The exposition on how Sunset handled the principals feels kind of awkward where it is. Disrupts the momentum of the scene, you know? But overall, quality stuff and a fascinating turn from the previous version. Maud being completely unaffected until she actually found something arousing was brilliant. Looking forward to more.
So Pinkie has a history with the Govermant, over a fully functional Anti-Tank cannon, no less. No surprise there. Looks like Midnight gained a very faithful worshiper. Good for her.
Ohh, and hey it's the best Dragon Girl. Awesome! Tell you what. Always had a weakness for Thorax/Ember pairing. I find it cute, Ember liking the timid and meek Thorax.
Though, I do find Celestia's interests... disturbing. Especially after judging Cinch. Would the Good Principal really give in to her 'urges'? Same with the Princess. I mean, with her own student? A pony with whom she was so close and must have known or at least suspect that it would have caused catastrophic results in her relationship with Sunset.

In hindsight, you're correct. So I've removed it. I may or may not add it back in to a later chapter. Do me a favor and check the flow of that section now.
Why thank you! And I very much appreciate the commentary. Glad you enjoyed the new chapter, and take care.

And maybe a couple more in Rarity and Pinkie! As for the cannon, I can't take credit for that. It was actually a joking comment made on the Google Doc by AJ_Aficionado during his preread, and I decided it was too good not to use.
Interesting. I'd see if I could be incorporated, but unfortunately, Thorax is not around at this point of the story (takes place before season 6) as Chryssie remains in charge. But Ember is going to factor in more later, and something she said is going to come back to haunt her!
You know what? Both you and Implausible Deniability flagged that small section in the first two comments, so I've simply removed it if it's going to cause issues for multiple readers. I may or may not add it back in to a later chapter. If I do, I'll try to add a little more explanation to maybe not show the Princess/Principal in such a bad light. I will say that the question was actually addressed over in The Lawyer and The Unicorn, where Celly confided in Twilight that she had a moment of weakness with Sunset due to it being far too long since she'd last had a lover, and regretted it. She used it as an impetus to find herself a more healthy outlet lest she be tempted again.
Will pony lyra meet the humans and study their "nocturnal activities "?
This is a very good chapter, I loved tyhe characterization of Maud very much. Pinkie Pie has some weird hobbies but they're probably normal by the standards of her family. The part with the dragons was very interesting as well. There are also hints that the humans have sexual urges not too different from their pony counterparts but I'm not sure if I want to know what that means for Pinkie Pie.

The adjustments flow a lot better. Thanks for taking my criticism under consideration.

Don't piss her off, or she'll begin a glitter carpet bomb campaign
10703548
In this story, she might well study their daylight activities as well!

You're very welcome. Thanks for speaking up.

Against which there is no defense or negotiated peace!

Thank you! For the record, getting her right required me to do some actual research on geological terms, including finding a rock that would crumble easily to the touch.
Indeed they are. Maud loves and prefers rocks to the point of obsession, Limestone is into heavy metal music, and Marble is the closest thing to normal in the family, loving pop ballads, sunshine, rainbows, and flowers. The interests of the last two sisters were actually shown in Nightmare Night.
Well, for the most part that's true, with one notable exception--pony Rarity certainly wouldn't want anything to do with dragons, as poor Spike well-knows. But human Rarity? That's apparently going to change! And will that mean for dragon Spike, post Nightmare Night?
Loose thought, wouldn't be it better if this kind of power belonged to Earth Ponies. Thinking it would fit their more subtle way of using magic, kind of like they're the ones to grow food. Besides, passive luck alteration might make Unicorns Overpowered.

Yes, but keep in mind he was still part of the Hive early on. Pretty sure he wouldn't mind taking an active part in changelings' activities if it didn't hurt anyone.

Loved that part. Way to show Maud's love for rocks and her and Midnight's vast knowledge on the subject. Plus, Shown their Work Trope is always appreciated. Where did you get that?
So what were to happen if Sunset were to go and stick a hand through one of the portals, could she absorb some magic to gain a bit over on Midnight so she could stop her then?
10705245
Interesting question! After giving it some thought, I'd say she could certainly absorb a bit, just as Spike the dog did when he leapt through a portal and could suddenly talk afterwards. But 'a bit' isn't going to be anywhere near enough to stop Midnight—you need a massive infusion of magic all at once to recreate her ascension, after all, and just passing a hand through a rift to pick up some ambient magic on the other side wouldn't do it. Still, thanks for bringing this up. I'll make it a point to address it in a future chapter.

Hmmm. No promises, but I'll give this some thought.
That's true, if unhappily. I'm not sure if he's left the hive at this point. I don't recall what episode that was, so I'll have to check. [checks] Okay, he first appeared at the end of Part 2 of The Crystalling in season six, while this takes places around the end of season five. He might still have left by then. Regardless, the Changelings will be heard from soon. In all honesty, I preferred them before they got redeemed, because they got pretty much emasculated afterwards. I much prefer the headcanon version of them where there are many different hives and leaders of them, each with a different outlook towards other races and seeing other hives as potential rivals for securing precious love.
To be honest, I was unware of the trope, but I had a geological interest of my own growing up, finding geologic processes and especially volcanoes fascinating. So I drew on my own interest for it, and looked up what I didn't know. I guess in some ways, that was me showing off a bit.
