MAPS as in minor-attracted person are trying to infiltrate the LGBT movement. These are the last kind of people you want in your group. They want to try to normalize pedophilia. I made some recent blog posts about the recent drama and I may have jumped the gun and I want to apologise if I spread false information. If MAPS are allowed to infiltrate the movement of the LGBT, it will receive backlash like no other, and set them back.
That's said, I'm still against the bullying PRlNCESS CADENCE received. Since it nearly brought them, to the point of suicide. I think the person may have felt guilty of what they are perhaps. However, they were better off seeking professional help than writing a story here. It was like kicking a bee hive.

But it does raise an interesting question. Putting aside the foalcon in your opinion where does the right of the individual to write post or publish what they want are infringed by the group or community that says no? Who gets to draw the line between acceptable or unacceptable? I am curious, this isn’t the first debate over what should or shouldn’t be written on Fimfic or any other writing group I suppose.

You can't go a foot on the site without some galaxy mind Genious waxing lyrical about their deep disdain for all things legislative in nature (which is decidedly totalitarian and undemocratic in nature, quite alien to a citizen of a nation with universal suffrage and the endowment of policymaking gifted to the public, as most republics feature - I reside in one of these.)

As far as I can tell, it shouldn't really matter if the depicted individual is fictional, and ENTIRELY fictional. Regardless of what sex, age (old or young), race, etc. The moment problems arise is when people start fantasizing about real individuals. That's just my take on this whole situation.
I've been around the blogs. Unanimous consensus among those I've seen expressing an opinion that bullying/threats are bad. Even with folks I frequently disagree with. Bit more nuance in what constitutes bullying, but broad acceptance that expressing an opinion on content isn't that.

Nobody gonna stop anyone from writing. Trying to would be futile. Pen and paper are cheap.

For traditional publishing, the editors-in-chief, but tempered by the will of the writers and other relevant staff as far as they can collectively bargain about what content should be allowed. For fimfiction, well, kinda the same. Throw in readers and bloggers. Add an oversized cup of subscribestar supporters. A dash of hosting company policies. Mix well and bake at 350⁰ for 25 minutes.
If there is broad consensus, most everyone is happy. If there's broad disagreement... Well, everyone remembers last summer. If there's a vocal minority, it depends on how much influence they have over the decision maker and how much opposition there is to their views.

Of all the various shades of sex and porn stories, foalcon has the greatest possibility for real harm, by orders of magnitude. I may find some kinks distasteful, but I can put up with them. Tag-based filtering would be nice so I can avoid seeing any story with Applejack, but I'm not holding my breath for that feature.

The current LGBT+ stuff is pretty clear on meaning with no real way to wrongly interpret it. Lesbian is just that, Gay is jsut that etc;
The problem with MAPS is, where you are from. Age of consent is different in virtually every country and can even be based on religious belief. In the UK it's 16, but is that too young? South Korea is 20. Germany is 14. Nigeria is 11! And in a fair few contries there is no age of conesnt, but you cannot give consent until you are married. Even the USA states have varying AoC. Is 16 considered MAP by those with 18 AoC? half the USA have the AoC at 16 so what would the people from states where its 18 say?
I'm against them joining for sure, it would set the movement back to the stone age and even more neo-nazis would start appearing and killing people, but it's not something you can blindly dive into like a madman and swing your sword around either you know. And thats just the real world.
