That update took far too long, didn't it? /facehoof
I'm starting work on the next chapter after school (and volunteer work) tomorrow. Going to have to do some brainstorming first before pounding the keyboard. That's usually how I do write, but as the last few months showed, it might not be the most effective way to work. Choosing pre-readers was a good idea though. Thanks, thefluffyone and Shadow Fyre!
Anyway, I hope most of you enjoyed the chapter! I agree that it was rather bland, but I didn't want to rush the plot. Then again that's really my fault, since I took so long to update. No worries though; the next chapter (which I aim to have out MUCH, MUCH quicker than the last installment) will have plenty of sweet, sweet action. It will not be boring in the least.
So, in case anyone is wondering, the story's exact placement in the series timeline will likely be some time before the Royal Canterlot Wedding, though that's just an idea I'm working with right now and it may change if the need arises. We'll see about that, eh?
In conclusion, I leave you with the name of the next chapter: "A Short Cut to Cupcakes". How do y'all like them apples? Anyway, see you guys later!

EDIT: I'm also considering removing the "Dark" tag. Doesn't it refer to content such as very extreme violence/gore or rape? In that case it's probably going to have to go.

I don't mind the slow pace of the chapter. After all, this IS only chapter one. My only problem is the previous rate of updating. I hope it changes.

Don't remove the Dark tag. What you're thinking of is a limiting stereotype of the genre.gore would have the Gore tag. Graphic rape would have the Sex tag. It's pretty simple.
Na, the dark tag doesn't refer to that. That's the mature/gore tag.
Dark is different. Wanderer D >explained the tags< quite well in one of his numerous blog posts.
Dark = The Immortal Game... Except that DOES have quite a bit of blood, but that doesn't really go beyond the "dark" tag like say, Cheerilee's Garden (Or Cupcakes, take your pick). That is an example of "very extreme violence/gore or rape"... which has the dark tag, but it is also requires the Mature and Gore ratings/tag.
Dark = Violence, and many bad things.
Gore = Death, extreme violence, many horrible things.
