Stinger walked down the road, muttering to himself. “I can’t believe it... they just don’t understand...” he looked around. Then, he passed by a house with an open window. He didn’t think too much of it until...

“Heh, nice job,” a male voice chuckled.

“Thanks. I swindled that bucker like a con-pony,” a familiar sounding female voice said.

Stinger blinked and peered in. His eyes widened.

Silver was sitting on a bed, holding bits and checks, and a stallion was right beside her.

“Heh, great job Silv. That bug didn’t see it coming.”

She nodded, chuckling. “Nope. I can’t wait to see him some more. Dumb hole-hooves can’t see through the ruse.”

As the two laughed, they shared a kiss. As they did, Stinger noticed a ring on the stallion’s horn. He began to tear up. The two soon glanced at the window, both jumping.

Stinger ran off, crying softly. Silver followed behind. “Stingy wait! It’s not what it looks like!”

“I... I thought you could change...”

“Look, I know it looks bad, but...” she looked at the stallion, who was behind her. She stepped up. “I’m... I’m sor—”

Stinger punched her in the jaw. The mare flew back and the stallion drew a knife. Stinger growled and pulled out his sidehoof, before sending an arrow into his skull.

Silver cried and ran over to the dead unicorn. “You... you killed him!”

Stinger raised his sidehoof again, but the crossbow clicked, signifying the crossbow was empty. He cursed, slipping his weapon away. He walked off, leaving the widowed mare to wail over her dead husband.
