    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

Don't mind me, just another Halo rant. · 3:51am Mar 18th, 2022

So tonight, Halo Infinite's 24-hour peak player population on Steam has fallen under 10,000.

Also, today, 343 announced their series of "deep dive" talks for the annual Game Developer's Conference.

To that I say, deep dives on what?

On how you damn-near wasted six years by hiring wave after wave of 18-month temp contractors for your flagship franchise?

On how this is the most barebones Halo release in the 20-year history of the franchise?

On how Big Team Battle was broken for the better part of two months while you sat there and scratched your heads?

On the logistics of adding a Team Deathmatch matchmaking hopper for an online first person shooter in 2022?

On how challenging it will be and how long it will take to rotate some cosmetics four fucking pixels to make sure they're centered?

The hype for Halo Infinite's early release was unreal. It was easily the strongest holiday release of the big three (the other two being Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty Vanguard).

They've managed to piss all that away in just four months. Absolutely, purely tragic.

"Live service" my pasty white ass.

I'm slowly moving from frustration to fascination. I am simply fascinated by how a studio can fuck up this royally, and management keeps their jobs.

Why do I have a feeling you're a little bit upset? :trollestia:

I stopped playing after like maybe a week or two. It’s very bland and I’m not paying money to unlock 90% of the cosmetics that you should get from playing the game. I had high hopes for this but again they destroyed it just like they did with halo 4. I doubt I’ll touch another 343i game again or another halo. Breaks my childhood heart

you know why it's so lackluster? Because people were going to buy it either way. Not the only reason but it's the one that kept them from taking the problems seriously.

The campaign has its moment, fairly solid, but multiplayer I've heard is rough. Then again, never played Halo multiplayer outside of co-op. Never had XBOX live

And just think, this is the "fixed" version. Imagine how much more of a train wreck it would be if they hadn't given them more time to fix it.

I'm not sure how it's changed but I remember the gameplay being pretty solid. The problem was the progression system was really dumb. Exp was rewarded through challenges that would require you to play a specific mode while you had no way to select that mode. What's worse is that there was usually no incentive to actually try and win the match.

this is why i feel like games that are “free to play” lack in other ares of the game cause they got to get that $ form some where, and that is usually from whales

honestly would rather pay$ for a quality experience then to get a free pile of shit

Man, don't even get me started on the campaign. It was a fucking dumpster fire that let me down in a huge way. It plays nice, but it skipped over the ending that all the Halo games were building up to and then when we got Infinite, it fast forwarded 6 months into the future just so the new staff could write their own Halo story. It's just like watching all the Marvel movies and then instead of giving us Endgame, they make another movie in the future after all the events in Endgame happened and then just trickle tiny cutscenes and flashbacks to give us a taste of what we could have played through. I heard they cut out 2/3rds of the campaign and it's really obvious.

And the multiplayer? Uninspired. All of the maps have NO connection to the campaign and the limited modes can only hold your attention for so long before you get bored. Since they made the multiplayer free, I've had to deal with so many hackers that it makes the game frustrating to play. This is easily the worst Halo game so far. I'd rather them spend another few years working on it to give us the ending to the story that we all deserve. The one they gave us was just complete and utter dogshit.

I think the writers were so desperate to distance themselves from Brian Reed's dumpster fire (Halo 5) that that was the reason we got what we got in Infinite.

TBF, from what I know, a good chunk of Halo multiplayer maps never had THAT much connection to the campaign. Speaking of, is Forge mode still in Infinite?

Makes some sense. Halo 5 was....yeah.

Perhaps the community's negativity towards H4's and H5's campaign drove the writers of Inf to abandon the story's ending? Regardless, I enjoyed H4 and H5. They could have been better for sure, but Inf threw it all away in favor of something new/different.

I do like the enemy faction kinda, and I enjoyed 4.

Remember when Reach launched with fucking everything?

Campaign solo and co-op. Firefight. Forge. Theater. Multiplayer with all the playlists you could want. Lengthy career progression and player investment system.

And with broad challenges across campaign, firefight, and multiplayer.

Yeah... those were simpler times.
