"Pinkie Pie left the time machine" - An AI-written pony-fic. [Not Botnik!] · 9:51pm Jun 11th, 2019

TL;DR: This blog post contains a pony-fic written by an AI. ...No, it isn't Botnik.

If you're reading this, you're probably familiar with the insanity that is "Botnik Sparkle makes a Hoof", in which I'm using Botnik's predictive keyboard to co-author a My Little Pony fanfic that's so insane only the unholy union of man and machine could produce it. :rainbowwild::pinkiecrazy:

Well. Guess what.

We have a new challenger, OpenAI GPT-2, and he/she/it/they are confident enough to write on their own, no human collaboration required*. You just give it a sentence or a paragraph to start with, and let. it. write. :rainbowderp:

And its results are glorious. :rainbowlaugh:

*Well... almost none. For you see, OpenAI GPT-2 can indeed keep on writing all by itself all day long - its more easygoing, more user friendly cousin, talktotransformer.com, however, is limited in its maximum output to ~300 words or so.

How do you tell a story with only 300 words? Simple, you just copy-paste the last few sentences back into the input box and hit "GENERATE" again! :rainbowdetermined2:

And you wanna know the best part?

This AI was trained on pony fanfiction. :pinkiegasp:
(Among quite a lot of other things, it would seem.)

I've already generated 15,000+ words of beautiful insanity, striking comedy gold a surprising number of times, and often enough still comedy silver or bronze if not. :pinkiehappy:

I'd love to share some of the stories talktotransformer.com has woven for me.

Heck, I wish I could put this up as a chapter in "Botnik Sparkle makes a Hoof", but... it wasn't me who wrote it, the AI did it all on its own! :derpytongue2:

Keep in mind, my only input was this:

"Pinkie Pie left the time machine"

After that, my only further influence was how much of the AI's output I'd copy/paste back into its input box, preferably enough to keep the AI on track to write about ponies.

Added some minor formatting, but that's all. Here we go:

"Pinkie Pie left the time machine"
by OpenAI GTP 2 / talktotransformer.com

Pinkie Pie left the time machine to find it out. It gave her the opportunity to save Applejack and Fluttershy by destroying the Time Machine, but the two saved Applejack and Fluttershy by destroying Nightmare Moon's Crystal.

Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash also found the Time Machine after the Battle at Equestria Castle, and they brought it to Celestia, who then used it in the battle with Nightmare Moon that became Nightmare Moon, where Twilight and her friends defeated her by creating a force field. At Twilight's insistence, Rarity invited the Elements of Harmony to investigate the device, where they discovered that it has the power to change dimensions, which is why the dimension-change was necessary. She then informed Twilight Sparkle, who told that the Time Machine could also cause massive destruction. Rarity decided, however, to not risk this. Rarity suggested to Discord that he use the Time Machine to bring the Elements of Harmony together and help defeat Nightmare Moon's evil magic.

Rarity and Rainbow Dash later discovered that the Time Machine was destroyed along with the Elements of Harmony's plans after the crash of Equestria's most prized Pegasus, which caused the war to erupt, which caused the destruction of the world and the destruction of Equestria. However, the Time Machine was brought back and its powers were restored. It helped Rainbow Dash reunite all the other Elements with the Time Machine.

The Time Machine eventually crashed into a lake and the Elements of Harmony began to rebuild the world. However, there were too many Elements of Harmony, with many of them being sent to Earth. One of the Elements was Princess Celestia, who took the Time Machine with her when the Time Machine crashed into a lake. The others stayed behind when the Time Machine crashed and took some time to rebuild the world and reunite it with the Elements of Harmony.

In "Twilight", Twilight Sparkle uses the Time Machine and uses it to rebuild the world after Dark Luna's return to life

The Crystal Empire

Following the events of Rainbow Dash in "Twilight Princess", it is revealed that the Crystal Empire were a sentient race of Time Beings who had once lived in time, but were destroyed by Princess Luna's Time Stop plan.

After the Time Stop plan, Celestia and the rest of the Elements of Harmony were sent to Earth to rebuild the rest.

After the destruction of the Crystal Empire, the Crystal ponies and their descendants returned to time.

In "Rebel Without a Cause", all three major race of ponies—Platinum, Diamond, and Jade—reunited after the destruction of their respective Time Masters.

The original Twilight, still the only surviving pony due to Rarity's magic, also reestablished her own Time House and joined forces with the Crystal and Time beings to protect the Twilight, which she did in the event of Princess Luna's defeat and her return to the earth in Princess Celestia and the Celestials.

The original Rainbow Dash had become the Princess of Time, and when she arrived in time one day, she saw the Crystal Empire had been attacked by the Crystal and Time beings, and she and the others fled before they were defeated. Rainbow Dash, however, was forced to retreat at the cost of not only her life and that of her sister, but the lives of her friends and friends of friends, and the future of Princess Luna, as well as the universe.

She was resurrected through the efforts of Time, and was taken under its wing. She joined forces with the Crystal to defeat the Celestials and the Time Empire, then reemerged as an Alicorn and took back her throne of the entire universe, eventually rising to become Princess Celestia herself. She was reunited with the rest of her friends at the end of Twilight of the Republic, when Twilight became the Princess of Time again, leading to the founding of the Time Department. It is unknown if the Princess was involved in the founding of the Time Department herself or simply had the authority to do so (as many believe). She is not known to have ever made a direct contribution to the history or existence of the Twilight Universe.

Biography

Early life

"I am the princess of Time." This article or section needs to be cleaned up to conform to a higher standard of article quality. Reason: The spelling appears to have been changed to 'Princess' or 'Princess of Time' as in the series. This could also refer to Celestia herself, so I've added some links to that section.

Princess Celestia was the eldest child in a line of twelve sisters and brothers who were born on a small island which, coincidentally, is still in the middle of the sky. Each of the twelve was given an individual name in order of priority so that the eldest one could see them. Their names are: Celestia, Luna, Starscream, Unicron, Ponies. Her mother, Princess Luna, is an old queen in Celestia's House, while her father is the legendary Space Knight, Knight of the White Tiger. Her mother and brother-in-law are her adoptive mother, Luna of course.

After Celestia's birth, Celestia moved to Cybertron, where the other six were born.[1] Celestia has had a significant role in many aspects of Pony history including her time as the leader of the White Pony troops in the battle for peace, the subsequent war with the Autobots, and now, the conflict between humans and the Decepticons.[2] Celestia is very active, appearing at conventions as early as 2008, though it is not clear if she is still at the event with her own stallions or simply attending. Celestia usually shows up alone, rarely at events with guests, but can sometimes come to events with other ponies.[3]

Celestia's involvement extends to her own past, such as her time as a Scoutmaster, a childhood childhood, and her first appearance as the leader of her own army before going on to become a Decepticon. She is constantly being threatened by threats such as "I'm going to kill you", "You'll pay for breaking me", and "you're mine".

Her appearance at the end of the movie is the most famous. It tells us that her body was transformed, revealing her face and all the features of a real teenager.

Tobias is her first name. Tobias is considered her name and family name since she is her mother's child. The original version did not allow that the last name Tobias had anything to do with Tobias, and so this is how she will name herself until she is finished with her mother, as it also allowed to create new names of Tobias's parents as well. He becomes a Decepticon and, like many of his peers, he starts the story with nothing on his life except his father and what he's missing.

This is what he looks like: Tobias is his mother's daughter. That is for sure. (Tobias is now a Decepticon). This is what he used to look like in his childhood (Tobias will now have a Decepticon name. At least). This is what he is like (Tobias is no longer as bad as he used to be). The timeline does not have any other explanation for him until when his father returns from space, he decides to look and be different.

So the timeline of the series has now become Tobias, but has not been changed. I don't know that he'll die a natural death by this point because we've already seen this many other timelines were affected the same way as this one was. :trollestia:

...I didn't put those footnote markers there, the AI seems to like teasing footnotes but never delivering on them. Won't stop me from filling them out:

[1] Presumably, their family tree is a wild jungle of mobius loops and self-references that has driven many-a-genealogist to the brink of insanity and given programmers nightmares just thinking about the edge-cases.

[2] ...It was a rather turbulent time in pony history. Especially when Queen Chrysalis sought to gain the favor of Optimus Prime to steal the Spark from the Time Lords that had taken over the Crystal Empire.

[3] Unfortunately, Celestia never announces ahead of time which convention she is going to attend. 2008 was quite a tumultuous year for the World Clown Association.

I'm messing with this thing right now. You're right. It does come up with some really weird stuff.

I know right? :rainbowlaugh:

...Ahem:

After Twilight got angry with the Twilight Mane Family's plan to sell Princess Celestia's body parts to the Equestrian Hospital for Medical research, the royal family joined forces to prevent this, along with Princess Celestia's body parts. It is unclear if they are alive or dead because the princess' body parts could just disappear from the cave anytime, causing them to float around like a balloon, and in some cases have changed hands.[4]

Here's mine. Pinkie Pie ate a cupcake while Rarity sat across from her sipping on a nice Earl Gray Tea. All of a sudden, the two were approached by AJ and Apple Bloom. "Hey, how about some apple muffins?" ask the sisters.

"I'm selling them for the school's bake sale," adds Apple Bloom.

"I don't want the sale, I want them!" say the sisters as Twilight pulls away from Rarity.

"Yes you do, Twilight! Well, there's only one way you can give me a refund" Apple Bloom says happily.

They have a conversation. Rarity takes the cupcakes and says no thanks.

At lunch, the sisters sit down with a couple of the most powerful ponies in the universe and discuss their problems. Rarity is a good teacher and she gets lots of praise about the fact that Twilight knows better. For example, she says when she's in class, Twilight often says, "Princess Celestia gave me these things today! She made them for herself!"

"Oh? And why did Celestia want them for herself?" say the three sisters.

"They would've been so good in the field Rarity said he would."

Rarity explains that when she arrived on the farm, she saw the magic that surrounded the ponies in the nearby fields.

A few hours later, the Apple sisters return back to their farm where they find their brother sleep bucking the apple trees.  They decide they will try the apple trees so they can watch their own father try to sleep, but he has his own dreams, and will just listen to his dreams.
"Let's go now, honey," they say with a kiss.  They climb out of bed. With the help of the apple tree, they get up onto the roof.
"You're all right, I guess."
A light rain appears and the girls run to the window.
Appletree has a lot of branches on the roof like any other apple tree, but because it's an older branch, it's also taller.
And, at this point they realize they don't sleep, because they wake up looking at their brother sitting up at the window and wondering what happened, "How dare you do what you did! You are trying to kill me! What did you say? You said I could not sleep because you were angry that I am eating apples while I sleep!"
But, they realize that Appletree has been protecting itself from the sun by getting its leaves cut down, not just by getting rid of all its fruit and flowers, but also by covering its head. Appletree will also have a protective shield on its branches to protect itself, so when one of so when one of the children see their father, he screams in distress, eyes still closed.  And this isn't the first time they've seen this behavior.  In 2003, an officer was justifiably suspicious when two boys saw their grandparents.  "The father came to the window; you see him coming and then what do you see?"  The officer asked.  "I see my granddad screaming and crying," the boy replied.  "That's suspicious," the officer replied.  "How else would it be suspected?" The officer continued. "How can two people with one common bond -- their fathers -- have that tension?"  "We've never seen that before," the boy replied.  "I'm not even asking how he knew. The man could not see me, either.  He did not see me and he did not speak to me." That same officer asked about two other suspects.  "There were eight or nine of them; three were black," the boy explained.  "How did they know them?"  The officer pressed further. "Why would a cop do that?" he asked.  The boy explained, "I asked the man what he saw, and he said something about someone in his family.  That's it."  The officer told the man.

Meanwhile at the library, Twilight does her best to explain a late book but to little success. Spike can't help but laugh at her expense.  Then Rarity says something very odd, a word she apparently just dropped herself.  In a moment of great anxiety, Twilight turns around and sees that she is now on her own. As she gets up out of her chair...she is no longer there. She drops to her knees and kneels there, the clouds in her vision finally disappearing.
Suddenly, in the back of Twilight's mind, she hears the unmistakable sound of another song. One she hasn't heard in years. No, she hasn't heard this song since she met Equestria last July. Twilight smiles to herself, and finally realizes that this is the song played over and over in this room by Rarity. She continues to listen to it in silence. This is the song she was trying to sing to Celestia for the first time. And finally, she realizes who's playing it. It is... Rarity... She smiles once more to herself, knowing what's coming before she lets out a surprised gasp. The music is so good it makes one want to vomit, so loud it knocks the air out from under her, then, when it's back, the music is still so loud he can hardly hear them.
Twilight takes over to play the song, while

Fluttershy cuddles an unhatched phoenix egg in one hoof and an unhatched dragon egg in the other.  The egg falls from the sky after Twilight and Rainbow Quartz touch it and Twilight grabs some and tosses it out the window. Twilight gets out.  Tails leaps over, grabs the egg and tosses it to Twilight who takes it home with her and the Crystal Gems.  After going to Ponyville to fix things with the Crystal Gems, Applejack tries to get her friends to stop their fight.
"The End is nigh! Twilight Sparkle must stop the Crystal Gems!" -- The song The Crystal Gems Sing, a song heard through the window, is sung in the background as we see the Crystal Gems are on the verge of falling into a hole that they have to come back out of.
"What is wrong with that glass?" -- Rarity screams to Rainbow to get her attention, but Rainbow doesn't hear her over Rarity's screaming. Rarity is also missing her ear!
The Crystal Gems, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack are trapped in another dimension, and have the rest of the world believe it is Earth. Meanwhile, at the Crystal Gems' hideout, Rainbow is wearing a ring covered in green crystal and a necklace with a crystal from the previous dimension that she received in the future. Pinkie Pie is still munching on cupcakes that she still seems to pull out of thin air. As if she hasn't had enough. Her eyes are sparkling as she speaks and she's already starting to pull the curtains slightly to show us that she still knows her way around an airplane as she tells her story.

"Well, the reason i picked this spot over other places, is I wanted to have some of the cake. Well, to be honest, this is not what our destination is. We have to get to an airport in Paris. The plan right now, is we're going to just take this train to Paris. It'll be really easy to get on and off it. For me, it could be an hour or so, but that's probably how much time i have. The ride is like 3 hours, and I'm sure anyone getting back from a vacation can say that. I don't need to take this train, and besides, the guy doesn't need any food." She has to be joking.

"We get along okay." I'm beginning to wonder what she did that made her so confident, even if I don't know for sure. We still leave no trace on the floor as she gets into her vehicle. It's a beautiful brown vehicle of some kind. I have to admit, I like the shade of brown on it. The lights are on with little effort. They were seemingly lit by outside magic.  One might also argue that the spell was the result of an explosion of fire which engulfed the castle.  However, the effects of fire are easily countered in the same way to magic: the effect has yet to be counteracted by something different.
However, I was able, through observation and deduction, to determine that the reason the flames didn't reach the other side of the castle was due to the "bricks" falling onto the floor of the interior.  From the fire effect alone, it is not surprising for the bricks to not hit the ground.  We have known for a while that there are bricks which can be hit; therefore, the floor would not be covered in bricks; therefore, the fires would not spread.
The bricks of the area have fallen from the ceiling of the dungeon through windows and onto the floor, so even if there was damage in the ceiling of the dungeon, the damage to the brick wall would be noticable.  Thus, the fire which enveloped the castle would not spread through the entire room.  If it spread to the floor of the dungeon (as happened), then the dust and cracks would cause the fire to spread out.  The smoke or dust would spread.  If it spread to the rest of the dungeon, then the water on the waterfall near by seemed to float through the sky and into the castle where they were.  One particular part seemed too high for them to get it to work so they decided to move the raft off the main land.  The raft started moving toward the valley and then the trees became the only way to reach it, the raft was completely in the valley of the falls.  They were all pretty nervous because they had not experienced such a thing before when they moved away from the river.  As the raft passed they could hear the roar of the river, so much so that even the river sounds got blurred.   They moved in the darkness that was just starting to make it over the falls and eventually found themselves in a clearing about 20 feet high on the left side of the cliffs.  The raft was too heavy but it helped them get close enough.  The sound of water was pretty much drowned out by the din of the forest, but the smell was there as well.  It smelled like pine resin and pine needles and was like a warm, cozy place when they reached in. The raft was loaded with about a dozen people from all over the country.  On their way down to the valley they tried to keep the water away from them by moving along their bodies.  It was pretty easy to get wet in the woods, but it was within a castle made of sturdy stone. Twilight was confuzzled along with the rest of her friends. She hadn't noticed Twilight's attention. She was looking up at the ceiling, with her own eyes, but nothing else.

"Twilight," she whispered.

Twilight nodded a few times, then shook her head. It was so lonely here, really, it was amazing how hard it was to get a hold of yourself. She looked around. Most of the stone walls were gone, replaced by wooden structures. Some were old and crumbling, while others were clean and neat. The floor and walls were made of thick, white boards. The walls were wide, the floor was smooth.

Then she realized nothing of interest was there, just an empty room. No books, no furniture or anything to suggest that Twilight was there. Her thoughts were blank, and it wasn't until the small sound from out of the floor above her that she understood what was happening in this room, and what it really meant.

A voice came to fill the place. A voice that couldn't be heard over the sounds of battle. It sounded so calm. It almost sounded like a smile.

That was when Twilight's eyes widened. Oh no! The voice sounded very familiar to her.

The familiar voice was from her grandfather, and he too was in the room speaking to her from beyond the grave. The princesses were right. The castle was truly haunted. It was an obvious fact that I should not enter the princesses' domain. Well, there was a slight chance one of them might be a witch. In their midst would appear a man dressed in black. That man was a witch, who claimed to be an elf. The elf whom he had encountered in the forest. Twilight soon noticed a cursed horseshoe among the dusty old books. She picked it up, unknowingly releasing a great evil. ~~~The Shadow of Death~~~

After examining it for a moment, the shadow of Death was revealed to be the spirit of her own father, the man who lost his way in life and eventually died before being reborn. However, he had been cursed with a single curse which prevented him from returning to life; the power to consume a living thing. As a result, he could never gain possession of his death from another and it was not until the demon who killed his father gave the curse to Twilight's ancestor, a mortal named Twilight that had been possessed by two demons, that he could become his own once again... or at least that was the intention of the demon who had given him this power.

After a few moments of searching through the library, Twilight realized that she did not have anywhere else where she could look before finding herself in a bookshop with a bunch of books on magic. It was at this point that Twilight realized who she was looking for... a book of Twilight's own dreams?

After the bookshop owner brought her in and had to tell her a short story from where an angel named Luna had been banished by an evil lord named Terezi... Twilight knew immediately from reading the story that she would return.

Back at the CMC clubhouse, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo meet up with Apple Bloom, who is worried sick about where her sister and the others ran off too. Sweetie feels the same as Rarity's never been away from home this long into the night before. ~~~~~ Cut to the Sweetie Belle house, where Apple Bloom is hiding under some logs. She finds the key to the door, and opens it. Apple Bloom walks in with Twilight Sparkle and Rarity. She tells them about how Sweetie always has been afraid of strangers, and how she lost her friends and best friends when she was younger, and she thinks of the little girl who lost her as a parent. She says she will never see Sweetie alive. They hug. Twilight thinks it is the greatest gift Sweetie could ever give her. Twilight asks if her friends will tell her why they always get along so well, and Sweetie says they do anyway. They all hug. Apple Bloom then turns to Celestia. "So where's Ponyville?" Apple Bloom asks a stunned Rarity. "Well, she said she can't be back," Rarity says with pride. Then he laughs and says with a sheepish grin Rarity knows he has gotten to the bottom of everything. Rarity gets up and goes to help Sweetie. But Sweetie just walks up behind Apple Bloom, and begins kissing her like an apple.

Apple Bloom kisses Sweetie Belle back like the marshmallow she is. Scootaloo just stares at the two in shock.

Sweetie Belle is still upset with Sweetie Pie, wondering what her fault Sweetie Pie's been up to. Scootaloo is still sad, unable to stop crying at that sight. Sweetie Pie is still not sure about Scootaloo's behavior with Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Pie asks Scootaloo what happened, to which Scootaloo answers simply, "I... did some things that I shouldn't. Maybe when I'm older..." ...but when Sweetie Pie looks over at her, she finds out what she was upset about. The story continued to get more and more confusing throughout this chapter, with Sweetie Pie's confusion as to what "some things" Scootaloo did or said being the true origin of her reaction or depression with Scootaloo. This led to her telling Sweetie Pie to stop crying. Sweetie Pie looks over at her, confused, and explains exactly what happened. To make matters worse, she then begins telling the story to other ponies. At that point, however, Sweetie Pie loses her patience, and tells Scootaloo to take her out! ScootaLump, who was supposed to do it, then goes to confront Sweet Cake. Her eyes blazing red like fireballs from Hell.  I watched in pure horror as her eyes narrowed in terror as he approached her.
Malfoy leaned forward a moment before slowly walking into the doorway, turning his head to face her.
"Herr! What kind of girl do you have to be if you don't want to take me back into your damn lair, eh?"
Polly sat up and looked away, then back at the ground.  Herr looked stunned but kept moving.
"I mean, you're in my realm! I don't know what you'd be thinking, really!" she finally declared, before turning back to Malfoy.
Malfoy glared over at her with a menacing glint in his eye.
"The point is." she responded. "I'll do anything for the man, but he won't take me back into his damn lair."
"Well now, I suppose you could tell us your reason."
Both she and Malfoy smiled smugly.
"I just want you to know that I'd rather you didn't go and try and bring me back into your damn lair, you know that. So, I'll just leave you be. Now, I'm sure I said there was no way back from this place, but that's alright; I'll still protect you, as well as all the skeletons you still hide in your closet.  You have become more and more like a "bad person"  in reality.  Now, you have gone from being the good person to  the bad person .  So what do you do now?  Do you keep trying to "just be yourself?"  Or do you realize you actually have to change and learn how to be with others or at least the people around you?  No matter how talented you are these years, can you really learn to be happy in the real world that everyone is attracted to you?  Not everyone will be interested.  You'll likely think your friends and family will try to tell you what to do.  They don't.  You can't judge yourself and act like an alien just because someone has found a way to make you act you have to prove it to them you're happy and have to make the decision to be with them.  We aren't that way.  We haven't evolved to be like others . We  have evolved to be ourselves .  Yes, sometimes there are times when you feel like "other."  Don't be one of them.  And even if you hate yourself for it...you also don't need other people judging you and your situation.  Because if you say one more word, you will regret it. She squished an overly melted s'more between her hooves, splashing chocolate all over her pure white coat.  That smell was sooo wonderful.  She smiled, and closed her eyes.  She didn't want to miss him again. "It's okay."

Back at the castle, Twilight drops the cursed horseshoe back to the ground and she and her friends run out the castle in fear.  They hide from the mob from the entrance of the castle down the road to the main road. Spike's friends quickly catch up and they manage to leave as they're being chased by a group of men with swords on their shoulders. Spike stops and looks over to the woman in the ring. Twilight looks over at Ponyville and sees that she's smiling like she's seen from before. She walks to him and puts her hand on his, revealing the one who was standing there from the beginning. The man gives her a grin and she smiles back. She stands from her horse and rides over to the crowd of ponies. She looks over and see the one who's been watching her is Spike. He sees her and starts getting angry. He asks Spike what's happened and if she was able to help him escape. Spike asks what she's talking about and she tells him that she's seen her friends in battle the previous night and has seen Twilight and Pinkie in battle before. Spike tells her that they're going to kill her and she tells him that she has her "curse" put on her... The people at Ponyville start leaving in shock but still stand up and keep screaming for a while. They finally leave after several ponies scream for them to get out! The other ponies, they can only guess, are ghosts held under the sway of the horseshoe.  The ponies have heard stories of ghosts, not all ponies, but of ghosts from time.  They do not trust ghosts; they always fear them. But, there is hope.  You have arrived here because you seek adventure.  If everything works out, you may be able to find your way out of the ghost-filled room.  I suggest you take your time, to see how deep this has gone. It has been twenty years since your father left town without leaving it or taking it with him.  You have come to this place with a purpose - to seek the answers you have been searching for.  You hope this is the final destination.  You will be greeted by a giant skull to the left.  You will look at it.  Your eyes will focus on the skull.  If you stare too long, you may become aware of something strange. You may hear the skull's breathing.  If your eyes are not fixed on it, its mouth will open and close in anticipation.  There is something strange about this place.  Your imagination will tell you why there are sounds and smells, but you will have to leave the haunted room to find out.  I tell
this story to foals to this very day to scare them to the point they sod their pants.  So they go for a run and then go on a hunt where they have to figure out where they are as a group and why they left.  And it is almost impossible to keep track of where everyone is.  This story is probably the best example of a good running novel. So we had to get our hands dirty and spend some time out into the wild.  So in the first week of November of 1995 I was up with my buddies at the lake with a bunch of kids all running around around and messing around.  It was the perfect thing for bonding and the kids were really into it.  One thing we learned in the next few weeks was that running is a great workout for those of us who haven't found the motivation to give our own running a good try because we can just use my buddy Joe.  Now, I have the whole story (yes I have).  My dad still calls me old hag and he said it was because I had the oldest name ever.  Well, what do I know?  After we caught up, it was the longest run we have done yet to my mother at 7 or 8 miles (which my mom agreed to.  My dad and I ended up leaving early to take me to therapy. I clearly needed the help. I was scaring foals shitless and that was clearly not okay.  I had to see him as a therapist, not an exorcist.  But he refused to give up. He refused to let me forget the bad experiences.  That was my choice.
Sitting in the clinic with me, I watched one patient try to justify killing their dogs and to defend his action by putting it down to the bad experiences they had with their dogs. That was my choice. I don't know exactly how I came to do that, but I did it.  I did it for selfish reasons.  The good thing is  I know I did it at the end - there are others who have chosen not  to do that.  But it is  the right choice, especially for our community.
I am not advocating that my dog was possessed by demons.  I'm not advocating that he did anything wrong.  I am not saying that he shouldn't have his dog put down.  It still breaks my heart to learn about the evil people who do evil things in our community.  I do not know them, and yet I'm compelled to do something about it.  As many other people have said on here over the years, to me, it is impossible.

All of it is impossible. Me becoming Twilight. Me releasing ghosts from a cursed object in an old haunted castle. The dreams of being a royal, a princess. In reality, I'm just a looney in an insane asylum.  The only things I have is my powers and my magic and I know this as Twilight's power, but somehow I haven't taken any of it to heart yet and I've been thinking over every detail for the past few hours and it keeps me from sleeping. Even when I'm lying on the ground, it feels like I'm about to die and then I'm there, the best thing ever.  I have nothing to regret about having been born in a place where magic was forbidden, and the knowledge that I could control it with my mind. I look up at the sun at the edge of her balcony and smile, trying something new. I open my eyes before she.  She takes a moment to sit down with her back to me in the middle of the park. It's nice to be at peace, so long as it is. She's sitting on her heels behind us, looking up at the sky, though her face is so still that it almost seems like she's asleep. For a split second, I think I see snowflakes falling from the sky on her back, then they disappear, and she continues to grin gently laughing in the darkness at my pain, all my pain and all my agony.  A few of my friends went outside and looked at us, and said, "Oh this is good, it makes me feel better".  And I said, "What about this one, what about me?" She said, "You're on painkillers so you don't hear your doctors, it makes you feel guilty and lonely." I was so confused and frustrated with my body and everything. I got really depressed.  I got really angry.  I was still getting into drugs and everything like that... and suddenly I found myself with a real boyfriend. That's when we really started dating. That was a different and more caring relationship than I would have ever had in my young relationship where we both felt terrible for one another and for the relationship. One moment he was the most beautiful man to me and I just got so sickened with him.  Then the minute he started taking pills I thought it was going to break us.  I felt like some horrible and horrible thing happened.... like some horrible thing happened to me and he had no control over it.  He was controlling me like a puppet, but he wanted to be like you and I could never break free from it.  I never got over it at his insistence for long, but I didn't want that. All I wanted was to spend a day in my imagination playing the role of best book horse like any good Twilight fan would want.  But when I found myself staring at this book that the internet has been buzzing about for days, I wanted to tell my story with my own words. The book does seem really nice and has lots of artwork to go along with it, but I'm having trouble believing what I'm seeing (a book about romance in the 21st century).  I've said many times that this is not just a book about Twilight, this is a book about the real, human side of romance.  It's about friendship, friendship with friends, and relationships.  I like books because they create this emotional, real world world, but as of yet, this is the only time that I've truly read this book before.  Even with all its fantastic artwork, the language of love in the book is somewhat of a mystery, especially since this book is set in a time when people like Twilight seem to not have any more relevance on this modern Earth. I feel like maybe this book does too good a job at putting Twilight in a fantasy, as the entire premise seemed a bit strange when we all assume that this was meant to be about love and romance and not just about sex and food.  But I also really want to believe in it.

Meanwhile elsewhere in my dreams, Fluffle Puff runs wild in a field of rainbows somewhere, Pinkie shoots sweets out a cannon bigger than my head, and Discord and Screwball are up to chaos somewhere. After all, anything goes in pony. This fandom is nuts.  I'm not here all trying to be cool, but my goal is to find a way I can love this fandom without judging those who love it, regardless of what they do with it.  And I'm definitely not judging myself too much when this fandom says you can't have this kind of fun (which it really does). I hope some day we can be like them.  Or we can all watch them cry.

PS: Did you get weird usernames and time stamps when you did it too???

...I'm gonna have to read this later, it's getting pretty late here in Germany. :twilightsheepish:

But yeah, I did get usernames, Wikipedia-style article-headers, message board comments, and deceptively convincing author's notes. One of my attempts terminated in mentions of "Like this", "Leave a Comment", "Posted in Friendships, Friendship, Ponies, Reviews", "Related Posts", and then suggested "other things you might be interested in", and then raved on about "Hollywood not being a real film". :derpyderp1:

...Huh. Well. That was something I just read. :D

Oh yeah, I used this to write an entry for this month's writeoff.

It, uh, was not appreciated.

At lunch, the sisters sit down with a couple of the most powerful ponies in the universe and discuss their problems.

So far everything seems normal, just Applebloom doing a bake sale for school.

They climb out of bed. With the help of the apple tree, they get up onto the roof.
"You're all right, I guess."

AJ giving out words of encouragements to a tree is nothing new. :ajsmug:

"How dare you do what you did! You are trying to kill me! What did you say? You said I could not sleep because you were angry that I am eating apples while I sleep!"

yeah! how did you dare doing what you did do, you doing-doer! Also, sleep-eating apples is something I can easily imagine happening. Some people can do the weirdest things while they're asleep without waking up. :derpyderp1:

But, they realize that Appletree has been protecting itself from the sun by getting its leaves cut down, not just by getting rid of all its fruit and flowers, but also by covering its head. Appletree will also have a protective shield on its branches to protect itself

That tree really doesn't like the sun. I wonder why. :trollestia:

In 2003, an officer was justifiably suspicious when two boys saw their grandparents. "The father came to the window; you see him coming and then what do you see?" The officer asked. "I see my granddad screaming and crying," the boy replied. "That's suspicious," the officer replied.

Very suspicious indeed. Arrest him immediately! You're crying without a permit! :flutterrage:

The music is so good it makes one want to vomit, so loud it knocks the air out from under her

...Oh, and it was Rarity playing the song? Huh. "So loud it knocks the air out from under her" sounds like something Vinyl Scratch might accomplish. (Wait, Vinyl Scratch and Rarity are both white unicorns... is Vinyl Scratch secretly Rarity's split personality?! :pinkiegasp: )

Also, "knocks the air out from under her" sounds like a very pegasus expression. Considering Twilight's an alicorn, I could see her picking it up from Dash. Gotta remember that one. :rainbowdetermined2:

Fluttershy cuddles an unhatched phoenix egg in one hoof and an unhatched dragon egg in the other. The egg falls from the sky after Twilight and Rainbow Quartz touch it and Twilight grabs some and tosses it out the window.

GEEZ! Twilight! You're supposed to handle those eggs with care! ...How else are you gonna make a dragon-phoenix omelette? :trollestia:

Rainbow Quartz - the fusion of Rainbow Dash and one of the Crystal Gems.

"The End is nigh! Twilight Sparkle must stop the Crystal Gems!" [...] we see the Crystal Gems are on the verge of falling into a hole that they have to come back out of.

Or maybe Rainbow Dash is a fusion with a Homeworld gem?

Rarity screams to Rainbow to get her attention, but Rainbow doesn't hear her over Rarity's screaming. Rarity is also missing her ear!

Well, if she's screaming so loud that Rainbow Dash can't hear what she's screaming about, that'd make a missing ear convenient, else she'd be screaming her own ears off. ... Oh, I see what happened now. :duck:

[...] If it spread to the rest of the dungeon, then the water on the waterfall near by seemed to float through the sky and into the castle where they were.

Huh. That's some surprisingly sensible construction. The fire can't spread through the castle if the castle falls apart before the fire can reach it. No castle = no burning castle. Makes sense! And as a fail-safe, there's a waterfall that can float straight into the castle and put the fire out. Genius! :pinkiecrazy:

"Twilight," she whispered.

Twilight nodded a few times, then shook her head.

Twilight, make up your mind. :ajbemused:

The familiar voice was from her grandfather, and he too was in the room speaking to her from beyond the grave. The princesses were right. The castle was truly haunted.

However, he had been cursed with a single curse which prevented him from returning to life; [...] it was not until the demon who killed his father gave the curse to Twilight's ancestor, a mortal named Twilight that had been possessed by two demons, that he could become his own once again...

So, Night Light is now a cursed spirit trapped in a horse shoe who sounds just like Twilight's grandfather, who got killed by a demon, and Night Light's only way to return to life is to give the curse to Twilight... except not Twilight, but the G1-Twilight, her ancestor, who was foolish enough to tangle with not one, but two demonic contracts resulting in a... unique resolution in who gets to possess her body.

...Right? :rainbowhuh:

It was at this point that Twilight realized who she was looking for... a book of Twilight's own dreams?

Woah. I didn't see that coming. :twilightoops:

After the bookshop owner brought her in and had to tell her a short story from where an angel named Luna had been banished by an evil lord named Terezi... Twilight knew immediately from reading the story that she would return.

Apparently, Terezi is a character from Homestuck. Could someone enlighten me why he would banish the angelic Princess Luna? :derpyderp2:

Apple Bloom walks in with Twilight Sparkle and Rarity. She tells them about how Sweetie always has been afraid of strangers, and how she lost her friends and best friends when she was younger, and she thinks of the little girl who lost her as a parent. She says she will never see Sweetie alive.

Unexpectedly dark. :pinkiesad2:

They hug. Twilight thinks it is the greatest gift Sweetie could ever give her.

Oh, nevermind. Apparently running away and never being found is the greatest gift ever. :derpytongue2:

Twilight asks if her friends will tell her why they always get along so well, and Sweetie says they do anyway. They all hug.

Oh, okay. Hugs are great, and all is forgiven.

Apple Bloom then turns to Celestia. "So where's Ponyville?"

i.ytimg.com/vi/U5XeHvzX-JQ/hqdefault.jpg

And we have a genuine love triangle conflict! :raritystarry:

Scootaloo is in love with Sweetie Belle, Sweetie Belle the marshmallow is in love with the apple Applebloom. ScootaLump is in love with Sweetie Pie, but Sweetie Pie and Scootaloo are now comforting each other, so ScootaLump goes to angrily confront Sweet Cake about it. Then Draco Malfoy shows up.

I'll still protect you, as well as all the skeletons you still hide in your closet.

"Aww, that's very nice of you!"

We haven't evolved to be like others . We have evolved to be ourselves . Yes, sometimes there are times when you feel like "other." Don't be one of them. [...]
