Probable S3 spoilers below, please avert eyes etc. if you don't like that kind of thing!
Yeah, anyone who's read the Magic Duel synopsis that popped up on EqD yesterday will know there's a whopping great canon-screw incoming for In Her Blood (but I can't honestly say I mind that much because, hey, Trixie episode!) In terms of when the episode happens, I can't honestly see any way of absorbing it into the storyline of Blood, although the story will still be being written when it comes out. Ultimately, I'll probably have to act like the episode didn't happen, so to speak. Sorry about that, I dislike the whole idea of ignoring new canon, but hopefully it won't detract too badly from the finished story!
In any case, the new chapter should be cropping up soon. Sorry for the delay with this one, my workload's kind of increased lately, but it should be out before too long. Thanks, as always, for all the support for In Her Blood!

I'd say just set your story before the episode but after her first appearance. Then tag it AU.

Well yeah, most of the fics on this site will eventually be canon bombed. That's just the way it goes when you write your own events. You either accept the non canon property of your story, or you write outside of it lol.

479001 I was imagining it set about 18 months after Boast Busters, meaning Trixie got about 6 months of aimless wanderings and then a year of forest, which probably sets it mid-or-just-after season 2's timeframe, I'd guess. In any case, I'd agree that AU tags solve everything!

And still, I'm totally okay with that. Like I said once fics create kinda alternative reality, that can be compared to Enchanced Star Wars universe, for example. So we are free both to enjoy the show and fanfics, like dreaming and fantasizing on so-called "What-if-worlds".
Don't you ever be sorry or ashamed because of being non-canon or show-inaccurate. it's the story YOU create, after all - and we're happy to walk this Yellow Brick Road of yours, wherever it goes!
Haven't checked what is coming up on the episodes yet, but I doubt it'll be as good as you're story so far. Partly since the show is for a less mature audience so they can't have epic scenes or stories like the one you are making *imagine if Hasbro bought the writes to Past sins for example and tried to tone down the emotional aspects for kids? Be pretty horrid in my opinion*.
I'm quite happy that Trixie will finally be back; and hoping she is more fleshed out as a character now. But we'll see. : )
