A couple random fiction thoughts I had over the past few days.
In WALL-E, they never found another planet to settle on. Nowhere in WALL-E's universe is there another planet capable of supporting human life like Earth could. 
Willy Wonka is a Time Lord. Why else would he travel in a flying box and have his headquarters in an area that's bigger on the inside? And why has no one heard of Loompaland or the Oompa Loompas or all the creatures that menaced them? Because they don't actually come from our planet.
Just some things to ponder.
What about Tim Burton's version Willy Wonka? Because in that adaptation, Willy explains that he found the Oompa Loompas in the jungle and that they were a tribal community.

Just talking about the character in general. In the book we didn't see any sort of backstory for Wonka (something I think the Burton movie made an error in giving him one). Besides, it could just be another planet's jungle.
But really, that one was more of a joke than anything else.
The Great Glass Elevator is only capable of spaceflight in the books, and even then they only discover that by accident.

To tell the truth, I don't even think that it was ever the intent of the Axiom's makers to even *find* a new planet to settle on.

Hmmm, quite possibly. I mean, considering there logic was that it would just be "easier" for humanity to live on the starliners, I can't imagine they'd go to all that effort of colonization.
But still, I find the other implications more than a little unnerving.
