So I've been sitting on a giant pile of old ideas that I've either abandoned for time reasons or realized weren't very good and thus never got further than a simple description. Buuuut I've done enough work on them that I figured I'd share some of them here with you all. Maybe you'll learn something, or be inspired. We'll just have to see.
But before we begin, if you are a writer and want to expound on what I've written on a more conceptual level, I'd appreciate a nod like 'inspired by Jest' with a link to my page in the description of your fic. This isn't necessary, but it would be nice. If you want to straight-up use one of my stories then feel free to send me a message and we can talk about collaborating on something.
But with all that out of the way, let's peruse the graveyard of ideas together.
Starlight Glimmer Is Biosex?
Twilight finds out that Starlight is bisexual and has a very awkward conversation with Twilight who doesnt even know what sex is. Would fundementally be a comedy about Twilight being an oblivious nerd but also an ernest explanation of bisexuality. This was primarily a way to get out my thoughts on my own bisexuality.
Was a fun little idea but will likely never be anything more then that, an idea.
The Princesses of Dusk and Dawn

Twilight and Sunset are the next princesses who take over for Luna and Celestia. With the great Eclipse coming up, the ceremonial passing of the torch is nearing, but a strange force has begun to align a series of stones meant to concentrate the magic of the sun and moon for unknown reasons. Was a fun story abotu politics, Sunset and Twilight coming into their own, and adapting to this change over time.
Was a really fun idea and one I enjoyed planning, but ultimately I couldnt come up with anything meaningful I could say using this story. Maybe one day I'll return to it.
Princess Twilight, Alicorn of the void.
Was a short one off advneture fic about where the parasites came from (Ie NMM, etc.) This would be explored when Twilight is ascending but is infected by one of them at the key moment, binding them together. Was a fun one off that was like an episode of Twilight Sparkle Explains Everything.
Neat idea and fun to plan but really doesnt have a strong staying power. Unlikely to return to.
Pony Puppets
Was a story about how Twilight figures out that Celestia has manipulated her entire life. Though angry, she takes her revenge by messing with Celestia in her dreams. Was basicly a clopfic about how it seems real for the first bit and that Twilight is genuinely a sadistic maniac that is doing the naughty to Celestia but it finds out that its all a dream. Not only that but Twilight just cast a nightmare spell and didnt have any say in it, with Celestia's subconciouss making all that happen.
Was a weird idea that was probably a little too high concept for a glorified smutfic. Probably wont come back ot it.
Polished scales
Was a clopfic about Ember who accidently buys the "special services" at the spa. A little confused, she fucks the heck otu of the aloe twins, knocking them up. Had the usual bevy of stomach bulge, futa, and cumflation that I seem to enjoy.
Neat idea but ultimately nothing that hasnt been done before. Probably wont come back to it.
Pink Stripes.
Was another clopfic, but had a symbiote that Pinkie Pie uses to knock up her longtime girlfreind, Zecora. Usual kinks.
I love the ship and was honestly using the excuse of making it a clopfic in order to trick people into getting int oteh ship as well. :P After I realized that I shelved it. XD
A Phyrric Return
This one is really old, and basicly started as "I want to write a necromancy story about Twilight, how do I do that?" In this version Gryphonia invades, kills Twilight, but not before torturing her and giving her time to build up a spell that would ressurrect her a few years later. Stupidly edgy, and without any hook other then "skeleton Twilight!" I abandoned this story after finishing the first chapter. Though some of the ideas made up for this fic eventually made their way into First Law.
No chance of returning to this one as it basicly became First Law.
Our Mind.
Was a horrorfic exploring the concept of one mind being spread across multiple bodies. In essence the story was about the elements going haywire and fusing the main six into one conciousness. This mind was spread across six bodies, and would follow her as this new entity tried to get revenge while also adapting to its bizare existance.
Really fun idea, may return eventually but after I figure out a better foil, and more interesting enemy for them to face.
Just an Earth Pony
Nightmare Moon wins, and currupts the elements, while flinging Twilight's soul forward in time. The mane five turn into great beasts that carve up sections of Equestria as their own little feifdoms, Twilight who returns to life as an earth pony, has to free them and save the world from eternal darkness.
Was a really fun and interesting idea and one I kind of want to return to. With that being said the majority of ideas I came up for this fic eventually made their way into First Law so it may feel redundant at this point.
Invader Twilight
I fucking love invader zim and wanted to write an homage wherein Twilight basicly goes to earth and tries to take it over with the help of her ever helpful dragon Grrr. Was basicly just a bunch of invader zim jokes, pinky and the brain referances and some clever humour about humans rolled into a fic.
Not bad, but not really good enough to earn its own full story. Might return as a one shot eventually. It was really fun to plan.\
Infinitas.
Was about the infinite Twilight association taking a census of all realities. If you want to read the first half of the first chapter click here. The story was one part humour, and two parts exestential exploration of the concept of infinity. If that seems kind of out there then yeah It is. Which is why I didnt actually complete it. That and it felt like a retread of other alt universe Twilight stories out there.
Was fun, but felt derevitive and was thus shelved indefinitly.

The most titillating of the list for me.
Pony Puppets - looks like a good story of guilt, Crepusculo wouldn't even have known about the manipulation, Celestia might just be having a guilt attack causing her nightmares, but she could also have nightmares about what would have happened if she didn't.
Princesses of Dusk and Dawn, Polished Scales, Pink Stripes, and Our Mind all sound really fun
