    Update

So, after a bit of thinking, I made a slight change to Days of Ruin's title so readers wouldn't get confused between this story and the other Ladies of Darkness story.

Spike's World of Harems Geography: Zenthia · 4:41pm Jul 7th, 2021

Zenthia – An Oasis-desert kingdom of anubian jackals that resembles the ancient Egyptians. This kingdom once dominated the deserts and oases of their land but some malady had affected its people, where every year, the number of males being born began to decline and those that remained alive became sterile. Though many attempts have been made to understand and remedy this malady, all have failed and some believe that their gods of old have punished them. Due to the tragic loss of their males, the kingdom has been solely ruled by a series of Queens that have attempted to maintain the kingdom's unity and power but even that has begun to decline, threatening to send the entire kingdom into a state of anarchy. Even so, the kingdom is rich in culture, history, wealth and its people are experienced with their own form of magic. The kingdom's capital is Amenas, a magnificent pyramid city named after the first king of Zenthia. The City of Zela-Zolva is where Madame Eboni lives, a bustling city that’s the Zenthia equivalent of Las Pegasus. The albino jackals are normally found at the snowy cliff village of Mura, centered at the Sanctum of Nabris, the God of Oracles and Prophecies.

Anubian Jackals – Anthropomorphic jackals originating from the ancient kingdom of Zenthia who possess an Egyptian-like culture. Appearance-wise, the jackals are normally lean in their figures but most of the females are generally tall, have hour-glass figures and their males originally were tall and decently muscular. However, with the mysterious malady that has reduced the amount of males born to a near zero, jackal males are hardly seen now, if not at all, and therefore the kingdom is on the verge of extinction. In addition, a few aesthetic features differentiate the “type” of jackals, normally through they’re eye color and through their genitals (nipples, areolas etc.). A normal jackal’s distinction is pitch black with generic eye-color, sorceresses possess the color purple and members of the royal family possess the color gold or amber-gold and are able to wield a higher degree of magic. For some of their culture, it’s normal in jackal society to have piercings on their long ears and nipples. Armbands and wristbands are normal on either arm as a token of friendship, family or courtship. They also possess a pantheon of gods that govern the cosmos, yet to the shock of Equestrians and such, Mother Faust is not worshipped among them. Finally, hairstyles are often long, short or dreadlocked. There also exists a subspecies of albino jackals where they’re fur is snow white, their eyes are pure silver and are renowned seers and oracles. In terms of magic, the jackals possess a unique form of magic that relates to the desert and oases within their lands, often dubbed Sand Magic. Their relations to the other kingdoms are rather neutral, they don’t have long-lasting allies since they tend to stand on their own but their only real foes are a desert breed of Diamond Dog that make raids on their settlements. When it comes to Ponies of Equestria, they have mixed opinions, while they respect their abilities with magic and how modern they are, most find them personally naïve, childish and soft. In contrast, they get along very well with dragons, treating them with the highest respect.

Zenthia Pantheon – The Anubian people of Zenthia possess a pantheon of Gods that in ancient times shaped and governed the world with often lesser but powerful spirits and individuals that aided them. Nowadays, the practice or worship of the Zenthian gods have diminished but they are still respected and some are incorporated into sayings. A total of 7 are named.

· Nabris, God of Oracles – The Steward of Prophecies and Mapper of Stars, Nabris was worshipped by seers and Wiseman who imparts visions and prophecies to his followers of certain events, whether of the future or something more. It was the original followers of Nabris that first mapped the stars and constellations and shared it with the world. Nowadays, those who still practice Nabris’ ways are found in the Albino Jackals of Mura, where they maintain and archived all of his prophecies and star maps. Legend tells that Nabris favored the albinos of the Snowsand Clan and taught them how to read the stars for visions and travel.

· Damera, Goddess of Vengeance – The Silent Vindicator and Huntress of The Damned, Damera is a Huntress who tracks down those who have done heinous deeds, whether they be ordinary people to beasts to even her fellow gods. Legend has it, a fellow god, Riaga, attempted to usurp the rule of the world and enslave its inhabitants, decimating a kingdom during his attempt. Furious with this betrayal, Damera hunted the traitor god to the ends of the world until finally cornering him. She spent what felt like an eternity in punishing Riaga before executing him with her great Khopesh sword. The ancient Zenthia Jackals worshipped Damera as a punisher for wrongdoers and most indeed feared her wrath. Nowadays, Damera is used in a saying for cursing someone. For example: “May Damera damn you!”

· Aeyar, God of The Forge – The Architect and The Forge Father, Aeyar is the god who views all his creations, whether from a device, necklace to a sword, as works of art. The ancient followers of Aeyar were rumored to be taught from the god himself and they made wonders from their teachings. Though the original group that practiced Aeyar’s teachings, The Forgeblood Clan, disappeared, many of the Zenthian Jackals today use a saying whenever they come across an art piece or forge work of high quality, “Aeyar smiles upon you.”

· Marus, God of Battle – The Warrior Chief and The Defender, Marus is in legend the first warrior and general of Zenthia and was considered to be a military genius. Though Marus could be called a God of War, Marus himself never sought war or bloodshed, only the defense and protection of his home and brethren. Those who seek to harm either, will face his righteous wrath. However, Marus is very critical when it comes to waging war, teaching his followers to fight with honor, think with cunning and respect your victory. Marus was said to despise those who find glory in slaughter and had forsaken those who fought with no honor, often sending his Valkyrie-like warriors to pass punishment. The kingdom's original followers, the Honorborn Clan, were the kingdom's first military leadership and founded an academy that teaches strategy and trains new recruits in warfare. A few sayings have developed for Zenthians who are fighting: “Marus favors you”, “The Defender is with us” and “Fight with Honor forever”.

· Netuna, Goddess of Rain – The Oasis Maiden and Mother of Storms, it was Netuna’s water-bringing rain storms that birthed the large oases that the jackals make their homes. Legend tells that Netuna taught many Zenthian sorcerers how to command the water within the oases, allowing them to construct fresh clean rivers through the desert and connect the cities that developed within the oases. Also if necessary, they can summon rain storms during droughts. Those original followers belonged to the Rain Fang Clan.

· Xymor, God of Time – The Father of Magic and Warden of Time, it was Xymor that taught the ancient jackals magic and the wild energies of the desert. Xymor’s chief role is to ensure the Sands of Time run smoothly and prevent any anomalies from warping reality and therefore taught his followers, the Starfang Clan, how to gather lost sands that escaped from the Hourglass, using the magic he taught them. Nowadays, the descendants of the Starfang founded the Exarch Academy where they teach new students on magic techniques, most unknown to even the unicorns of the ponies. A few sayings have emerged in the modern age regarding Xymor and time; “Make it like Xymor” for if you are in a hurry.

· Rydira, Goddess of Law – The Judge and Matron of Justice, Rydira was the one who created the laws of the Zenthia lands, from the basic rules to prevent thievery to more serious laws regarding the royal family and its power. Rydira resented most forms of disorder and unlawful behavior, and therefore constructed laws to ensure peace and harmony. However, she can appear to be rigid, as Rydira dislikes those who take the laws into their own hands, especially if it’s for vengeance. However, if someone was framed for a crime they didn’t commit and the laws did not aid them, Rydira would exempt those individuals and work to correct those laws. Nothing woes her more than to see a law harm the innocent. She instructed her followers, the Dawnfall Clan, in knowing the laws and to create just laws to prevent the royal family from becoming tyrants and from the people from becoming anarchists. As the Zenthia Kingdom began to expand and prosper, the descendants of the Dawnfall were instrumental in creating the administration of the kingdom and its judicial system of the Judges.

Pantheon Controversy – Most of the races worship the great goddess Faust in some shape or form. However, the Zenthians are one of the very few who more or less worship their own pantheon of deities and while they acknowledge Faust as the ‘allmother’, they refuse to worship her nor would they put her in the center of their pantheon. Because of this, the other races often viewed the Zenthians as pagans and non-believers at best, heretics and blasphemers at worst.

Tear of Netuna Most of Zenthia's water source comes from a magical jewel called the Tear of Netuna. Said to be a gift from the goddess herself, Zenthian sorcerers are able to channel water from this great jewel. The Tear is Zenthia's most precious treasure and if it was stolen or worse, destroyed, then the kingdom might very well be doomed. What’s worse is that they no longer have the know-how to repair it, let alone make another one. Few centuries ago a rogue group made up of ponies, griffons, donkeys, zebras, abyssinians, and Saddle Arabians attempted to make off with the jewel but failed. This incident was one of the reasons why Zenthians are distrustful to most of the other races.
