So, you know the laughably bad US version of the Digimon movie? · 2:24pm May 15th, 2021
You know, the one that crammed three unrelated Digimon Adventure OVAs together into one incoherent plot?
That one.
Alright, so get this.
Last November, Udi Harpaz (composer of the American Digimon scores) put out the entire OST for the 2000 movie on Soundcloud.
Seeing how much was there, longtime fans took the first two Japanese films and put his scores over it, finding that they fit almost perfectly. That means Harpaz scored the movie without any editing or cuts.
Do you know what this means? This means that Adventure and Our War Game were going to be dubbed UNCUT, but somewhere along the editing process, someone at Fox Kids went "You know, we have to cut this down to make room for an Angela Anaconda short at the beginning."
Just... WHY?!? Lol
Heh
It feels like it was a decision made by someone who just wanted to be seen making a decision.
You say laughably bad. I say charmingly nostalgic.
Woah. Nice find!
I would have loved an uncut dub of the OVAs
It would've been cool to get an uncut dub of at least the first two movies.

No, stop.
You're gonna make me want to watch it again.

hums Kids in America

Yeah, Digimon had All Star before Shrek made it a meme.
In your face, Shrek.
It always annoyed me, as a kid, having to fast forward past that stupid short on our VHS copy to get to the movie. Now I have another reason to hate Angela Anaconda.

Honestly the dub movie was just fine until the 3rd part, which got edited less with precision and more with a meat cleaver. So yeah, I wouldn't mind a "Composer's cut" of just the first two parts.
Speaking of the dub movies, who do we have to hold hostage to finally get a DVD/Blu-ray compilation of the Dub versions of Diaboromon's Revenge through Island of Lost Digimon?
The most amazing thing about the dub is how an attempt to advertise Angela Anaconda managed to make a whole generation of people hate it. Which is a shame because it actually was a pretty decent show.
5519477 The sad thing is, that little promo of Angela has her looking better than she actually is in her own show.
I just want to be clear on this. Did they cut down the OVAs to make room for the Angela Anaconda short, or did they cut them down too much and then decided they needed the short to pad out the runtime? Because if it's the former, you would think someone should've been in that meeting to tell them, "You do realize people are paying to see this movie, right? When they find out we put a commercial in the movie—not in the previews before the movie, but in the actual movie—they're going to rip our heads off."
