The Sparkle family are going on vacation. While family holidays are often difficult, Twilight knows this one is going to be particularly bad. Mostly because her father doesn't.
5769778 There's always room for MORE DRAMA! In all seriousness, I reckon I'm about 2/3rds of the way through what I want to write now, so plenty left to go.
Gah this is so "wrong" but I cant look away its like some sort of loving incestuous car crash. I have to see it through. Very well done though love the imagery you employ in your writing style.
5770034 At least it is a train wreck, now. Night Light seemed to have been trying to deny reality by keeping his eyes closed. You can't just deny incest then express surprise when the mutant baby mentats are born. Twilight and Night Light are going to be responsible for the next stage in evolution.
5770017 funny that you mention her finding out, i was half expecting her to hear them and catch them in the act. but was suprised that it didnt happen.
5770088 incest does not cause mutant babies, it only "reinforces" recessive genes, so risk of genetic deformities are higher, but it would take generations of repeated incest before it became a serious problem.
Seeing this story updated: ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! :D
Now finished reading it: My god... this just... this is the most beautiful thing I've ever read in my life. I actually shed a tear at the end here. Love you, Love this fic, Love everything!!! :D
5770088 Funny I didn't even take the idea of impregnation into account, I was more thinking about the ramifications of Twilight's mother and/or brother (inevitably) finding out. But yes I suppose its fair to say this can safely go from a car crash to a full on Train wreck. (Depending on how this plays out that is.)
5770388 XD sadly no. But I felt like a kid on christmas seeing this update finally. That last cliffhanger man. It was almost intense as the wait for Season 4 back in the day.
5770088 5770203 5770384 It's all fun and games until someone gets pregnant with a mutant baby...
I subscribe to the "can't get pregnant unless the mare's in estrus" headcanon, though, so I'm afraid to say the five legged foals aren't gonna feature here.
Personally I'm on that same boat myself,so no love lost there. The focus was on the complex relationship between Father and Daughter, that kind of sub-plot probably would have subtracted from the story anyway . (Not doubting you capability as a writer to pursue that idea if you so wished, I'm sure it would be just as entertaining) But that would be grounds for a whole other story in my personal opinion.
5770408 Best head canon is best. I do have to say these two stories of yours are the best incest fics I have ever read and definitely in the top tier of stories on this site. I'm sure a writer of your caliber hears that quite a lot, but I fell it needs said again. I eagerly await more of this excellent story.
I still have the horrible feeling that something is going to go wrong. As it should, you can't keep huge secrets like this forever. I'm calling it now, either Cadence or Twilight Velvet are gonna find out, and everything is gonna explode. Literally. I'm really questioning the morality of this ... and poor Twilight Velvet, she caught up in the middle of it and still knows nothing. what have they done?
5771032 Swash, someone has to run the library. I'm sure the little man was more than happy to eat ice cream all day while dusting books. Rarity and the rest likely come by to check up on him. This is a universe where Twilight went to a private club to get blindfolded and banged by strangers, so apparently she doesn't bring Spike everywhere.
No one can seem to fluidly mix drama, romance, and erotica quite like you seem to manage time & time again Grimm. I am consistently humbled by the skill you show here.
When I finished this, I had to check the story page to make sure that this story hadn't been marked complete. Not that this wouldn't have made a perfectly fine resolution, but any time something you enjoy finishes up there's always that little bit that never wants to see it go.
He’d called out “Twilight” then, too, and not for her.
CALLED IT!
Out of all the things that could have happened... I honestly didn't expect that one. There's still one puzzle piece left before everything falls into place, but in a manner of speaking it does make some semblance of sense. Night Light's lost and has no where to go except for the last place it felt right.
I kind of felt for him. This had been a pretty interesting and realistic portrayal of events, so much so that the impending sex scene kind of felt uncomfortable. In a good way. Past dalliances had their roots in blind lust and misinterpretation. Now the two are perfectly collected and had sex willingly and perfectly knowledgeable of the consequences. I'll stop dancing around it: this was one hell of an awkward boner. You, er, did... your job... but it still felt kinda wrong because of Velvet's betrayal. I'm waiting for that last piece, because this has been a remarkable story.
5771026 Aww, I always kind of liked the Winningverse's idea of possibly getting pregnant whenever sex & true love are both involved. Sure it makes absolutely no biological sense, but it just feels like that's how it might happen in Equestria.
5771171 The problem with that theory is, if you aren't ready for foals, you'd better piss your partner off, or use an amulet of negative emotion or some silliness. It's a lovely idea, sure, but practically applied it just falls apart.
5771267 In Winningverse, it's explicitly stated that there's magical forms of birth control for this exact reason. Cloud Kicker mentions that she always uses them "just in case". I agree, it's totally not a practical concept, but for whatever reason it just feels right for the universe; that in a place so enmeshed with the ideals of friendship and love that even such primal forces as reproduction can be held to their whims.
5771294 They only have to mention potions because they've already mentioned love magic just exists. I mean, if a princess like Cadance had to make you receptive, I could understand that. Actually, if love magic exists everywhere, and Cadance is it's princess, that makes her arguably the most powerful princess in that setting, doesn't it?
This is one of those odd stories where it tricks you into cheering for the 'bad guys' to 'win'. Kins of like most GTA games, really. Seriously, Twilight is an absolutely insane bitch and Night Light is a pig who not only cheats on his wife, but does it with his daughter. Willingly this time, even. I mean, cheating when he thought it was a stranger was one thing, but damn, this is a new low. I can only hope that when the family finds out, they are rightfully furious and disown these two crazies instead of just accepting. Also hope there are laws against incest in Equestria like China and Finland so these two get punished with some jail time. Even if you think incest is okay in itself, you can't deny that these two have willingly behaved in ways that they know will hurt others. Twilight is doing this knowing it will break her mother's heart, pull their family apart, and ostracize her brother... How is she an Element of Harmony again? Anyway, the same basically goes for the father too, accept he should have, as he said, firmly put a stop to it as soon as he found out instead of letting it get this far. Congratulations on making a squirm-worthy story though; this is a far more realistic take on incest than the myriad of clopfics around here that idolize it. P.S. I hope their baby comes out deformed or retarded. That's an aspect of incest everyone seems to forget. Sure, one generation may not be that full of risk, but it still increases the odds further than natural.
Wait, I thought he only gave in before because he didn't want to hurt her and because he's so loving a father he'd submit to something like this. Now it seems he's taken it even further, willingly having an affair with her, collected and aware of the consequences as he is. Is that genuine, if fucked up, romantic/sexual affection coupled with familial affection or just a deepening of his previous submission? Was that "Twilight" really for her and did he really get more eager when she called him "Dad" during the sex? Twilight's kind of a biased narrator here after all.
And judging from her mother's reaction, her parents' relationship has been struggling with something. I wonder what, and I wonder how much that has caused him to submit to Twilight in this case. Once again, poor Velvet. The affair is now a genuine, conscious and continued betrayal of her, rather than the initial mistake of Night Light visiting that sex dungeon place and him comforting Twilight by lying with her.
There are two ways I see this ending: discovery, tragic heartbreak, family breakup and divorce; or Twilight Velvet getting in on the acting and a bisexual incestual threesome ensuing.
5771068 Indeed she does not. And that includes a "family" vacation in which everyone is enjoying having the "whole family" together.
At the very least, I suppose Grimm makes an accurate portrayal of where the little shit stands in canon: an insignificant orphan with no worthwhile stories to tell.
5772896 Well, here's the thing, Swash. There's "Like family" and there's family. Spike and Twilight are very close. Velvet would have, for instance, likely sent a letter to Spike trying to ask him if he knew what was wrong. Spike, since we know Twilight goes out of her way to avoid him seeing where she was going (She went so far as to sneak out with an invisibility spell) knows enough to say she is down about something, but not what.
Now, she's hoping to get Twilight to open up about why she quit writing, and Spike has no idea why Twilight is down. She already knows Twilight didn't talk to Spike about it, so she's hoping she'll talk to either: mom, dad, bbbf, or her foalsitter turned sister in law. She has no reason at that point to expect that Twilight will suddenly open up to Spike. Spike, being like family, would understand this, and help out by running the library while Twilight is gone. He would do this, not despite of, but because of his relationship as being nearly family.
5772993 So you're saying that it's sweet of him to be responsible to take care of her mood and stepping up when she's feeling bad, while she goes out and tries to fix her problem by having a relaxing vacation with her family?
It would be, if he was an adult, and if he had his own family.
But Spike is not an adult, he is a child. She is also the only caretaker of Spike, and the only thing Spike has to approximate a family. And he now has to both take care of her, and is left out of her family activity. She is, under your theory, allowing him to take care of her, and holding him at arm's length (not that I expect her to tell Spike about her very adult problem she is sharing with her father, both because she wants to keep it a secret and because it's a very adult issue and Spike is a child). She is expecting (or he is, I suppose) to be responsible when she is not able to be, because she is allowing her romantic trysts with her father to override the rest of her life. That is a terrible and tragic way to treat the child you're responsible for.
5773354 You're treating Spike a little too much like a child. He has shown himself to be very responsible, to the point where he is put in charge of small children and animals. He's not an adult yet, but neither is he a baby that needs constant supervision.
5773386 The problem isn't constant supervision or whether or not Spike can handle it. The problem is a problem of love. This is an essential part of a child being raised, and without a family, Spike would have either none or very little of that. Would Twilight really have treated him as more loved before now? How would Spike feel a sense of belonging with a family, if at every turn Twilight was finding someone else to take care of him when she went to spend time with her real family?
5773391 I think you do him a disservice. He knows Twilight loves him, and does not need constant affirmation of it, unlike his fans. He is in a very real way responsible for Twilight, just as she is for him. He has on more than one occasion gotten her out of the doldrums with a well-timed pep talk, Except this time, nothing he could have said would have helped. If anything, I think he likely insisted she go, telling her he would watch over the library while she sorted herself out. Because that's the kind of guy he is. He is there for the ponies he loves, and doesn't resent them for needing him.
When Twilight charged up that mind-wiping spell, I was on the edge of my seat and had a tightness in my chest, I was so certain that you're going to go down that route and it's going to be so very painful, I was so prepared for that. Oh I'd be so sad, and stopped reading afterwards maybe, unable to take that level of heartache.
The flashback was another nail in the coffin, making it all the more painful.
Then it wasn't what I thought it would, Twilight had missed, and I found myself cheering in relief, like an entire mountain lifted off of me.
After the whole ride, even if it were to end no, even if it won't be getting Epilogue, even if Twilight wont' get pregnant, it'll all be okay.
Because this is a happy ending for the both of them. And you've allowed me to know the barest of the feelings, one in a hundredth in a hundredth of a fraction of what Twilight may be feeling. All the anticipations, all the questions, all the heartache, fear and acceptance of defeat.
And the jump for joy, the happiness of love and lust while still asking myself if it's real at all or if it's just a dream.
I fear that the next chapter things will end horribly. I fear that in the end they both will be separated, or exiled or jailed, I fear that they will not be each other's ever again as their family crumbles around them.
Your story put me in there, Grimm. It was like I was there, I feel it.
Thank you. This have been a unique and amazing experience. I do not regret picking this story up and loving it so much. I will not regret if I were to die today and not see the next chapter again, But I would still love to see it.
I hope that my praises and compliments to you gives you hope and satisfaction, you definitely deserve the praise.

Bravo, Grimm, Bravo!

NO! NO!..Just no
I don't mean to sound like an assh*le but i'm just burned out with frozen anymore
I ADORE the internal conflict within this story.
5770893 Hey, if Frozen memes apply anywhere at all, it's incest stories.
5770408 Well, that's hardly worse than magical love babies. So, Grimm one, Winningverse zero.
5771032 Swash, someone has to run the library. I'm sure the little man was more than happy to eat ice cream all day while dusting books. Rarity and the rest likely come by to check up on him.
