Rainbow Dash's kid is hunting monsters. But when you stare into the adorable abyss, you might find it staring into you… A Trixieverse novel of the next generation!
So wait, now vampires are soulless monsters, just dead meat with nobody home? Discounting 'Shy's scenes (because magical hair extensions), none of the other vampires seem to be significantly different people, angst and thralldom aside. Gilda's still Gilda, Spy is still Spy, and Angel was always an asshole. So loss of a soul doesn't seem to significantly change personality or anything. They're not the "self" in any meaningful sense, so what do Equestrian souls do, anyway?
5632265 If I might posit a theory... I think it's because neither Gilda nor Spy are truly dead. Gilda was bitten by a vampire, but did not ingest Fluttershy's blood, leaving her a thrall, and Spy ingested Gilda's blood, leaving her a... half-vampire? It's a bit confusing.
As for what souls do, they would normally go to Tartarus, and from there, be sent to be punished or to join the Eternal herd.
5632388 By "what do they do" I mean functionally, not the fate of the soul. Assuming for the sake of argument that Gilda and Spy are full vampires and therefore "soulless", the soul isn't responsible for consciousness, personality, or volition. At best it's an incorporeal flight life data recorder, leaving any "judgement of the soul" nothing more than an inquiry where the moral agent in question no longer exists, and the soul being judged is nothing more than an archival copy. Proceeding to praise or punish the soul at that point is morally dubious at best.
This is speculation you pones are doing, but this much I do know:
Both Gilda and Spy are fully trixieverse vamps and truly dead. Biting doesn't have to be mutual, it's like hepatitis or something.
We are only hearing about zebra language for what souls are, but those masks Zecora has in canon are inhabited, and she's not making it up. When she says they say hello, she means it. They contain happy dead zebras that now have forever homes for whatever it is that's lost from ponies/zebras.
I don't know if they're supposed to go to Tartarus, though it's not an unreasonable assumption. Maybe they get melted down like mirror pool clones? Clearly Fluttershy's was scared and ran to Zecora even quicker than her vampire body did. We don't know where Gilda's or Spy's are, or how to lure them back even if we knew what to do with 'em.
Clearly the pony soul is responsible for something though the zebras may not have the details straight. Also, we've never heard the Princesses or Twilight talk of souls. It seems like some spookiness from Zebra lands, except there's evidence it is actually some kind of a thing.
5635588 Well, moreso chauvanistic and very male-centric in the structure of their society. Sort of like making herd mentality into the basis for civilization.
There was a phrase last chapter, and I failed to highlight it when I saw it: "Spiraling into a vortex of madness." I believe you should make this the tagine to the whole series as we've gone from a story about a magic bit that makes, mares sprout penises and how it affects relationships to... this. I love it, obviously, but... you know, we sure have gone down the madness vortex.

Commence read.
Hm. Interesting things. Souls.
Applejack sure was correct at the end. A whole cluster of it.
Zecora has an interesting plan. Now to see how Fluttershy reacts.
Gilda still needs to be settled down.
That sums it up quite nicely. Also it appears that zebras are arseholes...

So yeah, assholes.
