Some ponies are reasonable, and take things as face value. Some are open minded to the things they can't explain. Others, however, are stubborn. They won't give into other ponies' views, regardless of facts given. And that's fine; everypony is different, and that should never be something to judge.

Of course, some take it too far, to the point where realism and ridiculousness clash in an ongoing banter.

And when somepony comes up with a theory regarding the Apple Family's departed progenitors, Applejack may have a few choice words to say about the matter.
