I released two fics yesterday, Arrival and Partner:
I expected Arrival to do roughly as well as my other recent works, topping out at maybe 4-5 in the box if I'm lucky. But enough people liked it to get me to the very top of the box, which is something my most popular work so far, The 41-Second Goddess, failed to achieve (it lingered at #2 for a while).
Not only that, but Partner also made it to the box! So for a while I was lucky enough to have two stories in the box at once, topping out very briefly at 1 and 6:
But a lot of that has to do with timing. Partner wasn't a particularly well-received fic, and it definitely would not have made the box if it hadn't been a slow day with few stories posted. And Arrival was well-received and would have snagged #2 on most days, but it wouldn't have gotten #1 if I hadn't been lucky enough to post it on a day that two heavy-hitters of the week were just starting to sink in the box, and no heavy-hitters had posted since then.
Until a few hours ago, of course!
