Come on!

This place is practically dead. Where's that tried and true Great White North Spirit?

Does anyone remember this gem?

Guys. This was my childhood. Well, this, The Kids In The Hall and The Red Green Show, but, camman! Can I get some love for truly great Canadian Programing?

Just for the heck of it...

and also...

1965359 OH HELL YEAH!

Littlest Hobo is and will always be one of my all-time favourite TV shows!

1965370

Fuckin' rights!

Maybe it's the Canadian Club talking, or the Canadian Classics, but, there's a distinct lack of THe Great Whiet North on this website that I aim to fix up. We're the better America; all the Healthcare, none of the Gun-Control, Government On Strike or General Craziness!

Canadian Muh-Fucka

Red Green Show was a Hamilton show... Just bragging on behalf of my city

1965397

I have the stiffest Nostalgia Boner right now...

1965592

Winnipeg, Manitoba signing in!

1965602 Filly please, we had a transmission error that replaced our news with hardcore porn... gay porn, at about 6am

1965625

Sounds like heaven...

1965626 More like hell, as in the high hell people rose when this happened

1965397 Let's combine GREAT Canadian Cartoons with nostalgia! BOOM!

The Raccoons had some really great character depth for a kid show, particularly on the main antagonist, Cyril Sneer.

And here is an underrated gem:

Oh and who can forget this classic from the early days of Teletoon?

Man I miss shows like that...

My dad played the limo driver in the Red Green movie. Which he eternally rubs in the face of everyone I know.

1965359 Gems? You want Gems?

Canada: Cult Classics Done Here.

Go Jets GO!

1965721 You do know Cathy Wesluck voiced Cybersix/Adrian right? I was so happy when I learned this, just because I'm glad she's still working

This entire site is about a Canadian made show. Its made in Vancouver BC. Just in case anyone didn't realise that.

1966474 I didn't! That's amazing! :pinkiehappy:

1966537 So true! At least on the animation front, the writers are all in LA (which is why there was no snow in the Hearts & Hooves Day episode and we never get winter themed episodes, those guys don't know a thing about snow!).

1965359 1965388 Red Green and Trailer park boys are and will always be my favorite shows of all time.

1965975 *Laughs* There's a local place in Hamilton that has the old Red Green Tv show sets.:pinkiehappy:

We store our boat at the same Marina as Steve Smith and while I've spotted him once or twice I try to be cool and leave him alone and just fangirl to myself.

I really want to see his new stage show but tickets were 70 apiece:twilightoops:

Dunno if he's as popular outside of Winnipeg but, Fred Penner used to either live, or visit, my area when I was a kid. Once, way back when I was a wee tyke, he was at this annual 'Boo at The Zoo' thing and me and my cousin were running around the parking lot. Some old man grabbed us and told us, straight faced, "Its dangerous to do that."

After we were done shitting ourselves we realized that man was Fred Penner. Pretty nice guy, saving our lives and all.

He also plays shows almost every year at The U of M.

1967166 *Nods* Fred Penner is awesome. he did a show in my area a while back and I was crushed at not being able to make it.

1967702

Aww, that's really too bad.

I don't mean to rub it in, but, there's something special about seing Fred Penner live as an adult, playing for an adult crowd and singing songs like "Sandwiches are fine" and "The cat came back."

Its trippy

1967744 *Laughs* no worries, that to me is the best thing. Just seeing ll these adults get together and sing simple silly songs. I freely admit I cried when I found out Mr Dressup had passed away.:fluttercry:

1969054

Oh god.

That show and wishbone were
My childhood

All this and no Corner Gas. I am disappoint. Plus all the great Canadian TV animated shows.

Anybody remember this skit?:

You guys remember an American in Canada?

That show won a gemini award for Best Comedy on nothing but its PILOT! Then it premiered as a show proper with huge fanfare on CBC and I thought it was a lot of fun... then it was cancelled after one season.

Here is another show I thought was great but got the boot:

:D

And for something animated:

Chilly Beach :D

1971127

I used to hate Corner Gas. Not because its not funny (It is.) But, I was in this drama class in grade 12 and I was kind of shy, so, we used to do these weird like 'Everyone says something about themselves' exercises to get to know everyone.

In this class we had this guy who was like... I dunno. Not handicapped, but, just scratching by. Like, a little slower.

Anyway. So, we're doing this thing and its my turn and I go "I'm (Guy_Incognito) and I like to party." and a few people laughed and I was like "Aww, yeah. Friendship." but all the while this dude's just eyeballing me. After class he literally pulled me aside and in the straightest face possible was like "You know, you're pretty funny. But, you're not Brent Butt funny."

Shattered my dreams of ever being a famous Canadian Comedian.

Who remembers this one?
[youtube=6X7CFlJK0z4]

1971840 Then go past that. Become Dan Akryod funny.

1973288 Remember the rock-off between Megabyte and Bob. That was awesome

Great Canadian Television?

Well, if you set the bar that low- BOOM!

The only Canadian shows I would call 'great' would include 24 (mostly Canadian cast in the first season), Andromeda, the entire Stargate television franchise, and Reboot.

There's also this little show called My Little Pony, perhaps you've heard of it. It's pretty good.

1971840

Bullshit! You're hilarious!

1965625

That happened once in California during the superbowl. A transmission error caused the game to jump cut to a man slapping his willy between his thighs.

I imagine the look on the thousands of people watching going, "What the fuck!?"

1971536

Chilly Beach was actually made in my former hometown of Sudbury. The animation team came to my film class and turned one of my classmates into a character on the show. Apparently, that's how they designed background extras, by looking out the window.

1982849 You live in Sudbury? My condolences, still better than Timmins though.

1983555

Note the word, "former."

I decided to back to college, and used the opportunity to get the fuck out of Sudbury.

It occured to me we COMPLETELY Forgot the show that most of the team at DHX Media worked on BEFORE Friendship is Magic!!

Ruby Gloom!!

Fantastic little show!
Misery is amazing hahaha.
