That was a great one, honestly.

It was probably the best film Noir-esque episode you could make, given the time limit. I mean, sure, it may have been obvious who the villain was (I mean, seriously, he just sounded like a detective show villain), but that didn't make it any less enjoyable! And I'm willing to bet a pretty penny that somebody is currently writing a story about the adventures of Shadow Spade.

1. It's a spike episode.

IT FREAKING HAPPENED!!! BEST EPISODE YET OF THIS SEASON!!!

We found out Diamond Tiara's mom is a big bitch, Diamond Tiara isn't that bad of a pony, and the Crusaders got their F##KING CUTIEMARKS!!!! HOLY MARRY MOTHER OF GOD IT HAPPENED!!! I had the biggest fangasim ever....and Applejack's parents are dead...

But otherwise, it was an amazing episode by far. Better than episode 100 in my opinion.

I'm not going to spoil anything for anypony, but I will just say this. Today's episode was probably the greatest in the season so far. Character growth like that only happens once in a blue moon, and better still, the part with what AJ says to Applebloom at the end was so freaking beautiful. I never actually thought that this episode would happen, seriously, and I am more happy about it than I ever could be. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now!

I never thought I'd see the day when the show could give me a character I hated more than Rainbow Dash AND Starlight Glimmer COMBINED.

But damned if they didn't. Zephyr Breeze has all of Dash's ego and all of Starlight's detestable traits. And he's a stallion. So much for the strong male characters in this season.
