As sunset was soon approaching, Princess Celestia was seated at a dinner table, sharing a meal with her sister. Looking upon her sister, whose return was just a few months ago, she smiled at the sight of her sister slowly regaining the vigor and power she held prior to her corruption. Already her mane was flowing with magic once more, though it paled in comparison to her glory days. Regardless, Celestia was thankful to have her sister returned to her.
"Dear sister, what hath proceeded in thy court today?" Luna asked while pouring syrup over some pancakes as Celestia resisted a desire to winch at her use of the old tongue. While she was doing her best to help her sister adjust to the modern era, some things about Luna continued to persist.
"Oh, nothing special, just the usu—" Celestia answered until the tell-tale pop of a letter arriving interrupted her. "Oh, Twilight sent me another friendship report," Celestia said as she unrolled the scroll.
Keeping her silence out of respect of both her sister and the mare that helped purified her of the nightmare's evil, Luna simply watched as Celestia enjoyed her letter. That is, until she saw her sister's face contort into a grimace, prompting her to seek what ailed her. "Dear sister, what causes thy distress? Art that letter not a report as thou claimed?"
Biting her lip, Celestia looked upon her sister before letting out a sigh. "It is a friendship letter, but Twilight also mentioned Sapphire Rain, a pony that I wronged recently due to her being suspicious of her lack of a background of any kind. This had led me to confront her to see if she was a threat, such as a changeling or some power hungry unicorn. Only then did I discover that she was indeed innocent, just a pony who was suffering amnesia. However, she didn't take it well and it eventually... led to her run off into the Everfree forest where she ended up being harmed."
Cocking an eyebrow, Luna said, "We do not see how thy art in fault. Thou art in the right of looking out for the well-being of thy student."
Frowning, Celestia replied, "Luna, while it may be within my right, it isn't morally right to cause an innocent pony distress on mere suspicions, much less cause the pony to be harmed." Letting out a sigh as she looked at the letter, she continued, "Now, every time I'm reminded of her, my heart is stricken with guilt over what happened."
"If thou art so distressed about this matter, why haven't thou done something about it?" Luna asked before taking another bite from her meal.
Looking at Luna, Celestia answered, "Because I believe that Sapphire doesn't want to meet with me again, especially based on how she was one of the few ponies that didn't show up for the Running of the Leaves event. Hence, I don't want to upset her again until she is ready to at least see me again."
Snorting at what she heard, Luna stated, "Sister, thou art being too soft with this pony. Even if thou must apply a firm hoof to get her attention, surely thou will be able to convince her that thou meant no ill will towards her."
"Sister, ponies aren't as tough as they were back in the old days. They have grown more accustom to pleasant situations and panic more when a crisis occurs," Celestia patiently replied.
Rolling her eyes, Luna responded, "Then Equestria has grown too soft during our time away. Perhaps the time for us to take action has come," before pounding a hoof on the dining table.
Resisting an urge to rub her temples, Celestia said, "Luna, we discussed this. You haven't learned enough of modern day Equestrian politics. One wrong move and the nobility will hound you on your mistake for an entire year."
"Bah, if they have the gall to even dare question us, we will simply exile them," Luna declared, to which Celestia pondered if it wouldn't be too inappropriate for her to slam her face into the table, that is, until an idea sparked in her mind.
"Luna, while I know that you're wanting to get back out into the world, I still believe you need more time to prepare yourself. However... there is something you can do to get started," Celestia proposed, causing Luna to raise an eyebrow at her.
"What is this thing that thou think we should do? May chance it involves the mare that thou are troubled with?" Luna blandly asked, causing Celestia to let out a mild chuckle.
"You know me too well Luna. However, you may be able to help this mare in a way that I can't," Celestia explained, which perked Luna's curiosity.
"What does thou mean, sister?"
"By what Twilight has told me, it seems that Sapphire only recovers her memories when she is dreaming. If you are up to some dream wa—"
"Thou doest doubt our ability to dream walk? Even at our weakest, such a task would be completed with ease," Luna interjected with a huff of annoyance.
"Well, since you say you're up to the challenge, maybe you could help Sapphire with her memory problem. Though I do find it odd that she can only remember through her dreams, Twilight speculated that there may be something else going on here besides amnesia. If the answer to that lies within her dreams, then you would be the best pony for the job, assuming you would take on the task," Celestia said, while Luna tapped the table with a hoof as she hummed in thought.
"Hmm... this is indeed something we have never encountered before. We will aid this mare, for it may be a suitable challenge to test our abilities. If indeed there art something that lies in the mare's dreams that prevents her from regaining her rightful memories, we will find and deal with it, for we are the Princess of the Night! Our duty demands that we will aid our subjects to the best of our capabilities!" Luna declared with a saluting hoof while Celestia smiled at the thought of both finding something for Luna to work on while finally repaying Sapphire for the stress she had given her.
Sorry Luna but Saphhire has more then a right to not want to be near Celestia, Your sister has screwed up, again.
Poor poor saphhire she's gona get Chewd up by luna
PS: luna rules
Uh-oh! Methinks Luna is about to encounter Amahl Farouk!
Nice chapter, I can't wait to see what Luna finds in Sapphires head.

Also, don't I know you?
I wonder what Luna will find in Azure's dreams and memories
7635244 Don't recognize your name. However I have posted stories on other sites. maybe there?
7634747 I agree, and while she seems a little bit more stupid, I somehow like that about Luna in this chapter. I mean in the end it looked pretty much okay.
I guess they made another mistake and to Saphire it will maybe look like Luna attacking her.
1. I mean she is affraid of Celestia and a Pony similar to her is coming to her in her dreams.
2. Saphire is probably the only one that doesn't know about the plan.
3. I see a chance of Saphire noticing that the dream is lucid, and that she is using that to reject Luna from her dream, creating a little comedy scene and a frustrated Luna.
There are different storys in which the dreamer has more or less a better control about her own dream than Luna.
Now many storys react different to that, some are saying she could still invade that dream, but it would hurt her really much, other just say that the pony needs to let Luna in and stuff like that.
Just because Saphire is somehow weak but unique in this story...(really clever and stuff like that), I want her to actually either prevent Luna from doing much, or just throwing her out of her own dream the first time, at least till someone is telling her about Luna.
7636480 I was saying Celestia was stupid not Luna. We'll see how Saphire reacts to Luna.

Yeah, I have two of your stories on my tracking list. I've also seen a lot of your comments on different stories.
7636485 I think I understood what you meant, but I suddenly had to think about Luna, and didn't noticed that I couldn't write it like that.
So you could say I think both of them where acting a bit foolish. Luna in her own way, which I'm not sure off if I can actually blame her.
You really abused the word "sister" on the first few paragraphs of this chapter you know?
Just the first paragraph had it four times.
Well, ok. Nevermind. Our Princess of the Night made the decision herself.
Celestia you idiot!
