Original Fic Writers vs Fanfic Writers · 12:15pm May 4th, 2020
Because I exist in both worlds.
Orginal Fic Writers: Oh woe is me I have such terrible writer's block! I wrote 325 words today! The Great Equestrian Novel will never be complete!
FanFic Writers: Oh, hi, this is my Naruto/Garfield/Pony crossover, it's 900,000 words long and I started it in January. It's pretty awesome. Remember to fav and upvote!
I'm thinking of this in particular, which is quite enjoyable so far, but really fanfic writers in general don't seem to give a fuck and it is glorious.
True to form, I have yet to write an original novel I am happy with, but my Fallout: Equestria novel is over 90K words and on track to be finished in another 30K-40K. I have plenty of ideas/loose minor plot threads for a sequel, too.
Anyway, hope you all are well in these terrible times.
Those stories you linked are pretty neat. Hope you're doing alright and staying safe. These are trying times indeed. But we pony folk will stick together and make it through.
The ultimate example of this may be Songs of the Spheres, a 2.1 million word crossover of literally everything.
I'm holding up fairly well. Hope you can say the same.

Opens first chapter. It references the Gunslinger. Sighs, downloads, and sends to his reader.
My to-read pile just keeps getting larger. Happy problem I guess.

Dan right we will!
As much as I hate crossovers, I do really really enjoy fanfic because it's so much easier than original fics to tell within a few thousand words if ill like it or not. There's really no excuse to have a boring fanfic, you can write anything.
