Okay so my mouse troubles have been resolved for a while now and I can resume working on my stories. I have decided that I will take down The Witching Hour: As the Tempest Rages during the revision process until the first chapter is revised.
As for what went wrong, well it's simple. I got ahead of myself and started introducing a plot point far too soon. The first arc of the story should be focused on Midnight's discovery, journey to the islands, and her interactions with the islanders.
The plot point leading to a character reveal will not be removed outright, but instead it will be moved to a more appropriate part of the story.
So as a result the current two chapters will be revised to match the needs of the story's focus. This will include Twilight meeting Sunset at the train station in Ponyville in chapter two in place of Twilight and Sunset meeting with Umbra.
Also Midnight's dream in chapter one will be come more vague and symbolic in nature among other more minor changes. This is being done only to bring the story into it's proper focus and line things up to maintain coherence in the overall narrative.
As for chapter three which had been nearing completion at the time the error was realized, well it won't be up this year. There is simply too much that needs to be done and nowhere enough time to correct it all and produce the third chapter.
It's a pain, but that is the way it needs to be. I will be doing what i can to revise the first chapter and get ATR back up as soon as possible.
It won't be deleted? By the way, if you unpublish a chapter, or the story as a whole, the comments are gone?

No the comments stay when you simply unpublish the story. And no it won't be deleted. The problem is a major one in truth but it's not that difficult to fix. It's just annoying and will take some time is all.
Chapter three however, that is more of an issue. Maybe anyway, I honestly don't know yet.
