A few years into the future, Zenex had used his savings to buy a farm. He was turning a profit and was very happy with his new job. However, he was worried about what Hive would think.
Hive himself had become General of the Wasp Division. And Zenex worried that Hive’s new stature out shined his current one. So, for the longest, Zenex lied to Hive about being the Captain of a secret military team, and it was going well until Hive found out Zen’s team didn’t even exist. So, he paid a visit to Zenex’s farm, which he thought was just a house.
“Ah! Hivey!” Zenex flinched as he was feeding his chickens.
Hive blinked. “So this is your secret military team?”
“I... I...” Zenex whimpered, dropping the bag of chicken feed.
Hive sighed. “Is there something you’re not telling me?”
Zenex sighed and stepped out of the chicken pen. “I... I’m not the Captain of some military team... I’m... I’m...” Zenex looked at Hive. “I’m just a rancher!” Zenex began crying, wrapping his hooves around Hive. “I’m sorry I failed you!”
Hive blinked, then smiled. “Zenex... you didn’t fail me.”
Zenex looked up and sniffled. “W-What...? But I thought...”
“Zenex, I don’t care if you’re the king of the world, or a wandering trader.” Hive smiled more and wiped the nymph’s eyes. “You’ll always be my Zenny Boy,” he said, rubbing his head.
Zenex giggled and hugged him. “Heheh... love you Hivey...”
Hive chuckled and hugged back. “I... I love you too Zenny.”
