An announcement I shouldn't make and will regret · 8:47am Jun 28th, 2022
So who's getting in over her head and about to make promises she may not keep? This bitch!
I plan to start releasing the next major Who We Become story by the end of the year. There, I said it, now I have to do it. It's called Life in Equestria, and I recently reread what I wrote so far of it (which is half of the story) and it's great. I'm so proud of it, it accomplishes something very complicated that I always wanted to do but never felt capable of doing: Juggling!
See, my stories always have multiple plot threads going on (well, my novels do) but this one is different. There are three POV characters all with their own stuff going on that is very distinct from one another. Apple Bloom has a new relationship and is balancing growing the CMC; Rarity is also in a new relationship, but that's harming one of her friendships; and Pinkie Pie is established with her new coltfriend, but she wants to take things to a new step...
As you can see, firmly romance plotlines. But each relationship is its own, and they all have other stuff going on. And yet, this is not three concurrent stories; each one feeds into the others in ways that make untangling them impossible. Then just to take this a step further, after these storylines conclude in chapter nine, chapters ten-eighteen are from the POV of supporting characters from these three storylines. The end result should be a tangled-up story where even if you're reading a Pinkie Pie chapter, it can still offer revelations in Rarity's story arch.
Long-time readers might remember a thing I referred to as The Grand Equestrian Soap Opera. That wound up being split in two because it was just too many storylines to juggle; I took the wives' story and made that Acts of Love, and the rest of the cast became Life in Equestria. Now LiE is focused on characters usually relegated to the supporting cast, giving them all a rare moment of spotlight. But while AoL is one of my favorite stories (indeed, I do like it better than LiE), LiE is much more accurate to my vision of the Grand Equestrian Soap Opera. A novel where every character's arc blurs into every other character's arc. I hope you'll enjoy it, because I adore what I'm doing with it!
But there's always a catch, isn't there? I don't know that my motivation for WWB will last, sadly. I've just started a new original novel, and I want to work on that as well. If that comes back to be my main focus, well, it's the more important story to work on really. I don't have much to share on that though, not yet anyway. For now, I do hope I can get this story releasable by the end of the year, then start 2023 with the original novel full steam.
On that note, thank you to those who are still keeping tabs on me. I know things have slowed down, and I don't see them ever fully picking back up. But I want to see WWB continue, whether that's to an eventual end sooner rather than later or if it's to continue on for years to come, I want to keep this universe going for the time being. Having at least a few dedicated readers sticking with me through all of that means the world to me, so thank you all for being here!
I’ll make sure you get it done. Don’t worry
