Thinking about writing a one-shot side story...

Basically I have this vague idea for a side story involving a clueless salespony who visits the Pie Family Farm just outside of Rockville, the timeframe being sometime before Pinkie left the farm. He's invited in... and doesn't come back out. Essentially it would be a horrifying look into the lives of the Pie Family through the salespony's eyes. Naturally it'd be full of culty, Lovecraftian shenanigans and the unfortunate fate of a salespony who came to the wrong farm at the wrong time.

I've always been convinced that there's a mostly benign shoggoth somewhere back in the Pie family tree. And thus Pinkie inherited an unusually pure strain of the Old Blood. One of the tenants of lovecraftian mythos is the unintentional nature of the danger, yes? That aside from the King in Yellow, the old things mainly don't care. Thus the damage they cause is largely unintentional, like someone driving over an anthill.

So perhaps the Pie family has to deliberately cram themselves back down to three dimensions to receive visitors and conduct business, but something goes wrong this time. Say, said Sales-pony has a Talent for showing up and getting his hoof in the door before his hosts can figure out what's going on. So he bypasses whatever usual early-warning abilities they have, and gets the "full experience"

Or, even better, what if Pinkie is the normal one? What if she has barely any Awareness, compared to the rest of her eldritch family? 'twould be an explanation for her eccentricities, anyone would be strange in the head after growing up in a house full of shoggoth-hybrids.
