Now already I can see stuff that's getting people in a tizzy; the G4 setting, the main character being described as an "activist"...but really, between that and an alleged "leaked" storyboard, we really still know next to nothing about this thing.
My advice? Sit back and wait until we hear more news. It's the only sensible thing we can do right now.
Glad to see you're taking the sensible approach to this. I'm not adverse to the news personally, but I am sure that morons out there are gonna be throwing hissy fits right and left over MLP "going woke"...
Just calm the hell down and wait for something concrete. I'm not interested in judging this until, at the very least, we have some kind of trailer, so at least then we can see the animation and voice acting in some capacity.
I'll admit I've aired a few concerns elsewhere (albeit regarding others' potential qualms rather than my own), but generally speaking? Yeah, I am still feeling fairly optimistic about all this.
All we can really do right now is, as you said, wait until we know more for certain.
How far ahead of a jump in time are we talking about here? Also, Pony Life and FiM take place in drastically different versions of the same world, so which version are the new show people going to be using? I think they're taking a huge risk using the same world because if the new show people mess it up, older fans are bound to notice. Then again, with a far enough jump forward in time, it's essentially a whole new world. I mean, Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are technically the same world, but the difference in the timeline made their settings so different from each other. I'm more concerned if they are going to be able to create characters that fans are going to love and connect with because honestly, Legend of Korra struggled a bit in that regard.
I still would’ve liked to see them do a sequel spin-off series starring the Student Six, to be honest. They’re characters whose stories are unfinished, and I think they have a perfect and strong potential.
On a side note to it all, I did find this information very interesting, although my only concern is that making a new MLP movie that’s computer-animated instead of hand-drawn might not be the right course. In other words, computer animation would honestly not be the right style for an MLP movie.
It’s too bad they’re not intending on continuing Equestria Girls, mainly until it gets a solid conclusion like FiM got.
Thanks for the info, Jade Dawn! I’m wondering who’s gonna be ruling at this point if they stray towards the FIM storyline - if it’s gonna be in more of a Pony Life world then I don’t think they’ll touch on it too much, but you never know.
It’s all very exciting
