Thoughts on Season 9 Premiere · 1:33pm Apr 10th, 2019

So, I've been thinking that since Season Nine is due in a couple of weeks and is the last one, I suppose we should go back and visit my opinions of seasons past (barring 7 and 8, since I did those). I've been watching the show since 2011, and I only joined this site and the fandom in 2014 because a certain episode gave me inspiration (we'll cover that later), so, why shouldn't I? I mean, it's only fair that I give my thoughts on every episode of the show, even if they're short.
Well, thanks to April Fools' Day and my FIMfic-aversary, I got a little sidetracked from these episode thoughts, and I got to do two more seasons before Season 9 on Saturday (I'm skipping Seasons 7 and 8 because I already made my thoughts on those episodes as they aired). So, after the infamous year-long hiatus after Season 4, Season 5 aired with much anticipation. Did I think it was worth the wait during that time?
Well... mostly.
The Cutie Map
I've been putting it off for awhile now. But there's no escaping the inevitable. I need to get back to work and finish my story. I guess I always had the general feel of what I wanted to do, but some of my reading of recent has lead me to wonder if I can just go with a happy ending, or something a bit more nuanced. As I've mentioned before, perfect justice doesn't happen nearly often enough, but you want something good to come of the bad situation you've created. Whatever I guess. Let's just
So, I've been without the internet for like two and a half weeks. That sucked. Anyways, I wasn't around to see the reactions to the last three episodes, and it seemed like people had some strong reactions to the last two. All three were actually pretty cliche. Though one did the old trope well, one was just really forgettable, and one was kinda bad.
The Cart Before the Ponies
I'm aware it's early to post this blog. Twenty sixteen is almost over, and I figured it was time to do one of these.
I really hate it when I come across a site, or a group that promotes creative art and story telling, but then I look at their rules and see that they do not allow: racist, abusive, deceptive, profane, slanderous, offensive, or anything inappropriate in their art, or stories...
What in the actual f#ck does that leave us with? Human's draw our greatest emotions, our greatest strengths from meeting the above challenges.
So it pisses me off to see this crap, every, single, time.
Been a while since I’ve done one of these, huh? I unfortunately missed out on the last couple episodes, but now I’m back to give my quick thoughts. Spoilers, as always.
*sigh* The annual Maud episode. Joy. Here we go...
Yeah, I'm sure you were eagerly awaiting my reaction to this episode. I have a reputation to uphold, after all.
So, without further ado...
*twitching, trying to keep from exploding at the Christmas thing that aired before Halloween* I really don't want to hate Christmas, but frankly, getting stuff from that holiday before Thanksgiving, let alone Halloween, gets on my nerves. For goodness' sake, when it's October, I want to be in the Halloween spirit, not Christmas! Gosh, why couldn't this thing wait?
Well, this isn't going to be long.
Noooooooo! My shiiiiiiiiiiiiiip! Even if I was preparing for this one, it still hurts!
*sniff* At least this one sank with some dignity...
Come on, a fourth Hearth's Warming episode? Dude, give me that third Nightmare Night episode!
And also, stop showing your holiday specials months before December. It's annoying.
I got to chapter two done over this week for Finding My Light and got more of a push after the "Uncommon Bond" with Glimmer and Sunburst, who spoil but its one of the better eps this season in my book!
Working on chapter three on and off and thanks for all the reads. If you guys and gales get a chance, watch the MLP Movie!
I've been following some of the chatter about the most recent season, mainly because I've been reluctant to watch it. It seems odd when you look back at it, to create the School of Friendship, and introduce us to the Young Six, and then push them to the sidelines because their headmare is about to become ruler of Equestria. And are we really to believe that our heroes will still be able to live their lives, continue to teach, and also rule Equestria in some capacity alongside Twilight? It was
This is one of the few things on my wishlist that I can safely say was on everyone else's.
First name: Michael
Middle name: Rowe
Last name: Wayve
Mike never tells anyone what his middle name is. Why?
Because then he’s Mike-Rowe-Wayve.
