So, I haven't started drafting chapter 18, but I did just go back through and edit the previous 17 chapters to give myself a little refresher as well as throw a little more country into the descriptions when I could. Hard to do that and not break the flow at times, especially with the more emotionally charged scenes. It was a good revisit though and I'm glad I did it. I'm looking forward to hopping back into writing this story and have had an idea for the next chapter in my head for... geez almost a year now? Curse how long you took, Electro Swing! That being said, I'm not fully committed to the idea I had. Not to spoil it, but it was something I technically setup in a previous chapter, but I'm not sure if Chrysalis herself is ready to do something like I had in mind. We'll see how it plays out. If not, I can throw that one on the back burner and move on with another part of the story. There's still the second half of "All Bottled Up" to get to after all. Wonder how Guard de Lis' presence will affect how that one plays out?
Anyway, as for the physical release of Electro Swing, that's hit a bit of a snag as I'm trying to figure out LaTeX. I'm just about ready to throw in the towel and go back to Scribus, but seeing as how fast you can get everything formatted there versus how long it'd take me to set it up in Scribus, well let's just say it's very tempting to keep bashing my head against the wall trying to figure it out. No rush on it either since I don't even have the cover art for it. On top of that, I'd be self-publishing it on Lulu since the recommendation to use PFP is a non-starter. You don't ask them, they approach you. It makes complete sense considering how many requests they'd likely get to help publish ponybooks from the site. Just another daunting hurdle that I don't know how to handle with my very limited USD budget. I think I'll have to get a card I can use online with my yen instead of relying solely on my paltry American account.
Anyway, that's where I'm at right now. Oh, and I'm mostly better. 90% of the way there after COVID. I still have a lingering cough and a slight fever that won't go away, but I will be going to the doctor to see what's wrong tomorrow before getting back into writing the next chapter of Unchanging Truths. I'm so excited for that!
