I do believe the "Celestia being Richard's mother" thing was removed from the story's canon, as supported by a note in one of his later chapters in the first story.

Chrysalis: A person, who was once a monster, that chose the hard path of redemption due to finding the one person that she wishes to spend the rest of her life with.
Luna: A rabid dog/psychopath that deserves to be put down.
Celestia: A monster with a brain that tries to act like she is and was never a monster, and is mostly successful with the ignorant masses but not with those that have to face her.
