So yeah ... Christmas kind of blew for me this year, specifically with work. Seriously, fuck retail during the holidays, and I thought working at a grocery store during this time was bad.
I'm going to take a break from my usual story rotation schedule for at least a couple weeks. There are two reasons for this. First, I think my prolific pace this year has finally been catching up with me a bit. I've been sensing a measure of burnout, particularly around writing clop. The next chapter of The Lawyer and The Unicorn is a major adult chapter, and I don't want to write it until I feel I can do it justice. Well, folks... I'm calling the latest and craziest TLaTU chapter a success. Three new likes, and TLaTU part 37 was certainly a popular chapter by read count. August comes, and as promised a couple months ago, I've been working on my anthro novel, though I've found the going much slower and harder than I would like. I'm stuck at one place in particular right now that's giving me fits. I'm finding it hard, unfortunately, to slip back into the mindset that writing this kind of anthro fiction requires and re-immerse myself in this world I created several years ago. An enormous milestone that the release of the companion story, Unleash the Magic - Nightmare Night helped it reach. So a huge thank-you to all readers, both old and new! This is easily my most successful story, and one I immensely enjoyed writing. Yes, I have promised additional bonus features and a Shadowbolt-centered sequel, and be assured they are not forgotten. It seems unlikely I can get to the latter this year, but I will aim for late winter or spring of next.

After three months working more or less exclusively on it, Nightmare Night goes on a brief hiatus. Here's the full status on it plus future plans:
I kept my promise to get two more Temptations & Transformations side story chapters posted this past week for seven total. With more content comes more likes; I picked up four new upvotes there over the past couple days.
I said before that the next Feathered Hearts main story chapter would cover the events of chapter 7 of the original story in its entirety. Unfortunately, the chapter got too big, and I’m not going to give readers a 17,000 word entry that’s basically an info dump instead of action. So I’m splitting it up. On the bright side, this means you’ll get two ~8500 word releases in a matter of days.
Well, with the latest Midnight Rising release in the rear view mirror—a warm welcome to new readers, and I’m still hoping to see a few more comments!—another new MR chapter is on deck; this one for Sour Sweet. With regards to her, I have to be honest—of all my original story chapters, hers was probably my least favorite.
It’s been fun, but also an ordeal at times to write, folks. I’m pleased to say that it’s not only finished, but that the first prereader review is already in and quite positive—thanks, AJ_Aficionado! I’ll be aiming for a Thursday night release; expect it to be around 11k words.
Finally into my turkey week vacation and hoping I don’t get called back into work in advance of a weekend software release I’ve got some code in. I’ve got a slew of cleaning and painting chores to do around the house, and for fun, I plan to visit a local pistol and rifle range at least a couple times along the way after spending way too much money at a gun and knife show this past weekend. But I’ve also got two writing tasks in front of me, both having to do with Continuation and
The new Nightmare Night chapter is now well over 14k words and climbing as it's still not finished. I have one more sequence and transition to complete, which will likely leave this up over 16k words by the time all editing passes/prereads are done. That's on the verge of needing to be split up, but I'll try to avoid that, as I'd honestly prefer this epic battle of friends-turned-foes to be contained within a single chapter.
It’s with prereaders now, weighing in at 14k words. Unfortunately, it turned out I couldn’t put in everything I wanted to without the chapter length approaching around 25k words, which is way too much for a clopfic IMO. But I found a convenient breakpoint (which, me being me, means another cliffhanger!) So there will be one more chapter to close out the griffie goodness of the story and complete the setup for the climax of Nightmare Night.
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is you’re going to be getting another 12k word entry soon. The bad news is I elected to break it up again, to get it out before I go on vacation. So there will be one final trailing part to this now not-so-mini story arc, whose contents will be obvious once you read the end of the new chapter.
I’ll be going on vacation there in two days. And though I hoped to maybe finish a chapter of Feathered Hearts—which currently sits at around 14.7k words and is likely to be broken up again for the length it’s reaching—I’m not going to be able to. Too much on my plate, and I need to be able to relax for a bit.

At the office following vacation, where I continue to man the fort pretty much alone while everyone else works from home, and on Feathered Hearts, where I have decided to do one more all-new transition chapter before resuming work on editing the original chapters. The objective is to merge the new storyline back into the original and smooth the way forward. As for why, when I thought about it, it just didn’t seem right or fair to jump back into the original story without addressing
I'm going to attempt my first-ever story commission. It will be M-rated and Equestria Girls-based, involving the one-by-one ascension of each of the Humane 6 to the same kind of Goddess form like Daydream Shimmer. M-rated because the ascensions themselves will be a very... sensual process.
On Feathered Hearts. I say that because this latest chapter has been coming a lot slower than the previous ones, and I’m having trouble focusing on it. Perhaps it’s just time for me to set FH aside for a bit after the massive amount of content I’ve generated for it over the past few months—120,000 words between C&C and Eros? I mean, I pretty much wrote an entire novel in a four-month time frame.
