Yeah, remember when COVID-19 was a thing? I'm fine if we don't get a sequel, of course.
Alternatively, what's the real-world version of Cutie Pox?
Because I am That Kind Of Person, I typed "Friendship" into the search bar on Wikipedia and immediately looked at the dropdown menu of suggestions. And I see this:
There's some weird random stuff here.
Because writers feed on flaws and conflict, and because a great way to make some is to have a character go in cockeyed, I was looking up cognitive biases. This one caught my eye:
Bad Seed! Now in 3D!
Just checked. Embedded images seem to be working again.
Seriously, though, what was that?
I've only just noticed, but is anyone else having random loading failure problems with inserted images/gifs on various pages? Blogs and user pages I've chiefly been noticing it on. I could've sworn they were fine yesterday, but today? Nope.
Fic embeds and videos seem to be working fine. I just wondered if anyone else had noticed the image issue.

Ten years ago (2014), in the month of March, we were in the third quarter of Season Four, specifically the run from "It Ain't Easy Being Breezies" to "Leap of Faith". I find it very... nostalgic.
If the show's to be believed, then friendship's biggest threats come from external forces: hatred, fear, etc. Friendship's purpose is to hold fast and let natural strength repel these attacks.
You ever consider that friendship's greatest threat comes from within? From much more banal forces: erosion, decline, and fading away?
About a magical princess who teaches friendship, sings a lot, believes in redemption, has an odd domicile on the outskirts of a crazy town, and lives within walking distance of Hell.*
* You think I'm joking, rewatch "It's About Time".
Question is: Which songs rock the hardest?
Anyone else ever remember giving something up for Lent when they were young? Even though it hasn’t been a thing in close to two decades for me, I’m reminded of it by two people in the house doing it for the first time in donkey’s years. Okay, one person, my mom to combat her sweet tooth: my brother is merely relaxing on the soft drinks outside of before and after sports training/matches. But that’s still 1.5 more than usual.
Hey folks! Welcome to the index for Recommendsday. After nearly three years, I've realized I can't accurately keep track of things. Sure, there's a bookshelf that includes all of the stories, but it doesn't help line up story and author with post. So: this index. A hopefully easier way to search and sort. Obviously this will be updated as time goes on and more are added. Anyway, have a good one and enjoy the reading!
Last week was the “serious” side of looking back at 2023 for Ghost Mike’s Ponyfic Review Monday MusingsTM in review, focusing largely on quantifiable stats calculated in the Archive Spreadsheet. Now it’s time for the fun, goofy side of that – quirky takeaways that don’t mean much except being something to chuckle at.
So at least some of you are aware that one of the groups I'm part of and help with is Time Action Glory Challenge, a group dedicated to boosting the exposure of underused characters. Part of this is that the group started tracking story count by character tag back in mid-2017. First it was maintained by Impossible Numbers, then
(Re-)read a bunch of Lyra and Bon Bon fics recently, decided to close up the year with another post.
Coming in From the Cold (Timaeus); A Perfectionist's Romance (〃); Luck of the Lyrish (〃); Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies (JaketheGinger); Something Like Feeling (shortskirtsandexplosions); Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon Bon (〃); The Nightmare Sonata (adcoon); Music is the BEST! (Impossible Numbers)
As I contemplate the end of 2023, this quotation from Douglas Adams springs irrevocably to mind:
A bit un-eggs-pected, this, but since an Aardman feature recently made its debut, I thought I'd add it to my Stablemates collection. I mean, hay: no farm, no fowl.
Also, I put the title in speech marks because double colons bug the heck out of me, and I had to do something.
Well, the results for Imposing Sovereigns IV: The Aluminum Jubilee are up.
In other more important news, a fellow user's hurting and could do with some help. See the link below for more details, though I think Estee's reach is greater than mine:
