Winter Holidate Bonus Chapter + What's Coming in January! · 11:09pm Dec 30th, 2021
Happy almost-New Year! In honor of the occasion and because the idea struck me, I've added an additional chapter to my Christmas Sciset fic "Sunset and Twilight's Winter Holidate" showing what happened to the two lovebirds later on in winter break. Very lighthearted and fluffy and I hope you enjoy!
As for 2022, I'm still not pursuing any big fics as of yet despite having an idea baking in my brain, partially because I'm still in the middle of my first watch of Friendship is Magic (just finished season 4!). However, I do have two small stories I'm hoping to write soon! For those who were fans of the drama and hurt/comfort in "Late Night Conversations", you might be excited to hear that one of them is another Sunset angst story, set shortly after the first Equestria Girls movie, where Sunset tries to explain her post-villainy identity crisis to a sympathetic Fluttershy and takes her first steps on the road to becoming an empath. To balance it out, the other idea is a lighthearted jokey fic similar to my recent light-crossover comedy "Rainbow Dash's Unforgettable Luncheon", where Sci-Twi hosts a game of Jeopardy! with (at this point in the development process) Pinkie Pie, Bulk Biceps and Derpy Hooves as contestants. Chaos ensues.

Hey, I should give you a bit of a head's up. After season four, FiM started to experience a decline. Sure, the remaining seasons had some pretty good moments too, but there was also a bit of controversy with a few storylines, particularly in the final two seasons.

Hey, you know how you like incorporating Simpsons gags into your stories? Well, here's one I think would be good. Say the Sweet Shoppe is selling a new beverage that Pinkie Pie developed and the Flim Flam brothers show up offering to buy it:
Pinkie Pie: No way, Jose! Do you know how much of my blood, sweat, and tears I put into this drink?
[Rainbow Dash, who is drinking said beverage, immediately spits it out]
Applejack: She didn't mean literally, Rainbow!

That feels like too specific of a scenario to bring up naturally if I didn't build a whole story around it, but now that you mention them, I feel like "Uncle Flim & Flam's Family Feedbag" might make a good background gag or Flashfic 150 idea.

Fair point. Maybe I'll find a way to use the line of dialogue myself. I do have to ask what that "feedbag" bit is a reference to, however.

Moe’s rebranded restaurant from “Bart Sells His Soul”. Definitely seems up the Flim-Flams’ alley, though they’d probably be able to hold their smiles together a little better than poor Moe. “It’s good-good-good-good, good-good-good!”
