    Yes I am alive

Sorry I've been so absent as of late. My new project kinda absorbed me a bit :twilightsheepish: Actually, for the past year ever since I decided to write a Warriors fanfiction I couldn't really think about much else as far as writing is concerned, even right now.

    It's been 10 years!

Yeah, it's been 10 years since I've made an account on this website and published the first two chapters of Rebirth of the Damned, my first story (you can't tell now because back then when you would edit chapters and save them then it would overwrite the date of publication).

Update on Rebirth of the Damned and some thoughts on WoW stuff · 9:24pm Jan 28th, 2020

So, everybody who's been waiting for the chapter 167 of Rebirth of the Damned, I've got good news, the chapter is finished^^ Just waiting for the editing team to get it done and then it will be published^^

Super sorry that it has been so long since the previous chapter, the two chapters for Infinite Potential turned out ridiculously long, and that was on top of work had slightly overcome me. Buuut I've whined about all that already in the previous blog posts :twilightsheepish:

Will be working on chapter 168 next, and hopefully soon; but as most of you had figured out, I will very soon have my attention occupied on other activities, as Warcraft III Reforged comes out tonight^^ Yeah, I am actually installing it as I am typing this :rainbowwild: I was going to play WoW instead and leave installing for when I fall asleep, but for whatever reason WoW started another update when I logged off to go walk the dog... and shows me an error halfway through -_- Last time that happened I had to leave for it be for the next day, dunno what exactly fixed it. Which I am slightly pissed about, as I hadn't done mythic keystone this weekend, been busy with writing and doing the new raid. But oh well. So instead I started installing Reforged and I'm writing this blog post :twilightsheepish:

Speaking of new raid, I love it^^ Actually made me want to raid again, and I hadn't raided since Battle for Dazar'alor. Yeah, didn't raid Eternal Palace, just did it on LFR to get the quest done. Dunno really why, the mechanics and all that seemed fun and all, but I was just... out of it? Didn't want to get stuck for a few hours in raid when I could get better gear from mythic keystone dungeons in much shorter time. And to be honest, there is nothing really that would make me want to do raid multiple times. In MoP, we had the legendary questline from Wrathion for the cloaks. In WoD, it was Khadgar and the rings. In Legion, we had Kalecgos and the artifact appearance for the first raids, and for Antorus raid we had some unique weapons appearances, and in all raids there were armor sets unique for each class. In BfA not only we have no more sets, except for one for each type of set, but also no legendary questline whatsoever. I know there were quite a lot of players who didn't like those, but I personally enjoyed them and gave me a sense of accomplishment that pushed me to do it. But I digress.

Now, the elephant in the room, the end cinematic. Yeah, it's... not great. I mean, I actually don't mind how it plays out, first with the game rendered one showing us firing Death Star's laser at N'zoth (I honestly don't understand why majority of people's first thought was Kamehameha from Dragon Ball when watching those. Here are my first thoughts I had when watching the cinematic: Dragon Soul, Death Star, Iron Man chest laser -_-), as thanks to that we see that it was US that dealt the finishing blow. Possible all those people complaining about Thrall stealing our kill in Dragon Soul raid had caused Blizzard to make it that way. Then we see N'zoth die and most of Ny'alotha be destroyed in a way very reminescant of Sauron and Barad-dur in Lord of the Rings. Which wasn't THAT surprising, considering how much inspiration Warcraft drew from Tolkien's work. Still, I have no problem with that. But then... it's over. Just that. No view of the destroyed city, no sighs of relief from Wrathion or Magni, nothing. So... I am disappointed. Admittedly, this expansion had a LOT of cinematics, more than any other expansion before, so I won't call it the worst expansion based on just this one cinematic, even if it was the final one. But I think it clearly shows that they were rushed to finish BfA and are focusing on Shadowlands instead.

I'll probably make a blog post regarding my thoughts and hopes regarding Shadowlands sometime, and maybe even short review of Battle for Azeroth, and maybe even shorter reviews of previous expansion for comparison...

Now, back to 8.3, I'm really enjoying the Horrific Visions, they are a great idea, though it's a pity that it costs so much to get into them. But oh well, I can understand that. Also, I wish we would have more than just visions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar. I mean, I love both cities, but imagine if we would get visions of all capital cities? Like, imagine how amazing would Horrific Vision of Silvermoon City look like! Considering how nowadays people don't visit those other capital cities, it would be fun idea to get them interested in them again.

Speaking of more content, yeah, I am severly disappointed that all we got were Ny'alotha raid and the assaults in Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossom. Just one zone of the Black Empire would be great, we go through that portal in Black Empire assault to a zone where entrance to the raid would be. But amittedly, I suppose they couldn't make up any kind of progression we would go through in such zone that would make sense, no bases to establish (as lorewise we can go into it because of the cloak that resist corruption, so we can't bring our factions armies to help) that would make it feel like military expedition like we had on Argus. But still, I am disappointed, and I hope that either N'zoth isn't completely dead or that C'thun or Yogg-Saron will get released at some point in the future too, so that MAYBE we would get Black Empire proper. With, like, a crater in the place where Ny'alotha was or something.

It sucks though that this was all that we got out of the city and the Old God that had been build up since Wrath of the Lich King (so about 10 years). But lets leave all that for thoughts about the expansion and such.

Hm, I guess that's all for WoW related news.

Some others stuff: finally got around watching the very popular anime My Hero Academia, was putting it off because Naruto fillers really destroyed anime for me. It wasn't that I thought that anime was bad now or something, especially since I was still watching Attack on Titan, I just didn't want to put myself through any new series. But after watching some animated series recently I figured that I might as well watch anime, and one of my editors Time Princess suggested My Hero Academia. And boy am I glad she did, because it is AWESOME! I highly recommend it^^

And speaking of recommendation, there is a new show that recently came up that I absolutely love: Harley Quinn.

Hot DAMN that show is ridiculously funny and amazing^^ Seriously, the best way to describe is to say that it's like DC characters were put into a show that was a mixture of Archer and Rick and Morty.

Hm, I don't think I have any other new info to talk about. Hope you are all doing well, and that you'll enjoy the newest Rebirth chapter when it comes out, which I hope is soon^^

BfA to me seems to have flipped for me. This systems absolutely sucked at the start and I loved the Story (playing Alliance) I love the zones, the music, and Jaina's story line. However as the expansion progressed the systems improved somewhat and the story started to flag. Now I love the story of the raid itself, but as a whole the story kinda died for me. The Black Empire should've been it's own expansion. There is more than enough lore in the raid itself, no less I love some of the systems in 8.3, especially the Horrific Visions. However back to the story again. It seems almost tacked on. We have no lead in to Shadowlands and they have stated that there's not going to be an 8.3.5 so.... as a whole I'm disappointed with BfA. Won't stop me playing WoW though.

hello there borsuq!

soooo... how's infinite potential goin'? :derpytongue2: :pinkiehappy:

I didn't really care enough about N'zoth during BFA and what I really wanted to see was more about whats going to happen to Kul'Tiras and Zandalar now. Both Island nations were interesting.
And what are Odyn and his chums in Ulduar doing during the patch!!!! The only titanic watcher who appears is Ra'den wo instantly gets corrupted and killed by us in the raid......:twilightangry2:

BFA was a disappointment for me. In so many ways it felt like Mists 2.0. For all its talk of going back to basics, cheering for your faction, and so on it just felt hollow. I liked what they did with Jaina, Zandilar, and the first raid was interesting.

However the retcons to Slyvanas, the 'should we do something? We should do something' mentality of the Horde, and so on hurt the story. Plus the ending of said war just felt hollow like Blizzard just wanted to end it as fast as they could. Personally I have always felt that the war should have taken the 'both sides are right, both sides are wrong' approach while healing both of the main women in the story. Like having both of them moving past the tragedies in their parts. Hell, imagine if Slyvanas and Jaina got into a fight and Arthus was brought up?

Also I feel like the last patches feel like they had enough story to be their own expansions.

It's kind of weird to think of just how much has happened in WoW since the point I stopped playing or having much interaction with it...
Glad it sounds like you're mostly enjoying it, though. :)

technically we can still go to the real black empire seeing as that was just pretty much a solid illusion built around N'zoth and that's why killing N'zoth destroys it or at least that's the gist of how I thought visions worked. I may have completely misinterpreted that but I don't know.

What do you think of the different types of Aqir? Was the Hivemind boss of Ny'alotha interesting in that the Aqir has two leaders that control the Aqir swarms? Do you think that the Aqir we seen in 8.3 are N'zoth's breed of Aqir and that the different Old Gods have different breeds of Aqir? It could be interesting if that is true.

Looking through 8.3 and thinking about Rebirth, I feel like this patch alone in BfA would fit in your story like glove to a hand. I know you intend to stop at Legion but that doesn't stop me from imagining how 8.3 addresses several bullet points in your story such as comparing the Changelings to the Aqir.

:derpytongue2:
Taking a little break from that, had written two chapters in a row for it, one of which was ridiculously long. I think I'll write 2 or 3 more chapters for Rebirth of the Damned and 1 for Stars in the Making first, then I will start working on the next chapter for Infinite Potential. Soo... assuming I would be able to get my sh*t together I would start working on it in March, chapter would probably come out sometime in April or May if it turns out to be another long one.

5195407
ok. so.. be prepared for it around July... thanks for reply Borsuq!

5193739
Agreed. After 8.2, you can clearly see that they wanted the story to be over quickly. They wrapped up Alliance-Horde conflict with a short questline, and then they wrapped up N'zoth almost equally quickly. I'm not sure if this is fault of the layoffs in Blizzard or if they moved all their resources to work on Shadowlands, but it really looks like they simply didn't have enough people to work on BfA after Nazjatar :/ Regarding 8.3.5. being cancelled, we will AT LEAST apparently get a new novel to read, called Shadows Rising, which looks very interesting. However, while the novel will probably be really great, without any representation of it in the game people will certainly complain, like how they had with Warlords of Draenor about not showing that Garrosh escaped and what not.

5193798
Yeah, both nations were kinda forgotten after patch 8.1.5 :applejackunsure: At least it looks like in the upcoming novel (mentioned above) they plan to show Zandalar some more at the very least.

Hopefully Odyn will play part in the next expansion, with this whole story about his sacrificing an eye to some being in Shadowlands and what not. Ra-den getting corrupted was not a surprise; the dude had lost hope long before he was even imprisoned by the Thunder King and did nothing at all. We might had rekindled his hope a bit, but when he got dragged to N'zoth, you know, the being literally called "the Corruptor", he was doomed to be turned.

5193828
Well, to be fair, the reasons for the Horde starting the war were very much different than they had in MoP (also, technically, all they did was escalate it immensily, they were in war since Wrathgate and Battle for Undercity), back then it was mostly Garrosh being a violent prick. At the very least, Sylvanas played on the people of the Horde's feelings towards Alliance, their fears and hatreds (though sadly, it was mostly showed in novels instead of the games).

Regarding Sylvanas' "retcons"; regarding most stuff, those aren't retcons, as she was always an evil bitch but fans somehow missed those. Now, what I will agree is a retcon is that she apparently had been working with the Jailor since her death in Edge of Night, and MAYBE about her ordering to deploy Blight at Wrathgate; however, as I think I mentioned at some point, I could totally believe that one. For crying out loud, she had ordered Blight to be made in the first place and had human tests subjects. Anyway, here's a thing about retcons; if they make more sense than what had been originally said, then I don't mind them. Like, the first example coming to my mind, how in Warlords we learned that Frostwolves Clan lived in Frostfire Ridge and only migrated to Nagrand in winter (unlike how it was said in Rise of the Horde that they lived there all the time), which makes much more sense because why the hell would they be called FROSTwolves (yes, they got their name from their bonds to those animals, but why would animals called frostwolves live in a place where there is no snow?)! Now, mind you, I am not saying that this is the case with this deal thing. However, at the present moment we don't know enough about this deal or the Jailor itself to judge that. So I am giving them a benefit of a doubt.
I think the Horde at first doesn't do much against Sylvanas because, like earlier with Garrosh, they main concern is that they are at war with Alliance, and given the mistrust between two factions they cannot be sure if they would get rid of Sylvanas if that would end the war; as we see in BfA's "ending", Tyrande is clearly reluctant to forgive the Horde, although at the very least her main concern seems to be to kill Sylvanas rather than continuing the war (as so many people apperently missed :facehoof:)
Yeah, I was hoping that the story would stick to the conflict that Blizzard had told us this expansion is about, like I mentioned a few times. I had hoped that the final raid would be a sort of giant battle between the two factions, that would exhaust their forces so much that they would be forced to stop fighting anyway, and whatever threat would come next would be covered in next patch.
Actually, Jaina briefly mentions that she had used to feel pity for Sylvanas for what Arthas did to her, after one of the parts of the war campaign. But yeah, it would be fun to see them actually interact.

5194051
Yeah, I think part of the reason why I am keeping up to date with WoW through all the expansions and patches is so that I won't miss out on all the changes :rainbowlaugh:
Thanks^^ It helps that there is so much to do even if you get bored of some aspects. Like, for now I am focusing on my main character, wanna finish the new raid then eventually start working on heroic version to get "ahead of the curve" achievement (and a mount since this is the last raid of the expansion and for three expansions straight this has always been a case of getting a mount for killing end boss of last raid of expansion on heroic difficulty and I got both of the previous ones), as well as doing those Horrific Visions I mentioned which are super fun mechanically. But, if I get bored, I can level up some of my alts; recently I made one from the allied races and leveled it up through all those all zones that I hadn't visited in years. I had the most fun in Pandaria, played the whole story from two zones that I considered boring back during the expansion they came out in (partially because I played all my alt through it), and had a really great time^^
Speaking of alts, with one of the new races being, lets say, cybernatically inclined, I was thinking about making a new character called Blackjack :rainbowlaugh:
gamepedia.cursecdn.com/wowpedia/3/32/Mechagnome_%28playable%29.jpg
However, I cannot decide which class would fit Blackjack's character best. My editor suggested mage, but she doesn't start developing in the magical area until later parts of PH. Hunter would be good too, since they are the only class that can use guns. However, monks would be good as well, as Blackjack can kick ass with her bare hooves and is a bit of a drinker. Rogue, Warrior... I think about the only classes the Mechagnomes can be that she wouldn't fit into would be a priest and a warlock.
(Also, I looked up their customization options, the available hairstyles and colors do not include anything similar to Blackjack's :fluttershysad:)

5194408
Yeah, I think you might be right, but honestly, the way this whole patch was written in the game Blizzard might go either way in the future; which I think might have been their intention, leave themselves an out in case they would want to bring up Black Empire again. I think Ny'alotha at the very least was real though, but time will tell.

5194515
I find it hilarious that after years of me hoping we would getting more Nerubian content, Blizzard rather brought up the original race that had supposedly died out/evolved into insectoids we have today :rainbowlaugh: It was certainly interesting seeing them. I would imagine each Old Gods had some different "variation" of aqir serving under them, since the Faceless ones also have some small differences between themselves (and we see it especially with those c'thraxx that Yog-Saron was especially mentioned of having created). However, at the same time, I don't think those differences would be too big. It took separation into three kingdoms near prisons of their Old Gods for about 16 thousand years for them to evolve into Qiraji, Nerubians and Mantid; if Aqir had originally came in different breeds, I would think they would undergo such evolution much sooner, and wouldn't work well together under a c'thraxx leadership in their war against the troll empire... but I digress. It could have been that those Aqir he found were from the same breed, but then why would they be so eager to serve another Old God?
Also, a side note, I kinda wish that during the Uldum Assault we would get Qiraji instead of Aqir. I think that Quiraji are the offshot of Aqir we know least about, which is a pity.

5195117
Just because I don't intend to continue Rebirth story past Legion, doesn't mean I wouldn't use some of the next expansions content. Hell, if I feel like it would be beneficial to the story (and could find a way for it to make sense), I could have ponies invading Ny'alotha in next arc and you wouldn't stop me!

5199972
I agree with how the war started was different. Garrosh lived his early childhood within the shadow of the original Horde, seeing pride in being an Orc and dominating everything as good rather than the horrible things that they did as well as the horrible results. Sylvanas was at least smart enough to realize that everybody could help with the Horde, even when the Zandilari lost their navy she didn't abandon them. However the rest of the expansion felt all too similar. Evil Warchief, Alliance good, other Horde leaders doing a 'We should do something' and 'Should we do something' bit until finally they start a resistance. There was no real moral grey with what they did in terms of overall leadership.

Here are two examples. When Sylvanas finds Jaina's brother, she makes him an undead on the spot and begins to convince him to join her of his own free will. Horde Players can see him in various parts of the ship as the champian goes on: in a cell, a room talking to Sylvanas, maybe walking around parts of the city with other Forsaken. The overall idea being to use him to captain one of the new Horde flagships against the Alliance to destroy their moral or make them act rashly. Then when the King dies, Sylvanas decides that things aren't moving fast enough. That they lost too many members of the Horde to do things the right way. Baine can argue against the idea on moral grounds but Sylvanas uses a more logical stance that if they play nicely more of the Horde will be killed. What is one corpse when compared to all they can save? Also show that this does affect her, that she is seeing herself as becoming more like the two she hated: Garrosh and Arthus. As for the Alliance, Surfang could have been brainwashed to starting his rebellion by members of the Alliance. Think about it. We knew Andwin would never do that unless push came to shove. There could have been members within the Alliance that thought he was being too soft and took it upon themselves to do this in his name. Makes more sense than he can lead the Alliance and having other defer to him right off the bat.

The Jailor is one thing, but the Wraithgate is another for me since it is such a big coincidence. Sylvanas ordered the blight fired and then the Undercity just happened to be invaded with Putress betraying her? I get they could have been watching her, planning around her plans, but wouldn't it have been smarter for the Legion to just let Sylvanas take the fall and allow in fighting within the Horde before making their move?

I guess I wish that they had kept this Alliance vs Horde all the way to the end while going a different route. Maybe having the Naga being the final enemies while discovering that they were the ones who burned instead of Sylvanas

5199972
Yeah, it would have been interesting. What do you think about Ny'alotha? Which boss do you like the most?

5200012
Hm, that way the story would indeed be more "morally gray". However, this whole "morally gray" thing was threw out of the window right off the bat with Sylvanas being the warchief. She's evil, been evil since Frozen Throne and whatever doubts we might have had were abandoned when Cataclysm came and she started raising dead humans. For this conflict to be morally gray somebody else would have to be the warchief. Vol'jin could have survived, for example, but it could have been somebody else. But anyway, the war could have still started. The Alliance would be still distrustful of the Horde after they run away from Broken Shore, and then when Azerite was discovered, tensions would still raise as both factions would realize just how destructive it could be, and something would cause one side to attack first. Hell, the Horde could have tried taking Darnassus still, using the same reasoning Sylvanas convinced Saurfang to it, but then it would have caught on fire because of Azerite, maybe Horde used new weapons on the Alliance fleet and the explosion turned out much bigger and Teldrassil caught on fire (which was what I expected to happen before Sylvanas cinematic came out in War of Thorns), and then the everybody would go all out afterwards.

(Side note, the other Alliance leaders don't "defer to him". Stormwind simply has the biggest armies and most resources, which is why other factions are so dependant on it. If they don't like his decisions, they do their own thing, like we see in Darkshore with the night elves and Gilneans being by themselves without other Alliance forces.)

Varimathras was her right hand man, even if she didn't trust him completely he would have access to most military decisions, and Putress was part of Royal Apothecary Society that developed the Blight; it's not a stretch to think that they would find out about the plan. Now, in that scenario where they "let Sylvanas take the fall", what do you think would happen to Varimathras? That the Horde, and more importantly, its Warchief Thrall, who hates demons for what they had done to his people, would just let him be? No, he would take the opportunity to be rid of Varimathras, which in all honesty I was surprised that had never came up before. Undercity would be easily taken, as they had send out most of their forces to Northrend. Assuming Varimathras would have fled, he would be hunted down. But by staging a coup, he had taken control of the remaining forces (or at least, planned to, since a lot had fled with Sylvanas; if I remember correctly, he had tried to kill her too), and was able to open up portals to summon Legion's forces, bolstering his defenses. If given enough time, he would probably be able to fend off any force the Horde or Alliance could send at him while preparing a way for another Legion invasion. He didn't count on Alliance finding out what had happened and attacking Undercity (and probably not through "secret" passage that Varian knew from the time he had lived in Lordaeron) at the same time that Horde would attack. He probably expected them to retaliate against the Horde, gather forces to attack Orgrimmar or some other targets that were easier to reach than Undercity.

5200038
Well in the 'Let Sylvanas take the fall' it would have been easy. All Varimathras has to do is rejoin the Legion or just go anywhere ease. He can possess people or disguise himself. Just let Sylvanas take the fall, let the Alliance be at the the Horde's throats, and the Legion is weakening the greatest resistance to their invasion. Heck, he could have gone to the Broken Isles and started their comeback.

As for the Morally Grey again it could have worked even with Sylvanas being Warchief. When I first heard of this expansion, I had my own idea of how it should go based on what I heard about it. First, the Alliance gets together and decides as a group to take Sylvanas out. Andwen already disliked her from the book and really no one else likes her either. With her making new weapons it would be easy for them to justify taking just her out and exposing any research she was doing to the rest of the Horde. However, as they approach, the other Horde leaders are in the Undercity and confronting Sylvanas about that same issue. She tells them that she has a plan for dealing with the Alliance, but after all the shit they have been through the last few years their not interested. They make the aruement that now is the time to rest, regroup, and rebuild to the point where Sylvanas admits they have a point. Remember that she was a Ranger General so she knows the value of time to prepare. Maybe even having some Forsaken studying the Azorite to see if it might help them come back to life or something! Then, the Undercity is attacked. The leaders of the Horde rush to the top of the towers and Sylvanas see's a scar heading right towards her front door much like the one Arthus brought with the Scourge! She readies for war on the spot, anger fueling her alone with the other leaders as they watch Worgen killing fleeing Forsaken who are clearly not fighters. When Andwen arrives he see's to his horror the other leaders watching him and how this must now look. From there things play out just like in the game except Jiana drops a large ball of ice to destroy the Undercity, making Sylvanas' decision to burn down the Night Elf capital make more sense

From them on, make it about both sides coming to grips that neither are innocent in this fight. Make Sylvanas realize just what a shitty person she has become. We have seen in the books that she does regret things and misses her sisters. At the same time the stuff with Jiana was done well, but maybe have the too met up. A fight between them would have been interesting plus throw in Talanji who calls Jiana butcher.

5199972
Understandable. :)

Glad it sounds like that's working out for you!

"Speaking of alts, with one of the new races being, lets say, cybernatically inclined, I was thinking about making a new character called Blackjack :rainbowlaugh:"
Hah. :D

"Hunter would be good too, since they are the only class that can use guns."
I remember the old days, when any class could use guns, and we needed actual bullets for them too! And somehow the road up to Ironforge was uphill both ways. :D

Not sure what class would be best there, though, sorry.

Ah, and sorry about the customization options not fitting well.

How did those comments escape from my notice? Ugh... sorry for late reply.
5200030
Anyway, I think I liked Wrathion the most, he has a neat design. Sadly though I hadn't played much of WoW as of late, grew distant from it again. As for Nyalotha itself, I think they've done as about good job they could with how little they apparently had. Wish though there was something that would keep me coming back to the raid (heck, I hadn't even managed to clear it before I lost interest again), like legendary questlines of MoP and WoD. But oh well.

5200104
Again, if he'd let Sylvanas take the fall, he would be caught up with her with whatever punishment the Horde would throw at them. Sylvanas didn't care, because all she wanted was to kill Arthas. Varimathras had much more to lose (as we learned in 7.3 what waited for him for his failures). With Undercity forces depleted, about the only way he could survive was to have Legion backing his defenses up, and he knew Sylvanas wouldn't allow anything of that sort. And he needed a safe base of operations in order to open more portals. As for the Tomb of Sargeras, it was confirmed in the audio drama that after events of Frozen Throne the Wardens sealed up the Tomb and were keeping an eye on it. Being the cowards that he was, I doubt Varimathras would exchange the comfortable place he had in Undercity with some forces already serving him for the empty tomb.

You are forgetting the importance of keeping characters IN character. Anduin would never start a war first, at least not against the Horde. In the novel he even gives Sylvanas the benefit of a doubt, and wrongly believes that she actually cares for Forsaken "like a mother". She only agrees for the Gathering because she wanted her subject to see that the living, even their relatives, hate them. She was being shown as unredeemable evil for years. In her short story she calls her subjects as "arrows", meaning she cares about them only because they are of use to her (people failed to notice that because later in Silverpine questline she talks about how she fights for the lands of Lordaeron because they belong to their people and she cares for them; yeah, because she would admit to Horde's adventurer that she doesn't care :facehoof:). In War Crimes she wanted to kill her sister! Yeah, they were working together, and she wanted her by her side, but she still wanted to kill her and raise her into undeath, and her children too! After Vereesa's betrayal (god I hate this Windrunner), whatever "good" was in Sylvanas was gone, she would never allow herself to "hope". And she certainly wasn't interested in being alive again, ever. To her, undeath is better.

I would say that it was still shown that neither side is innocent. Alliance still invaded Undercity and Zuldazar, even if they kept the civilian casualties to a minimum (or non-existant, since the SI:7 in Undercity scenario were looking for documents, regardless of what people misunderstood about it, and after Siege of Zuldazar only thing mentioned about it by the Horde was that the king died and they lost their navy).

5216043
But didn't Anduin say that the Sylvanas was poisoned soil that nothing good could ever grow from and that he never trusted her? And that one of the things we learned in the last expasion was that even the Light can do underhanded things because it believes it is right. That its path was the only true path? And what about what happened on Alternate Draneor? I'm not saying that I disagree with you that that isn't something that Anduin would do normally, but it written well before and after it could have worked. Good characters can make mistakes or blunders as long as we understand the reasoning behind it.

Also, in regards to the irredeemably evil I don't really agree with that. There have been instances where she has chosen to do the right thing. Like in the sister's comic, she had her Rangers poised to strike and kill her sisters then raise them into undeath. But she stayed her hand. In fact there have been a few instances where things like that have happened. I just wished more could have been done with that as well as other promised elements.

Again, I wish this expansion had been about the war, and only the war, while also showing the two strongest women in wow healing from old wounds. Maybe having Slyvanas learning to care for the living again or pointing out how hard it is to rule with honor when everyone seems to have a different definition of the word. Or actually having Jiana having to go up against Talanji in an awesome cinematic, only to have Talanji leave the battle to save as many of her people as possible. Before she leaves, she drives an old nail through her coffin telling Jiana that once she respected her for doing what was right. But now all she can see is a butcher of the innocent.

Guess I wanted the Alliance to have as much blood on their hands as the Horde which just felt minimal at best
