The Making of: Pirene Hardcover Edition · 2:47pm May 5th, 2016

Last year I assisted with turning Through the Well of Pirene into a physical book, by doing art stuff.

After getting my copy, I thought it'd be neat to take some photos, side-by-side with the originals. Now I can prove to my followers that it really was me. and not one of my clones :pinkiegasp:

Present Perfect vs. Through the Well of Pirene · 10:55pm Feb 6th, 2017

Back when I reviewed Hoopy McGee's Project Sunflower, I name-dropped Through the Well of Pirene by Ether Echoes as another well-known, highly regarded HiE. Today, after a solid year of reading a not-audio book, I bring you my 100th review of the year, and 4000th review of ever, in which we will explore that very

Reading project: The Well of Pirene; & introductory blather. · 3:32am Apr 22nd, 2014

Since the fanfiction was first introduced to me by my good friend MrRidley, known to me as Nick, I've been curious about reading it, but never considered it seriously until he informed me a few weeks ago that its author was looking for someone to do an audiobook. Of course, I leapt at the chance immediately. I will state here and now that I am not a pegasister: I am one of those strange sympathetic non-fan friends or family members of

(Insert inappropriate Professor Putricide quote here.)

I'm saying goodbye to my faithful laptop. Repair costs are such that I'd really rather get a new computer. On the bright side, I have everything backed up! That will make life a lot easier so I can power through all the reading I've delayed on so many times. Just gotta find my pop filter...

Chapter 9 commencing! (Plus sappy hippie stuff) · 9:02pm Sep 11th, 2015

I guess it's kind of fitting that I've begun reading chapter 9 in the ninth month of the year. I offer my deepest apologies to anyone if you're from the regions whose accents I'm pilfering for Ether Echoes' fic and offended by my failure to accurately replicate them. The fault is mine for not listening hard enough when you guys speak.

Really, though, listening is one of the most important things people can do for each other. It's part of the magic of friendship

Because I am!

VonSnootingham posted this over a year ago, and then we ran into technical problems just as I finished chapter 10. It's definitely been a rocky few years since I started this audiobook, and I want to apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to seeing it finished. You deserve so much more than one update in a blue moon.

Chapter 19 is go.

I've skimmed it already. The description of the Bridle reminds me of rape. The Morgwyn's demeanor creeps me out.
I'm not ready for this.

Well of Pirene: chapter 1 out & good news. · 8:17pm Jun 24th, 2014

I've been recording my voice for the past few months with a headset, which is good for internet calls when I just want to have a conversation on Skype or Google. It's definitely useless for singing or reading, however; it picks up background noises like a fly picks up diseases.

Greetings everyone that happens to run across this blog.

As a few have notices, I've not updated in sometime, but life happens. Anyways, I am still working on Protocol-D, albeit slowly. I have also been working on a side-story of sorts about one of the characters. This side story will probably finish up first. It is sitting at 8.6k words at the moment. I might break it into two chapters instead of the one do to that fact.

Update: Pirene Progress · 7:09pm Jan 28th, 2015

I've been given a few pointers from Ether Echoes himself concerning the different sounds of main characters, and attempted so far to retain a kind of consistency in the way of vocal tone and pitch, as I've always lacked the confidence to speak for very long in a dialect not my own, as strange as that sounds. Applejack has given me a little trouble in that field, particularly, but I hope you will understand: I don't want you to feel as though you must be too kind to me once chapter 4 comes out.

A wrinkle in Pirene? · 10:47pm Oct 26th, 2015

Somewhere in my busy life I've found room to re-read some of the books in Madeleine L'engle's wonderful saga, and first among these at the moment is A Wind in the Door. It's been years since I read these absolutely magical pieces of work, which have such a great deal of meaning in them that I think can be appreciated by anyone, no matter what outlook you might have on the world. Why? Because she creates a narrative that, although filled with imagery and symbols inspired by her own
