    It's That Time Again...

So, as of now with chapter 17 up, I have another two chapters complete. Chapter 19 requires a bit of editing before it’s ready, but it shan’t cause any delays. Though, on that note... I have some less-than-great news.

    An Amazing Thing

Hi all you guys, gals, and enby pals, I just wanted to share this thing I was made aware of. It's amazing and I appreciate it and the person who made it deserves an award. Seriously, she's awesome and this fits so damn well with the story, it's great. It's a homestuck parody, though, so if you're opposed to that in any way, maybe watch it anyway because it’s so good.

    Doing Stuff Again!

Well hello all you guys, gals, and non-binary pals! It's time for an update!

As many of you have known, depression has been a thing in my life for a long while. It still is and probably forever will be, but now, we might have found the right cocktail of meds, therapy, and other stuff to maybe, maybe get me really going again!

    Everfree 2023

    Hello everyone!

It's finally here! Unfortunately, there weren't any extra large plushies this year, so I bought a little Starlight instead. So, if you happen to see me wandering around, come say hello! I'll be hanging around the vendor hall and especially the Book Nook booth. If I'm not there, Dash or Corejo at the booth might have more info.

    Figuring Things Out

Hallo, everyone. I thought it might be a good idea to keep you all in the know as to where the writingses of Azure the Slow are. To get it out of the way, no, I'm not stopping or going on break again. Though, I guess I technically am on a break? Just not the same kind of break. Anyway, let me explain.

Writing Delay and Other Relatively Irrelevant Things · 3:19am May 20th, 2021

Hey everyone. I figure I should probably keep you all at least a little updated on what's going on since I somehow have several hundred people that clicked the little up vote button on my stories.

A little bit of sad news for some. The next chapter will be delayed a little, probably by a few weeks. Some things have come up and I... haven't been very interested in writing UL2 lately. That's not to say I'm done with it by any means, just that it's going to take a little longer to come out. But the good news to the bad is when you get a chapter next, you'll be getting both chapter 9 and chapter 10.

No TL;DR this time, because this was going to be a short blog post, but really, I'm horrible at anything short. So, since all the important stuff is up front, if any of you are curious about the personal life of little ol' Azure, here's a couple little peeks.

I'm currently going through therapy for dysthymia (mild, but long term depression). My therapist and I seem to have hit a point where it struck a nerve and caused a several-week, in-progress downward spike of depression. Contrary to how it sounds, this is a good thing, because it means it's an area we need to sort through. So that's going to be affecting my personal productivity for a bit as we dig deeper into that.

In another area, on top of writing, one of my other hobbies is crafting. I had an incident a six or so years back which put a mental damper on my ability to craft things, but I'm finally able to get back into it after some confrontation of my own self and my conceptions of failure (with help from my therapist).

I plan on doing some sewing projects to brush up on my skills and then jump into some of the projects I've been wanting to do for a while. Maybe by this time next year I'll have made good progress on (or completed) the illuminated EVA foam portal companion cube I've had sitting in parts for the last couple years, the plushes I've wanted to pattern for a while, the Warrior Celestia cosplay that started the aforementioned incident several years ago, and any other projects that catch my fancy.

That's not to say I'm amazing at crafting, but I certainly learn a lot every time I start one of these projects and I have a passion for taking things from thoughts and making them real. Plus, I'm a perfectionist, so I try to get things as good as possible, sometimes damning the consequences. Though, who knows, maybe I'll document one of these projects and put it up here as a blog post if there's any interest.

Or maybe I'll make a Discord server: Azure's Notions.

Anyway, I think I've met my blog-post-length quota. I need to get to sleep so I can go back to writing more Python code tomorrow for work.

I hope you all have a great [insert time of day/night here] and I shall see all you wonderful people at the next update.

Less than three,

Azure

I'll join the discord if you make it, I can't promise I will be on often, but I would love to be on as often as I can.

Also, would love to know/see what you are working on if you are comfortable with sharing it.

Thank you for pursuing your creative passion and sharing it with us. But please remember your passion and love, too many artists get burnt out working on things they no longer enjoy working on... some even leave the site entirely... So if, at some point, you need to take a break, all I ask is that you do something you enjoy while you do, don't force yourself. And remember, we are allways here for you if you need us.

Feel free to talk about anything that you want/need to. I can't promise I'll be helpful, but I will listen and care.

I'm never sure what to say with stuff like this, but good on you for making progress towards things that make you happy. As a perfectionist myself I know it can be a blessing and curse.

May you continue to find success in your life endeavors, and continue to improve in the fields that make you happy.

Sorry to hear about your dysthymia, but good that progress is being made there. Hope the crafting bug picks back up for you too.

And I know everybody here says this, but don't feel any audience pressure for even the once-a-month deadlines. The fic's so good that we're not going anywhere, as regards seeing it through to the end, same as yourself.

Anyway, I think I've met my blog-post-length quota. I need to get to sleep so I can go back to writing more Python code tomorrow for work.

Ah, a fellow coder, I see.

Anyway, take care of yourself, mate! That's what matters most, far more then even a fanfic that you've put as much stock into as this.

Great to see you're working through things. No worries about the chapter delay.
