Nice chapter, well done
This pony companion rubs me the wrong way...
I know who i sacrefice if ever needed first...
Strange that Naofumi let his attacker die to poison... Naofumi underestimated the poisen resistance i guess?

Valiant has his reasons for the way he is; I’m sure when you read his backstory, you’ll learn to understand and maybe even like him a bit.

Perhaps later. For now...
I am enjoying this, well done. I like Valiant, seems like an older brother type for Naofumi.

Naofumi and Valiant so far are pretty good as a team, they’ll really compliment each other when stuff hits the fan. Also you guys can expect a few what if chapters later on that might get made into an small side story of ideas I didn’t see much use for with my current timeline of events, so the reader can see a different route that might have played out under different circumstances.
I have to disagree with Valiant. It had nothing to do with a do or die moment, it wasn’t him or the yak. There was a plethora of other options. He could’ve hit the yak with the blunt side of the hammer (he consciously chose to turn it to the sharp end, so it wasn’t without thinking), and if he could muster the force needed to kill him, he could’ve mustered the force needed to knock him out. He could’ve strangled the yak using magic long enough for the yak to fall unconscious. And most importantly, he could’ve gotten out of range. This was avoidable, Naofumi may have a slightly flawed view (especially since he’s killed too, so he has no room to talk), but so does Valiant since he thought a situation like that was a kill or be killed moment.
There are moments where killing is absolutely necessary, but that wasn’t one of them.

Absolutely right, but often, when you get accustomed to doing something for so long, you don’t even realize you’re doing it. Valiant has no excuse, and he will have to face the consequences of what he did; regardless of who it might be to do that.
When you read more of his backstory, you’ll see that just him being the way that he is wasn’t all his fault, and it trickles down into his life today as evidence of this incident.

Yeah, like 'What If the king and the others DID THEIR JOB and actually explained things more thoroughly. They didn't give much of any explanation at the start and NOT assigning at least one person to work with the Shield Hero at the beginning, when it's a KNOWN FACT that he is barred from using other weapons (I mean seriously, not even a fricken dagger).
If I wanted to control things I would've sent a 'supervisor' with each member to keep a strict eye and control their actions better while giving the illusion of doing things properly. This would have ensured some of the vast mistakes that were made were dealt with. Cause seriously, one guy thought it was a legit game, he didn't even bother to do the simple self-test to see if he could be truly harmed! Another was way too damn young to have been allowed to go without someone giving advice, and do I have to mention the guy so easily manipulated by boobs that he turned into a douchebag within 48 hours?

Exactly, I know that’s what the writer of the anime was going for, which they did pretty good, in my opinion. But it still is irritating, especially Itsuki and his naive attitude, it definitely shows that he is not ready to protect anyone, let alone a whole different world.
Motoyasu is just someone I want to have shot; end of discussion.
And then we have Ren. Possibly the smallest sliver of a somewhat decent character for the few seconds he understood the situation as Naofumi did.
Until they all got their heads chopped off in my fic.
It really shows that if they were the best their world could offer, I wouldn’t be surprised if each of their worlds went to war at some point or got bombed.
The different routes I’ll be doing in my small snippets story to run alongside this one will just show some ideas I didn’t commit to, my interpretation of how certain events in the anime could have been handled, barring the sequence of events, and probably some further character development on lesser known characters.

Like that shieldsmith and the others naofumi got along with?
10715967
Exactly.

Didn't they all move to that village of Raphtlia's?

For the sake of argument, yes. I would have to go back and double check cause it’s been a minute since I watched the anime(which I’m going to have to do that anyways and look at the LNto make sure I get my facts right for future chapters.) but it would make sense for them to if they didn’t.

There is over 20 hours worth of breath taking audiobook on youtube by the way.
