    Gratitude

Hey, I'd just like to thank everyone who donated and helped me keep a roof over my head this month. I didn't expect anywhere near as swift or complete a response as I got, and I'm reminded of just how awesome a community this fandom is at its core. Seriously, you guys are lifesavers!

    Request for help

Okay, I despise having to do things like this, but I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a bind and I'm in need of help.

    Discord

Pretty much exactly what it says on the tin, I've set up a little Discord server for anyone who wants to discuss my various fanfics, along with a few generic sections such as artwork, shitposting, nsfw stuff, and gaming.

    Delay and Desist

Just a couple of notices for the moment. First, Fallout Girls is going to be delayed for a week as I'm taking a couple of days to recuperate from things.

Second, I think I've said this before, but as soon as I'm back on form I'll start working on most of my others stories too

Hey everyone, just a quick update on how things are.

First of all, the reason for my absence. Some of you may already know that I struggle with a few health issues, both mental and physical. Recently, both have taken a fairly severe turn for the worse, especially in the mental health department. Frankly, as much as I hate to admit it, there have been a number of occasions over the last few months where I nearly ended up making a rather permanent decision. I've been trying to get help, but unfortunately the mental health services in this country are somewhat lacking, and my place of work has been less than supportive during this time.

On a more positive note, I'm keeping myself plodding along at the moment, and I'm doing what I can to take life one step at a time. My wife and my pets are particularly sturdy anchors, and they're helping bring me along but by bit.

Now, horse-words. I've started writing again, which is a good distraction, but it's a slow process thanks to the fact that I'm having to write everything on my phone, and the aforementioned deteriorating physical issues are making even that a difficult and often painful process. As such, I'm going to be doing what I can, when I can.

What this all means is that my manner of writing is going to change. I'm going to focus on Fallout Girls first, and I'm going to get at least three chapters written before I start posting again. Whether I'll be posting weekly or every other week comes down to how well I manage.

When I'm back to posting again, I'm going to work on a single story at a time alongside Fallout Girls. First up will be my third installment in the Cards Against series, along with a handful of one-shots based on scenarios from Cards Against the Princesses. Once that's out if the way, I'll work on pumping out a chapter for each story in my library one at a time in order. Trixie's Commentary and Batwings may end up being a little slower than the others, but we'll see how that goes. Similarly, House of Owls and Ponies may see a slight delay, but that's because the events if the second season so far have actually made one of the plans I had for the story both easier to write and potentially much funnier, and I want to put a lot of focus in to make sure it's as good as I could possibly make it.

Anyway, I think that's everything. I'm hoping to be posting again sometime by the end of July, but I can't promise anything yet. See you all soon.

Hey you're back! It's good to hear from you. I won't ask how you've been, since you've just told us, but if there's anything we can do to help please let us know.

Absolutely looking forwards to more Cards Against, you've a great touch with those stories.

It's good to see you back online man, and any time you need to take a breather to work on your physical or mental health we completely understand. At the end of the day those are way more important then any horse stories (even though yours are absolutely amazing )

Look forward to seeing what you write and wish you luck and love in life

Oh jeez, now I feel bad for feeling impatient. I hope you get better dude, and I want you to know that while I would really appreciate what ever you write, because your stories are extremely good, I care about your health more.

Well now this is a blog post, it is nice to see you being okay at the moment. I just wished you where doing a bit better then you are at the moment. Things like depression really are the best at making you think that life will never get better. The way I dealt with that was understanding that it is not me who is saying that, but the depression itself. That way you can start separating the those thoughts from your thoughts and start diluting the former. Usually, depression will try to exploit your existing worries, no matter how small they are, and make a big deal out of it to get into your mind. A way I would recommend trying to counter that would be to debunk its claims with reasons that prove the claims are overblown.
This blog depressed me because it reminded me how bad the American healthcare system is. I have no idea how it got that way, but it shows something is seriously wrong if going to Canada and getting healthcare there is still cheaper than here. :facehoof: Anyway, it is nice to hear you are going to start trying to update again, I just ask that you don’t push yourself too hard for our sakes. IRL should always come first before a story, after all. If you need any help whatsoever, do feel free to ask, we will try to help where we can.
Hope you’re having a better day today,
SonicDJM

Hope that you feel better buddy. It's always a pleasant to see you getting back to writing. I adore your Card against series and hoping to read more of it.

Health matters more above all else so take of that matters at your own comfortable pace. We'll wait it out for as long as it takes for you to get heal up to get better so them writing chops return close to full force.

Take all the time you need, mate. We care about you.

I don't know what your depression is like, nor can I do anything to help with your physical issues.

Instead I'll just tell you something that I know everyone needs to think about when they're depressed: you matter. Everything that you are, everything that you can do, have done, or will do, it all matters even if it doesn't seem like it. It all adds up like seeds in a forest. If nothing else, when it hits you, remember that people you've never met are still saying "put yourself first." So, you've done something right.

I hope you improve.

Remember to take care of your self my dude. And remember as a famous song horse artist in this fandom has said: We're in this together.
Seriously though mental & physical health is nothing to laugh, sneeze, or even joke about . Take it one day at a time. You are important to your friends & family & not to mention a community that you can talk to . If you need to talk to someone look to everyone who is offering support for you .
Have a wonderful day and take care of yourself.

See you in 2022

I'm sure that everyone has told you take care of yourself, to try and take time to do what you can for your mental health, and to take it a day at a time. I want to tell you something as well. I'm glad that you're doing what you can, but don't beat yourself up if all you can manage is just getting up. Don't be mad if all you can handle doing is watching a little tv or reading a book. Don't consider yourself a failure for any reason. I was once told that anything worth doing is worth doing badly. I didn't get it, and it wasn't until I lost my parents and had to face my own demons that I finally understood.

Anything worth doing is worth doing badly simply means that doing something halfway, or less than halfway, is better than not doing. You've got folks that are fans on this platform, and if you want, you've got potential friends. I had two reasons for getting into this fandom. The first was that my brother used to watch the first gen MLP back in the 80's, and I watched it with him. So, watching MLP:FiM is kind of like watching it with him again. The second is that this is one of the most tolerant and honestly nice fandoms I've been in.

I'm still a huge comicbook geek, I love Marvel and DC, and I'm a huge supporter of BM/WW. The DC fandom tends to get pretty toxic when it comes to any kind of shipping. I more or less left for a while, was invited to the Pony fandom by a friend, and I stayed because I enjoyed talking with the people. I've made some amazing friends, and if you want to be, I'd like to count you as another. If you ever need to talk, PM/DM me. I'll reply. Every step is a victory, every action a battle won. Ad Victoriam brother, Ad Victoriam.
