Nightmare Night Update and a Question for Readers · 5:34pm Jun 26th, 2020
I have around 5500 words on the new chapter and three of four sections completed, though the 4th--the all-important Peregrine section--I have yet to start. I expect to finish it this weekend; depending on how quickly it comes (no pun intended) there's at least an outside chance the chapter will launch on Sunday.
This will be milestone chapter #30 in a story I never dreamt would go so long. Clopfics are usually hard to keep going and interesting past a certain point, but this one seems to have managed to keep the interest of both me and my readers. Peregrine, for whatever reason, seems to have become a muse of sorts, as I've greatly enjoyed writing for him, and I want to make sure his climactic section here is worthy of him.
A final twist was promised, and will be delivered in it. This will be a usual four-section chapter, with two Twilight-turned-Midnight/Sunset/Delta sections, a third section that checks in on the pursuit of the Pie-sister pursued and sorely endangered Nightmare, and of course, the final taking of Peregrine Pacil and the final form he gains.
After this, I need to double back and hit the battle between Shadowdash and Night Owl, as well as the aftermath, to say nothing of the Discord/Flutterbat/Nightmarity scene. I may or may not get to a duel between Eclipse and Annie Smith at this rate, as it's getting time to head into the story finish.
And finally, a question: do folks want me to go back and tell the tale of how Pinkie converted her sisters and her parents? I've shied away from that to this point because I wasn't certain how well it would go over. So sound off in the comments if you have an opinion on the matter.
The conversion of the Pie sisters doesn't interest me much. I wouldn't be opposed to reading it but I'm fine if it's not included. From this blog I also get the impression that Flutterbat and Discord won't play a role in the next chapter which is unexpected.
I have no strong feelings about seeing Pinkie Pie convert her family.
The story thread I'm most interested in is the ultimate fate of Starlight Glimmer who has been stuck in limbo for quite some time as the infection spreads out in all directions. Over the years, Glim-Glam's stock has only ever gone up in value and with the show's official run at an end, she's basically granite at this stage, no offense to Limestone intended.
I just adore her now and more than anypony else, I want to see her arc build to a satisfying conclusion.

You're right, I neglected to mention FB and Discord.
That was forgetful of me, but I edited the blog to include it. That will either be the next chapter or the one after, depending on what I want to do next.
Not opposed is my stance. Normally I don't go for incest, but you're generally good at making hard sells. If you do it I'm confident you'll find a way to make it interesting, at least to yourself, which is what's important.
Well, it was my request so I'm obviously biased.
I'm interested mostly because Pinkie is the only one that didn't corrupt somepony on-screen, and it would be interesting see howshe handles her sisters (mostly Maud- she's awesome
) and her moher for some reason, but seriously, do how you feel about. Yes or no, the last thing is a project that you didn't put your heart in. Do as you please.

Appreciate the vote of confidence. One thing I've learned along the way is that if you're not into a scene, you can't do it justice in writing it. It has to be something that I enjoy, or it's just not going to work.
In this case, I'm pretty sure I could find the interest, but as I'll mention in response to the second comment below, there's other issues involved.

It's a valid point. The reason I haven't for now is a little annoying--the simple fact is that Pinkamena is very hard to write for and do her justice; I even punted a scene with her in The Lawyer and The Unicorn and let whatever happened happen off-screen. I did push the envelope with her in the latest Nightmare Night chapter I just posted, so see if you like what I did.
