I had an insect poem:
A terza rima ode in iambic pentameter called "The Protest: Ant Work Ethic", published back in September in vol. 3 of the Civilized Beasts anthology. Which is fun enough.
But then I got an email from the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association telling me that the poem's been nominated for their annual Rhysling award. It's one of 54 poems in the "Long Poems" category, so the odds are against it. But ants are plucky and annoying little critters, so who knows how that'll all turn out?

Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks, folks!
Now if I could just get a taker for my Medusa ode or my Puss in Boots ode...
(There you go, Georg: there oughtta be some "ode" puns somewhere, shouldn't there?)
Mike
