    New story: A Lovely Crusade

So when I was in the process of finishing up the previous story, SigmasonicX posted the Pride and Positivity event. While that story technically fit the bill (and is part of the event!), I felt a little bit like I was phoning it in, and wanted an entry specifically for the event.

    Soul Marked musings

I was inspired to write this little* thing after reading AlphaRidley's I'd like to soulmate with you. I thought it was a fun idea, and thought, Oh hey, I'm going to try to put my own spin on that. It'd been a few months since I'd written anything, and I was getting nowhere with the outline for the Luna in

    Things Aren't All Right

The world is kind of on fire right now.

Protests in every one of the 50 states, and various places around the world. People angry at systemic racial injustice and police brutality being met with... more police brutality.

And nazis and racist shitheads on websites about cartoon ponies.

New story: A Big Brother's Duty!

As I hinted in my previous blog post, I had a story kicking around in my head for Twilight Prime from For Want of a Horseshoe and the local version of Shining Armor giving each other grief. I hint at this encounter in FWoaH, and here it is.

New story: A Big Brother's Duty! · 2:19am Dec 8th, 2019

As I hinted in my previous blog post, I had a story kicking around in my head for Twilight Prime from For Want of a Horseshoe and the local version of Shining Armor giving each other grief. I hint at this encounter in FWoaH, and here it is.

This was pretty much me giving into my desire to make characters just talk at each other forever. The fic had a much lighter editing pass than most of the previous story, but hopefully that doesn't mean I missed any major proofreading issues. It just means that I was able to give into my worst impulses, and spend almost four thousand words making characters ramble to each other.

Hopefully some among you are entertained by that!

As for what I've got cooking next, I have two major ideas I'm torn between:

1) A direct sequel to For Want of a Horseshoe, where Luna, in search of a place to belong in this new Equestria, uncovers a vast web of child labor law violations in Manehattan. She then investigates, and dispenses justice.

2) A story in the main canon timeline set some time around season 8. The long-lost city state of Hirvinki, home of the moose, has reestablished contact with Equestria. Twilight Sparkle is called upon as ambassador to venture to the snowy lands of the far north, where nights can last months.

Any preferences?

(And for the record, you can safely assume that my current rate of output is pretty much what you can expect to see in the future. I am not fast.)

Variant 1

I just stumbled on your stories and hour ago so either one sounds good from what I’ve read so far

If 2 is chosen, how will you explain the Moose if the Yaks already reside on the far north. I would suggest, if it's Au or close to canon, that they live at the other side of the north, like a quarter across if the world is a planet.

I’m going to be greedy, I want both. I’ve read and enjoyed your two stories in this series.
#1 I really like how you handled the character of Nightmare Moon and the subsequent return to Luna. The fact that she “won” and became the sole monarch of Equestrian left a strong negative impression of her that she didn’t have to overcome in the main timeline. The fact she won’t be a “Princess” for at least several lifetimes gives her a freedom her counterpart lacks. She can become a Knight Errant righter of wrongs. Taking on a underage foallabor ring is a wonderful way to start out. This gives a tremendous potential for character growth and action. I admit I like your Luna and the fact she was fighting “Nightmare” from within all that time tempering her from killing and making her think that not killing her potential assassin and using him as resource had to have been her doing demonstrates a great deal of strength and mental fortitude. Her potential mind magic may make her more of a SHADOW analog than a “Batmare.” I can see her in disguise as a Lamont Cranston type and Dash as a great expy of Margo Lane.

#2 I always have great respect for Diplomat stories. Retief by Kieth Laumer was my first introduction to the genre and I can see Twilight in a similar role. Why? Because I like this older, wiser, more experienced Twilight a great deal. You’ve shown how much she has grown in your timeline and I’d like to see this experienced and more mature Twilight Princess of Magic and Friendship cut loose and handle a difficult diplomatic situation. She’s basically a “friendship facilitator” on a grand scale.

#3. Since I’m greedy I’d also like to see an occasional overlap between the two stories in a “Freaky Friday” situation with their dimensional counterparts. Hey it’s almost Christmas and I can dream!

Thanks so much for these two stories they were very fun and I liked your take of Twilight fixing Glimmer’s Timey wimmey messes.

Mm, 2. 1 sounds awesome, but I believe some narrative space would be good. It would be a good time to see Luna's transition into a stable position, which then would be a good place to start 1.

I prefer variant 1. The second one does not interest me at all.

Stumbled upon your stories and read them in the last two hours, absolutely loved them
Now, I’d like to read option one! ^.^

I lean towards #1 personally, for what it's worth. One day we can hopefully see Twilight Prime's methods and results in fixing the other Glim Glam Tangents.

I love the idea of both, myself! If you tied me down and made me choose...I'd say do 2, then go back to 1. Getting some space from the the first might do you some good to let the universe, build itself up in your mind, as it were, and it'd be cool to go back to not-Serene Ruler Twi for a bit as she tackles an interesting situation. But...yeah! I definitely want to see 1 happen, but 2 sounds intriguing :D

If you have any interest, and if you think you can avoid it being a retread, I'd like to see Twilight make headway into one of the other timelines.

i wanna see the other timelines tbh
especially the Flim-Flam timeline

Variant 1, followed by Variant 2.

5167151 Yeah, me, too.

5167270 Agreed, although, given how much I hate these two, I'd give this one a big pass.
One another note, I don't know if you've seen it or not, but another author actually wrote a story about this one.
It's called Context, and it's by KnightMysterio.
Check it out if you can, and desire to; it's quite good.
