Backstory:
During the First Changeling-Pony War, there were no laws against what weapons were prohibited in war, therefore allowing for four years worth of experimenting. These four years are sometimes called The Golden Age of Changeling Innovation, as Chrysalis was always eager to test new technologies.
Similarly, Luna wanted to try new things. Though, unlike Chrysalis, she didn’t have the ideas or intellect to design anything complex. However, while experimenting with chemicals, she inadvertently creates pesticide. This chemical, whilst harmful to ponies, is very, very, very lethal to the changelings.
She first unleashed her creation all across Forever Fields, to horrifying results. The results of these “tests” started to make everyone question where’d the line in the sands was for weaponry.
