Is Twilight Sparkle forgiving? · 7:02am Jan 7th, 2022
I'm having trouble believing that since she did try to kill Tirek and killed King Sombra with no remorse. I know she's forgiven Starlight, Sunset, Stygian, and Tempest before, but after thinking about it, it could be just because they proved useful and she didn’t see them as creatures with feelings, backstories, and motives like everyone else. She also doesn't seem to care about killing in general or believe that killing is wrong and too permanent to fix.
I'm just confused on how forgiving Twilight is and how much she cares about other creatures and murder in general. I know I've been bashing on Twilight and her friends for so long and I'm sorry about that, but I have a hard time figuring out their true morality aside from Fluttershy, who's the most forgiving out of the group.
What do you guys think?
This is actually a source of considerable debate within the fandom. Tirek and Sombra are technically a different case, as both of them were dealt with by rainbow magic or the Elements of Harmony, which appear to select what they think is the most appropriate response (Sombra was killed outright, whereas the Doom Legion was depowered).
Stygian I would argue is a case of genuine forgiveness, especially given he does not fit the criteria of 'useful to Equestria', but Tempest and Starlight do appear to be out of convenience, seeing as the former is a terrorist and the latter would have obliterated all of time and space had her plan succeeded;
I like how you didn't mention the Pinkie clones massacre as i called it. Also the whole 'turning storm king into stone statue and then shattering said stone statue to pieces and showing no feelings of remorse about it' thing. What else did i forget to add to the kill count? Oh yeah there was that one time...no wait actually no that's a different universe sorry
Wrong!!! Incorrect!!! Impossible!!!

Technically it was Tempest who petrified the Storm King by throwing herself in front of the orb as he was about to throw it and the cloud petrified them both. Him getting shattered was a product of inertia because of her lunging at him.
Technically, they are all pretty self serving.
Fluttershy was only interested in Calabrian because she honestly thought him a eco warrior. And she only talks to Ahuizotl because he had them cornered and was about to kill them. Discord, because she was flattered into it by Celestia. And she only interacts with Garble as a favor to Spike.
Yeah she's good at being nice, but she's only intentional about it with those she considers her friends, or if she has something to gain out of it, or is otherwise encouraged by others.

Technically Stygian was forgiven by pressure from Starlight, who only decided to forgive him because she took the Friendship Map's intervention as a sign that they were supposed to befriend him. So it really depends on how you look at it.
