Off the top of my head the only hanging plot threads that I can think of is the story between Vinyl, Octavia, and the guard (Stalwart something) whose name I forgot. Possibly a letter from Gilda or something considering she was basically put on a bus to the Griffon Kingdom but I won't hold my breath. And maybe something about Hammer (the pony rescued from the club, I'm just terrible with names).

I have to admit most of the imagery of the dances just fell flat for me, I will take your word for it that I should be impressed.

I suddenly really want to know what music Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were dancing to.

I always have a really hard time picturing dances when described, which is a shame, since Applejinx seemed to spend an awful lot of detail on them.

I think I can safely say that this song would fit perfectly for the dances of this chapter.

Hmm. We've got Fluttershy and Twilight left hanging for the next chapter. I could see Twilight dragging out into the next book, but not Flutters. Pinkie just won't tolerate that kind of drama.

Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle could use at least coda if they're going to make a go of it with the bits they've got and not the one they don't. That could be just wishful thinking on my part, there is never enough Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.

Obviously the next book belongs to the two mares who've needed to get laid for absolute ages, Celestia (surely not with Crowbar ) and Granny Smith (it always was cute how flustered he got when she called him "Filthy" in public).

That was... a hell of a chapter. We got an epic dance of courtship, some dirty dancing, and Filthy Rich doing some crazy mix of salsa and who knows what.

I smiled, I laughed, I shed a few tears and I d'awwd. Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara make the cutest couple. Hope Diamond gets some of her edginess back, but at least she and her Daddy managed to truly bond. And dat ending was perfect, you even set her up to being close to end in a depressive note, but gaining some comfort in her prideful and loving mate, Diamond just stopped caring about the loss and took pleasure in just enjoying being there with her Apple Bloom.

And seriously, Silver Spoon, if you had spent less time swallowing dongs you might not have completely humiliated yourself out there. What kind of dancing was that supposed to be??? Guh, such a cunt. This is what you get for dumping Diamond Tiara for some cheap noodle.

Speaking of, that seems like some loose ends I guess. I'm a bit curious as to how many possible chapters their are left or if other stories will continue in the other book. I'm curious to see what Scoots and Sweetie will be like now around Diamond with Apple Bloom. And still got Fluttershy and Pinkie I'd think to really resolve.

Anywho, great chapter. Too tired to really get into any real talk on my favorite scenes, like how much I loved the way you described AB and DT's dance, the subtle little characterizations on Vinyl which were cute and showed how professional and serious she is about her job, and so forth. Great chapter. It really was.

I know, terrible fate, TWO more chapters not just the one. How will y'all ever forgive me?

Fixed that for you. Buuuut in all seriousness, I'm just glad we're getting teased with a Book Six AND two more chapters! Looooved the dance imagery in this one, and though I *do* sorta wish DT and AB had won it after all, I'm glad Scoots found her special 'colty' something that doesn't involve breaking and entering, burglary, and prestidigitative penises. Too bad Twilight was too busy sulking about Celestia not being super celibate to watch. Maybe the next chapter will involve Trixie also getting in on the restorative power of loooove.

It occurs to me that, given the nature of cartoons, the canon CMC may never reach the level of adolescence-ish that they are portrayed as here.

I've been away for a long time, but since my birthday I have come back to read Diamonds In The Rough. I have enjoyed every chapter, some have been tender, and some horrifying and disturbing, and some funny, and some very dark, but this chapter... I just wanted to say that this chapter had the power to make me cry.

I apologize for not being here through the production of this story, Applejinx. You are one of my very, very favorite writers here, and I feel bad for needing to leave Fimfiction for so long and not adding my voice and support to your writing effort. That said, hiding in the shadows a bit, I am creeping forth because between the tears I need to tell you what a fine story you tell, and what a powerful chapter this was - especially after all that has come before.

Each of your Trixiverse novels has explored different themes, but this one, of change and redemption, of shrews being tamed, of hearts being healed, and of darkness being routed was very powerful. That you made the cold Filthy Rich into a tragic, impassioned character stunned me.

I am certain I will be saying this again, at the conclusion of my tour through this book, but BRAVO. Bravissima. Magnificent.

This was an incredible chapter. I was lost half of the time in the dancing, but it was still quite amazing. The feels in this chapter were almost overwhelming! I didn't quite cry, but I did have teary eyes during a lot of the ending bit of it. Now I'm on to the final two chapters. It's been taking me so long to read this... grr.
