Okay, first off, I said chapter 18 would be out this week. That was said without taking into account that this week would be short. Because of the holiday it would be only 4 days instead of 5. I loose one of those to snow removal. I could finish the chapter in my remaining three days, but I would have to ignore the other convention I'm going to this weekend. This is a LARP con, and I'm in 4 mini-games and I have to work on (study character sheets, prepare minimal costuming, stuff...).

I'll be attending Ponycon NYC next week. I'll be pleased to see all of the neat guests but I'll be happiest to see Shannon Chan-Kent (voice of Silver Spoon), Ashleigh Ball (shame on you if you don't know who she is), and, of course, the mother of FiM herself, Lauren Faust! I was thinking of bringing my copy of The Art Of Equestria for her to sign.

If anybody else is planning on going, shoot me a reply. Maybe we can hang for a while. :)

On Saturday 13th October my father and I went to Nottingham so I could go to this years UKPony Con the next day

(I only had a ticket for the Sunday)

And it was Great!

I got to meet Mad Munchkin, and bough some pictures off of her (asking her to sign one of them)

I was in a Cos-Play competition dressed as Princess Luna (sadly I didn't win)

And I bought loads of things to help me remember that day!

So on the 8 of January I went to Pacific Ponycon in San Diego,CA but sadly I have to leave early like at around noonish because my uncle want to get back on the freeway before traffic starts. I have a good time while being there for a single day. I participated in Silverquill's personality types and that really helps me with my characters personalities. Well, this was unexpected! Owing to unprecedented demand -- I guess partly because there's no BUCK this year -- UK PonyCon has completely sold out, which I don't believe has ever happened before. I'm not absolutely sure what the capacity of this year's venue is, but I'd guess around 500 -- and if that is the figure, it will make this by far the largest pony event in Britain this year. (Attendance was in the high 300s last year, with less space available.)

It was announced today that UK PonyCon 2018 will take place on the weekend of 13/14 October -- so exactly seven months from now! No word yet on the venue or ticket details, but I'd expect those over the next few weeks. I've been to the last four UKPCs and would love to go again, but until I know the venue I can't absolutely commit. We shall see!

I'll get a full (and doubtless highly waffly) write-up done for Louder Yay in the nearish future, but for now: I had a wonderful weekend. Not least the new (for me) experience of having someone bring up a story, unprompted, that was one I'd written -- not knowing the writer was sitting three seats away!
