I agree. Not to mention, with each passing installment, it seems like G5 is starting to get more confusing everyday. It frequently compromises its own continuity, and things are hardly kept together.

G5 sucks. It has good qualities that I refuse to ignore like a view-addicted grifter on YouTube, but it does suck overall due to a boat-load of writing and behind-the-scenes issues.

I try to take the good with the bad, Perpetually Confused, which is not the same as willful ignorance. I'm not insinuating anything with my words, just stating a fact.

For the record: if anyone thinks this is me telling G5 fans to suck it, don't. Folks liking something that I don't like is perfectly okay. Just as me finding things about something I don't like enjoyable is also okay.

I’m gonna go ahead and say that the “cash grab” intention is the most likely of them. Heck, you can tell clear as day G5 was made to be just that because of the excessive use of G4 Easter eggs and references, as well as the lack of coherent and well-thought writing.

7964897 I think it's quite simple. The authors are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the wall, hoping that something will stick.

If I was in charge of Hasbro, I would never just hire some random authors. I'd be hiring among the brony fandom. That would ensure consistency and relevancy. Also, they probably wouldn't even need to pay these people because they'd be willing to write for free. It would be legal slavery, and no company could say no to that.

Since someone mentioned it. I share my prediction. Sunny's mother is from Skyros, her father is with her. The princesses are there too (Why not?) Allura wants to get there too. (Why yes!) Sunny and her company end up traveling there to solve the defining crisis of the entire series. (It's the way) The secret villain turns out to be the Shadow King (It could happen...)

They all become alicorns and magically save the day (let's make Equestria great again!)

I believe Sunny mom did unfortunately pass however because Tell Your Tale is for such a young audience they arent going to outright say that she died and that’s why they kept it so vague
