A theory about EG Rainbow Dash's super speed · 11:24pm Oct 7th, 2020

What if Rainbow Dash achieves super speed not by going very fast, but by simply slowing the passage of time in her frame of reference??
The MV for Run to Break Free heavily implies this.

So it's not her legs are somehow "supercharged" to go fast. Her magical geode somehow slows the surrounding time around her while she goes at normal jogging speed, which makes her go fast relative to her surroundings.

She's connected to the speed force, so she reacts to things in attoseconds in might take a normal person up to a second to see.

I've thought about that but it comes with a terrible cost.

If she moves at her normal speed but in a timeframe that travels at 10x speed, then she will also age at 10x the speed.

Her life will be a fast burning flash.
Aging at normal speed, but with a 10x multiplier due to her existence in that timeframe whenever she pours on her Rainbow speed.

Interesting, I never thought of that. So say she travels a very long distance (200 miles) in ten seconds flat when at a normal jogging speed. So in her time frame 200mi/6mph=33hrs have passed, versus 10 seconds.

So now she's about a day and a half older than the rest of her gang. Say she covers that very long distance every day. If every day she ages by an extra day, then after a year she ages by an extra year. 5 years later, she'd be 25 when the rest of the gang is 20.

Yes, it is significant, but provided she doesn't use her super speed too much or for travelling insanely long distances, then the effect is much smaller than this example.

Hmm, if she has the power to shift between timeframes, then perhaps she can also "slow down" in order to make up for sped up time.

Say she has nothing to do for a weekend so she sleeps for eight hours but draws that out by a factor of four.

So her 8 hour nap becomes 24 hours.
In one day she has only aged 8 hours.

How does she snap out of it ?
Uhh... she wakes up and realises that she is slowed down ?
