Rainbow Dash's kid is hunting monsters. But when you stare into the adorable abyss, you might find it staring into you… A Trixieverse novel of the next generation!
I've been reading all your series since last week and I'm excited to continue with this book. Maybe later I'll write something with some opinions of what I read so far, wich I loved!.
I quite liked the chapter, in my opinion, the attitudes of Fluttershy seem a bit tiresome and repetitive, so I feel great if once she starts to be "happy" and stop ruining the lives of others with their boredom guilt .... having said that, ironically, I think she is ignoring that she is fully guilty of the death of Spy. I mean, she bit Gilda, maybe not on purpose, but then she knew what she had done and said nothing to anyone. Even knowing that Gilda and Dash were lovers. She consciously infected Gilda with an infectious deadly virus, and then she did not tell him, and then Spy gets infected by sheer ignorance of Gilda. So, shame on you shy! I wish Rainbow Dash had hit you much harder in the head.
We do see her realize that she'd bit Gilda in the fight. Twilight cornered her and forced her to recount every detail, and only then did she make the connection. Since she hadn't been vampire-preying during that fight, the idea had never occurred to her. (that moment MADE this book: she had that fight well before the whole vampire arc. She'd enlisted the secret help of Zecora back then, but everything about her was trying to suppress the idea or suspicion of vampirism. I didn't know that about her either, at that point, though I knew she was horribly guilty, way more powerful than she let on, and controlling but resisting the idea of being controlling)
Now that she's consciously aware of it she can think of nothing else so it's like she'd always intended it (an evil thing and irresponsible!) but Gilda is correct that she'd lost her head and didn't know precisely what she was doing, and for a long time it didn't even occur to her that she might have infected Gilda (possibly because she feared attacking innocents, but didn't see Gilda as innocent).
So, partly right: all this time Fluttershy has been haunted by very powerful guilt feelings for good reason, but only recently did she put two and two together and work out that 'punching and kicking etc. the evil monster' included biting and that 'evil monster' could also mean 'relatively tame griffin who is close with various Ponyvilleans'. She had Gilda locked away in a category like 'evil thug monster' where there was no legit reason for Gilda to ever be around, and out of sight out of mind. Some part of her knew what she'd done, but Shy is VERY judgemental: it's much harder for her to conceptualize 'Gilda striving for good' and I don't think she would see 'plague of vampires among the griffins' as tragic, more like an uprising of worsening monsters who probably like being wicked.
It's interesting that she resents the ferrets for requiring fish. Shy seems to have a pecking order among the creatures. Maybe to her the fish are like flowers: pretty, but also a potential snack for those who eat 'em.
Fluttershy being surrounded by some pretty good influences, just needing to get over her stubbornness. Plus, overcoming vampiric instincts with intense sexual stimulation.
Gilda still finding her place in it all. Would she be part of such a herd? Cured or not?
5688802 Well, trixieverse Shy has just barely come to terms with the idea that some animals need to kill to live. But I can see not wanting your friends to eat your other friends. I think her ability to talk to animals doesn't extend to fish, and since they can't talk, she doesn't view them as friends.
So... vampirism comes much more naturally to carnivores. Makes sense. And given how often even normal interactions between carnivores result in blood, it'd spread through a group of them like wildfire. Vampire manticores and chimeras would be bad enough, but now I have images of aeries of vampire griffins. Dens of vampire diamond dogs, almost swimming through the earth and hunting in packs. Vampire dragons, immortal and invulnerable. With the thralls obeying the new alpha rather than infighting, they'd be much better organized than they already are. They can apparently still breed, so even with the low birth rates of carnivores, they'd grow, and grow, and grow.... All it would take is one vampire prey animal (or sub-sentient predator who ate a prey animal) escaping detection for just long enough to encounter one of the sentient carnivorous species....

So, Pinkie has daddy issues, and is a hair's breadth from becoming a ponified Big Red.
Filly, I feel for you, especially now that the Evil Penis-Haver (well, actually your ex-mate, but you won't see it that way) has stolen your marefriend, but don't make me hate you.
How have I not given this story a thumbs up yet? Good grief, what a chapter! I love that we're finally getting around to the character arcs for my two favorites of the Mane 6.

I see how you're gonna make that happen
Bravo, once again.
Commence read.
Well dang.
Plenty of things being put into motion.
Fluttershy being surrounded by some pretty good influences, just needing to get over her stubbornness. Plus, overcoming vampiric instincts with intense sexual stimulation.
Gilda still finding her place in it all. Would she be part of such a herd? Cured or not?
Then there's Pinkie.
And now the Crusaders popped into my head. Hm.

Years later, this is still my favorite series to see a new chapter for.

Why won't Fluttershy and Gilda just buck already!?!? There is no lack of sexual tension...
