I'm Ahead of Schedule Again! *Party* · 11:16pm Jan 5th, 2022
Finally, I have breathing room again! ... Just as long as I don't get writer's block.
So, I sent the last two weeks really hammering at the old word processor during the winter break and I made some great strides.
- Wrote a one-shot that was featured for five days.
- Finished Chapter 16
- Pretty much finished Chapter 17 (Final edit pending)
- Briefly detailed 3 major scenes in the story that are critical
- Committed the story arcs of key characters to notes
- Wrote a full timeline for the rest of the story from Starting after Chapter 16 all the way to the last chapter
That's a lot of heavy lifting done. I've got target set it stone with room for taking potshots at side plots and some of my biggest fears regarding potential walls that I was going to hit. For example, I knew what the biggest low of the story was going into the story, but I had no idea how it would get from that lowest point to the climax. Now I do (I think)! It feels good to get it all down and out of my head, like cleaning your house from top to bottom. It's a load off the ol' noggin.
Pour one out for the wonderfully patient TheAncientPolitzanian. Through rewrites and notes, I am pretty sure I bothered him with 30K+ words, both fresh and rewritten ones. It's why I go the extra mile when he asks me to help him with anything. Speaking of which, read Gone with the Light. It's good and will make me happy if you share the Electro-Love with him for helping make sure my GSP isn't god-awful.
So, what's next? Well, I might not have the energy to write today since in 30 minutes I'll be in an online meeting for work for seven hours. Maybe I'll work on Chapter 18 anyway... As always, thanks for reading and I hope you all had wonderful holiday and gave people hugs like I asked you to.
See you in the next writing blog!

P.S. Use the FimFiction's built-in Text-to-Speech functionality when you're editing your own work, even if that means importing it from Google Docs. It's a great feature that really helps speed up my personal proofreading. I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up when polishing your work!
