This week, we return to the Berrow catalogue. While the previous entry offers the closest thing we have to Cadence’s canonical backstory, this one has actually been referenced in the show. Ponypalooza’s mentioned in “The Mane Attraction,” among other details. Let’s begin.
IDW never stopped being a thing, but there was a brief pause in their pony comics as the generations shifted. My pause had to be much longer, since I wasn’t sure how long the initial arc would be. But issue #3 is out and only tangentially related to the first two, so let’s what those two entail.
This week, it’s back to the Moon for more play-by-post fun with Woona.
I’m half-tempted to just post this link to Atop the Fourth Wall and move straight to the card designs. I’m not going to, but Linkara does do a very good of breaking down many of the comic’s failings. That said, he does it from the perspective of an outsider looking in. He’s tried Friendship is Magic and it isn’t to his taste. I respect his opinion, but there are aspects of it that elude him.
In this penultimate week of Season 8—going by the US release schedule, anyway—we get the closest thing we may get to an answer to one of the series’s biggest questions.
I really hope it doesn’t turn out to be the closest thing we get.
Depending on who you ask, two of the people we’re looking at today could be seen as the worst thing to ever happen to Equestria: King Sombra and Jay Fosgitt. 
Well, the Equestrian Department of Plausible Deniability got back to me, and I’ve been cleared to release the following classified information on the condition that it not be disseminated to any ponies of interest. I think we’ll be able to handle that much.

Tell Your Tale hasn’t quite told all the tales for this year, so we’re dipping back into G4 for a bit. Specifically the next round of Classics Reimagined. No prizes for guessing who’s in the great and powerful titular role, but we’ll get to that when we get to it. First we need to get out of Horse Kansas.
Now that I’m more or less up to date with d20 Pony, let’s look at a different pony webcomic. Indeed, let’s look at one of the first.
Hello all. Today marks the beginning of the Stretch for Time Fortnight my rambling about the short lead-up animations for the movies, a welcome change in terms of ease of viewing. After all, Hasbro put these on their own YouTube channel. I’ve provided links, since odds are these are far from fresh in anyone’s memory.

I return from my latest foray into Zendikar with… middling success. Zagras only gets you so far when the rest of your Sealed pool is largely mediocre.
In any case, I thought I’d be looking at the IDW comics this week, but it turns out that when they say “available September 2020,” they mean “available one or more seconds before October.” So, more Pony Life it is. Let’s close out the Flutterarc.
With the Daring Do trilogy complete, this week begins my look at the “Princess Collection,” a tetralogy of all the alicorns but Flurry Heart, each paired with a season. We begin with Celestia; let’s see how G. M. Berrow treats the sun queen:
We now come to the novel I put off last week. It does present a truly rare opportunity: A chance to flesh out Cadence. We got the story of her ascension in the novels, after all. Let’s see what this one offers.
Thank you for your patience. Philadelphia is hardly getting banished to the moon—heck, I didn’t even open Call Up Emrakul to Help during the Un-Known event—but it’s still kind of appropriate that a book starring Luna ended up getting delayed because I was out of town.
