    IN WHICH HAPPY BOXING DAY!
I meant to post while it was still Christmas (CST) but as usual I’m late. I hope my few remaining readers had a lovely holiday! Here’s a song that’s been in my head lately.

Chuu is one of those who, according to her coworkers, really is just a ball of sunshine. Follow me past the jump.

    IN WHICH I LACK BURRITOS
No, really. I haven’t been by my local burrito place in a long time, partly due to my mother, so I haven’t been able to get good inspiration for another Burritoverse story. Sorry. For now, enjoy my favorite J-Pop group NiziU.

    IN WHICH SCREW DEADLINES
Hey, y’all. Been a few months. Whoever reads this, just wanted to show I’m not dead yet. Do you know NMIXX? You should.

Right. Now, where was I? Oh, I’m sure I’ll figure it out below the jump.

IN WHICH I LIED TO YOU (SORRY)
So… Turns out it's been a full year (!) since my last story. I promised a couple stories in between but failed to finish them. But at least I got my annual Mayor Mare story in. Have some Twice as penance.

More past the jump, if you're willing.

IN WHICH I LIVE… SORT OF
Hi. Been awhile. Not sure who's left to read this. I just now realized I accidentally added an "L" on my last 3 posts. Oops. Well, enjoy Sir Elton.

So, after fixing my screw-up, let's get to the meat of why I'm writing, if you'll pass the jump with me.

IN WHICH I TOOK A WALK
Those few who visit my user page might have noticed I changed my byline. To this:

Hey, if Coffee can quote Homestar Runner, I can quote Python. Anywho, click the below words for news.

I like how "The Galaxy Song" uses Traditional units. Being a 'Murikan around Japanese stuff all the time, I get sick of metric and the people (especially Australians) who call us stupid for not switching totally to it. In addition to cost and Murikaland's famous stubbornness, I see no problem with knowing two systems. Leaining multiple languages is considered a good thing, why not also weights & measures? Of course Science™ needs to be unified in metric for interoperability (and ease), and the military has used it since Vietnam for the same reason. But my car gets forty rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!!

(actually my beloved Tohru gets way better gas mileage than that; google what 40rd/hgd works out to, it's honestly hilarious)

But I'm digressing even earlier than usual. That's probably a good thing actually, considering what I'm about to News at you…

So I went for a walk in the park today, mostly because my bedsheets had been cleaned and I needed an excuse to shower and also get out of the house. Most of the construction in the park has been completed (just in time for the annual summer concerts) and the walking paths have been significantly improved, though rerouted in places.

Going to the park rather than the gym allows me to blabber to myself like a crazy(er) person, serving on more than one occasion to get the creative bit of the brain working. While I was talking out the plot -- such as it can be -- and justification for my final Burritoverse story, I realized something important.

I must rewrite Aria's entry.

As more and more world-building comes off of that single short story, I see in retrospect that I need to add a LOT more to it. There's a lot that happens around Orangeglow before Aria causes his death, and I feel he needs to speak to that reporter about things. Also Aria needs more justification for stealing his burrito. I want to get more into Aria's head to see what's in there just like I've done for Sonata. Doing so will make for a better Burritoverse-style digression.

Truly, I sometimes wish my two readers could see into what's left of my brain and understand the plans that I half-bake. Even though during my last depressive rant, I said I was spoiling everything, I didn't. I still held a lot back. There's SO much I'd love to spoil, in part because in many of my stories I consider the journey more important than the destination -- Annie is a great example, although I hope the few readers enjoyed the twist at the end. What I will say is this:

Unlike Pony-Orangeglow and the real Trump, EQG-Orangeglow actually has some justification for being a raving lunatic. He's going to learn something very important. He's too dumb to realize its significance, but someone close to him knows what's going on, and that character will gain a greater role in the coming months outside of the Burritoverse after Orangeglow is gone.

I have no intention of totally deleting the original Aria story (though I will "Unpublish" it), mostly because I don't want to lose the comments -- many are good, also MythrilMoth chimed in. He didn't like it, saying it was my weakest Burrito story (he liked Sunset's and Sonata's entries) and going after Trump was a cheap shot. As usual, he was right, but I want to believe he'd support my decision to make Orangeglow more of a character before killing him off. He has to die. Fixed point in time, so sorry.

My plan since learning of Moth's death was to dedicate the final Burritoverse story to him, as it's a direct sequel to the entries he liked, and as an apology that I was too lazy to finish the "saga" before he left this world.

Anyway, Burrito news is all I have this evening. I'm going to cook supper now.

Peace out.

I'm sure Moth would appreciate the effort. :)

And "galaxy song" is Eric Idle at his best!

Also, glad to see a fellow self-speaker. I do the samr with my stories and....well, me and myself talk about mostly everything.

I think it’ll be good to see an expanded version of Aria’s Burrito. I’m intrigued by what Orangeglow might’ve seen or learned, and I look forward to that answer!
