Trans Lives Matter · 7:41am Sep 6th, 2019
Y'all want to know why I give such a fuck about trans rights? Because my trans comrades go through hell and back every single fucking day they walk this earth. I just want them to be happy. That's all I fucking want, is for my friends to be happy, with who they are and the world they live in. If you have a problem with that, all I can suggest is that you fling yourself into an active volcano and not come back.
Read this thread. All of it. It's not a pleasant read. I can't for a second imagine living in this nightmare. And yet every day, millions do. Many don't make it out alive.

Trans Lives Matter.
At Toastmasters last week we had an extemporaneous topic "if you had to wear a badge with five words everywhere, what would they be."
My pronouns are he/him.
Because the idea needs to be normalized that pronouns are the choice of the person they label.
It's about respect.
Today, I learned that disrespect can kill.
It is shocking reading about what trans people have to deal with. It is some encouragement that things are better than they were ten years ago, and a lot better than they were thirty years ago.
I'm tempted to say, "Well, many of us have a hard time, but not all of us." But part of the reason I have an urge to minimize the problem is that I try hard not to think about the ways in which it's affected me personally.
I remember when the doctor I went to for hormones (which I don't take now because I like being a functional futa), rather than refusing to treat me, gave me placebo-level doses, then charged me for therapy for speaking with a nurse for five minutes each time I wanted a refill. I remember how lucky I was to be able to change my driver's license, and how embarrassing it was the first time I didn't pass in a professional setting because I was still getting used to transition. I've been laughed at, treated as less than human, and shamed. And honestly, my transition was ultra-smooth, almost certainly better and easier than 95% of transpeople out there.
But I just try not to think about it, so I can pretend that stuff never happened, and I can pretend it still doesn't bother me deep down how most people would view me as a cancer if they found out I was different.
So, yeah, it's no big deal really. What was I talking about?

Were you the one who said in one of my blogs a few weeks ago that Pony encouraged you to work on your public speaking so you joined Toastmasters? At any rate, that’s a great answer to the question.

You’re in the UK, right? This ought to upset you greatly. https://twitter.com/theauntifa/status/1169675823944806401?s=21

Who?

*Hug* I’m sorry you’ve gone through those things. I hope you’re enjoying, in your own words, “being a functioning futa”. I know HRT affects people in a lot of different ways, but I hope dick technology continues to improve for all genders.
Ouch ... I'm glad the doctors and therapists I've dealt with have been super supportive, and I really wish they all were. And thank you so very much for your advocacy.
We may disagree on some other matters, but you've a good heart.
Like antisemitism, I just do not get why people do this...

There is a lot which upsets me greatly about the UK at the moment.

Thank you. What do we have to offer each other, but love? I know I have anger issues which I need to work on, but they stem from my love for my comrades who are suffering. I just want everypony to be happy.

Like Boris “Larry Moe and Curly-looking MF” Johnson?

As a person with a hell of a lot of privilege, it is my honor and duty to fight for those I love.
5117125
He is high up the list.
The UK has historically lagged behind other countries on trans rights, but we have been brought into line by judgement from the European Court of Human Rights. You can bet if they get away with Brexit, they will try to drag us out of the ECHR next.
5117123
Aye. :)
And good luck!

Indeed. I speak on a variety of topics from Machiavelli to intersex to high seas pirates and how they're nothing like copyright infringers. Can't stray into politics because of the venue, but I can be politics-adjacent and discuss human dignity and how it can inform our humane treatment of asylum seekers or our prison system.

Such as?

This is great praxis. You get a gold star.

Link?
Because of this paragrap:
You just got yourself a follower.

I consider this an honor. Hope you’re ready for a mix of shitposting and leftist politics and of course cute ponies.
5117237
Leftist shjposting? Please, don't do that.
Don't give me hope.
Seriously, though, ponies of the world, unite.
5117245
You have nothing to lose but your bridles.
5117245
Comrade?!
5117264
Goddamn it, it does feel like hope.
5117294
Y'know, I never really catch the use of comrade. Mostly because in Chile, "camarada" (the direct translation) is used by the Christian Democracy (center-ish) party, and the Communist Party uses "compañero" (companion/partner/fellow). But digress.
You ask me "comrade", I offer "friend".
