You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

Hey pones! Another month ahead of us, so let's jump right into things.

First, the biggest news is that the cover for Don't Bug me is finally almost done, and will be before its arrival on the 22nd, allowing that story to come to fimfiction! No promises about exactly when, perhaps a little earlier, we'll see.

Don't Bug Me is the story of a simple premise: what if every human who arrived in Equestria was a changeling, and they had been showing up for thousands of years? We'll see the latest group to be dumped in via cosmic bad luck, a summer adventure camp with all its staff and facilities just plopped into the mountains around Equestria.

Prepare for buggos, they are coming.

Other news isn't anything terribly new. Myths Like Us is still going on patreon, waiting for its own cover for wide release. But since that story isn't pony, it can't come to fimfiction. I'll make a blog about it when it gets posted to fanfiction.net or somewhere similar, but that's it.

For those who weren't following me back then. Myths Like Us is the sequel to a pokemon TF story written last year, 'Mew Like Me'. You can read the whole thing on fanfiction.net or in PDF form right now, if you haven't. If you'd like to read Myths Like Us, you don't have to be a patron, just visit the page here: https://www.patreon.com/RealStarscribe?filters[tag]=Myths%20Like%20Us&sort=published_at

Return to Sender continues as well. For those wondering why there's a single blue square--that's because the story is also being published monthly on Patreon, and has quite a significant backlog, so it still updates monthly on patreon and probably will until its conclusion.

Other than that, Frames of War and Sweet Sauce are both nearing their conclusions, so that's exciting.

There is also a hardcover print coming soon. Not the one I was hoping for--my long-time colleague Zutcha has decided to go his own way, so we won't be seeing covers from him for the foreseeable future. But I've found some awesome talents to take up the mantle. You'll be blown away with the results.

That does unfortunately mean that I'll have to put my ambitious to hardcover the Founders book on hiatus for the foreseeable future. I just can't imagine printing that book without Zutcha doing the cover, it would feel out of place with the LPoE hardcover. That project was partially about his art, I can't imagine seeing it without him.

But there are several other books I'd like to get printed. Here's a tiny sneak preview from a part of the WIP hardcover, if you can guess where we're going next.

The finished project is going to be amazing. I'm working with the same artist who brought us the cover for Through the Aurora on this hardcover, so it's gonna be awesome I have no doubt.

I have an active Discord community with tons of other writers. If you want a place to be motivated, or ask questions and chat about stories, or just watch bad movies with us at random times, this is the place: https://discord.gg/DMDrCrG

Lastly, I've included the descriptions and links to the current crop of ongoing monthly stories. They will make their way to fimfiction for all readers once complete, but in the meantime you could read the first chapter on my Patreon:

Dreamlands: The story of a batpony who ventures into the dreamlands to try and rescue Nightmare Moon from banishment and save her outcast tribe. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-45878879

Frames of War: A Warframe crossover in which an old-war relic is opened on Equestria, unleashing the Infestation. Their only hope may lie in the hooves of a single Tenno. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-frames-35421681

Tall Tale of Sweet Sauce: A comedy about an ancient Equestrian "villain" returning from his banishment to earth as a little colt. Adoption may get in the way of his mysterious scheme. Read at: https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-tall-46197856

Diplomatic Solution: Equestria is uplifted into a spacefaring society, not to be received into a perfect utopia, but as the last best hope against a conquering force of magical aliens, who are sweeping across the galaxy. Ponykind doesn't know much about war, but it does know how to make friends. Maybe there's a way to solve things that doesn't need weapons. https://www.patreon.com/posts/new-story-30394496

I'm glad *somebody* can schedule their writing and releases. Lately, I've been catching myself playing Raft at midnight and trying to get a couple minutes of writing afterward before I drop off. Good work.

You’re just incredible, man

You're an example of what authors can aspire to be, Star. Thank you for being you.
